   From friendly greeting to parting until next time, LaBise was a special experience. The staff were amazing and the food, albeit rustic, was elevated to heights that took us on a delightful epicurian journey.    We arrived late for reservation, but needed to attend an soirée an hour later. They were nice about our delay (I had called them) and they were able to move us through at a pace that accommodated us without feeling too rushed. The Sommelier helped us pick a nice bottle of wine, but the cork looked sketchy, and although I accepted the wine, she asked for a taste and she refused the bottle for us - and brought us a new bottle! I’d never seen that before!! The food itself was amazing a well portioned. I had the Duck a l’orange, and my husband had the black cod. Bother we’re amazing and pretty. We both got our own desserts, both amazing and fun. Overall, a wonderful meal with excellent service!

    Everything about our experience was wonderful. We ordered from the Mothers' Day Menu. I appreciated the varied selections. Although three of us ordered the salmon and one of my daughters ordered the ratatouille with egg, it was a tough decision to make because everything looked delicious. The food was beautifully prepared and delicious, as was the wine. The sommelier picked the perfect wine to accompany our meals. The service was attentive and friendly and the ambience transported us to an upscale French bistro.

    We had the Mothers Day Menu (three course $75 pp). The courses had a an elevated presentation but the food in terms of flavor and taste, in my opinion, were not worth the price. Ambiance was nice, server was clumsy for an “upscale” restaurant and food didn’t carry its weight.

    Dishes are excellent. Went twice in a week and ordered several items on the menu with my wife. The restaurant is “recommended” by Michelin and could become a one star Michelin restaurant providing they take their service level from good / very good to excellent. But again the chef knows what is doing.

    Wonderful service from the moment we walked in. Excellent menu selection that featured French classics (e.g. Duck, Steak Tartare, Steak Frites). Food was prepared and presented beautifully. Wish we had room to try more of the menu. Atmosphere was a bit more upscale than casual but not formal or stuffy.

    Made LaBise my go to restaurant when in Washington DC for the IMF World Bank meetings. It is a relaxed restaurant in walking distance from the IMF HQ and the food is great - not too heavy or over seasoned. Nice place for dinner with friends or a business meeting and great that they are ope for lunch now.

    Disappointing experience. Salad with almost no dressing and risotto was bland. Service was rather poor (had to wait so long for our coffee that at the end they took it off the bill). Our waiter seemed nice at the beginning but then turned out to be rather obnoxious. Our first and last time at this restaurant.

    Where do I start! The staff were so welcoming when we arrived, and we were taken back with the lovely decor. We started first with cocktails and a shared plate of gougeres, which just melted in your mouth. (Could gave gad about 50 of those!) We then had the over-the-top fois gras plate and the white asparagus, the latter having just the right amount of a heavenly hollandaise on them. (If I had a wheelbarrow I would gave taken a few hundred orders of tgem home.) Those were then followed by the duck two ways in a perfect orange sauce and with a small clump of orange foam, and the steak (filet) frites with a to-die-for bearnaise and wine sauce. Both were absolutely delicious and perfectly prepared. One would think we would have been stuffed at this point, but no! We ended with a wonderfully composed cheese plate, and a chocolate souffle that was truly the best dessert we have ever had. The chef was truly on his game the night we were there, and we were so lucky to have been the recipients. The service was helpful, non-intrusive, knowledgeable (excellent wine advice), and well paced. We were here to celebrate our 42nd wedding anniversary and we couldn't have picked a better place. Everything was wonderful, and we extend our thanks to all.

    Our party of four had the beet salads, onion soups, two risottos, branzino, and duck. All of the dishes were nicely prepared and delicious. The dessert madeleines were terrific. The service was attentive but not intrusive, the ambience attractive, and noise levels were low, allowing for easy conversation.

    We had a wonderful dining experience last night. Started off with some delicious cocktails at the bar. Moved to our table where we were greeted by our server, Joanna; she was fantastic throughout the evening. The crudo and the octopus were great. We each had the duck entree...quite good. Nothing better than topping off the evening with a dark chocolate souffle.

    This place is a gem! From the moment we walked in the door until we left, our entire evening was warm and welcoming and relaxing.     What a beautiful restaurant. It is the old Oval Room. Comfortable and clean. The tables are not on top of each other. A perfect place for a mid-week business dinner. The menu is lovely. A nice selection of fish, fowl, beef, vegetarian. Traditional French sauces and preparations were peppered throughout. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable. I liked the wine list. I was disappointed that the gougeres were not hot or even warm. They were slightly cooler than room temperature. Also, the oysters and sabyon was an underwhelming appetizer. One oyster tasted "funky" and made my stomach gurgle for hours. I would have expected fresher seafood. Still, it is worth trying and I will return. Recommend for business dinners and special occasions.

    Hard to say enough good things about La Bise. Pricey but worth every penny. The food is delicious - and beautiful (the chef should sign the plates - they look like paintings.) Service is exceptional - friendly, helpful, attentive, informed. A very special place for a very special occasion. We love all the Knightsbridge places but this goes to the very top!
