La Bodega Negra – Café
A rather limited menu. My grandson disappointed that they didn’t serve fajitas.
Bill quite expensive for what we had. Wouldn’t choose to go there again
Cool little place with tasty food, cocktails and good music. Hip ambience and decent value for ££.
Amazing food - definitely stepped up their game recently. Staff lovely!
Really great food, an extensive tequila list which is always a plus.
Really good service and food was lovely...!
prompt service and good help with Gluten Free option....

Unfortunately we came to the cafe at a very busy time, we were given a table in the middle and due to no space in the cafe whatsoever our table and chairs were bumped into by guests and waiters every fifteen seconds. We decided to leave as we wouldn’t be able to enjoy the experience and food. Feeling very sad as we were super excited to visit the place before.
We arrived on time and had to wait for our reservation and then they ran out of frozen margaritas. There was live music which was a good surprise. Tacos were awesome. Service was hit and miss though everyone was kind.
Really tasty food and drinks. Pre-dinner theatre menu is really good value for money
Thought I have booked the restaurant instead of the cafe. Regardless of me making a mistake I did put in the comment that I have a code app therefore I believe someone dealing with the bookings should have called me and let me know that the cafe does not do code app etc. I find it really strange that the restaurant/cafe don't check they bookings/requests in advance. Luckily it wasn't a special dietary requirement or anything else as according to the manager they do not check their bookings in advance or do not check the requests until the booking actually arrives. We did end up dining in the cafe but I don't think I would ever come back as the food was same quality as Chipotle just way pricier.
Good food but terrible service. We were sitting down for 20 mins, had ordered our drinks but they hadn’t arrived when the waitress grabbed our menus and said ‘have you ordered? You know there’s a booking on this table after you?’ We said ‘no’ and she threw the menu back onto the table.
The food was good but felt they were hovering around us all night.
Great for a casual catch up with friends. Good value for money and great service.
Nice - and cosy - with good prices and value for the money
Nice place, great location, food was good as well as the service!
Friendly staff, lovely atmosphere and great food. We're vegan and the staff were really helpful in adapting our dishes to exclude animal products. We'll be back. :-)
Excellent food, service, great for vegetarians, fantastic central location, very good value. Fresh & exciting flavours.
Always a great experience with amazingly delicious food and great service from Bruno and Jesus! A must when in London!
Food was poor value, particularly the veggie fajitas.
Good vibes and great food! We shared the guac and chips for starter and I had the chicken fajitas for mains which was extremely tasty! Everyone was happy with their food and cocktails! Would definitely return.
Great food! The red snapper ceviche was outstanding. Staff were very friendly too.
Delicious food, staff were very friendly and accommodating to my friend's birthday (they brought a shot with a candle in it!) however the music was a little too loud and the service was a little too slow. I would still recommend this restaurant to anyone!!
Excellent proper authentic Mexican food with friendly lively atmosphere. Service a bit slow but overall definitely worth going and we loved the food. We'll be back and also want to try the big Sister venue behind called La Bodega Negra which you have to book well in advance!
Lovely evening- staff very friendly, ticks all boxes for a tasty, fun evening celebration!
Nice place and very nice staff.
The food is ridiculously overpriced and the portions are tiny.
Drinks are very small and very overpriced too.
Spent £45 and left feeling hungry...
Have been to the Cafe a number of times now and whilst we have always really enjoyed it and therefore returned we were disappointed with our experience this time. Service was poor due to the staff being intent of socialising with friends at the bar and not looking after the other customers and the food was not as good as usual. Whilst flank steak is not an expensive cut of beef, the flank steak served with the fajitas was over cooked and very tough. Perhaps it is time for us to try somewhere else and maybe if a few people do that it will up its game .. ?
The food was ok but very expensive for what it is. The environment is 'cool' but the music is too loud
Was my 2nd London anniversary. My friend had a nice time. For young customers. Good place to eat for a dinner special or not. Not advise for a date.
The food was great but the service was awful. I made my booking on a Tuesday because there was a Taco Tuesday offer but when I arrived I was told by the manager the offer wasn't on anymore and they could only offer me a free drink as compensation. Then when I received the bill, a free drink wasn't offered and we were charged £6.25 for extra sauces which were tiny pots of cheese, sour cream, salsa and guacamole. It was £4 alone for the extra guacamole which was the size of a tablespoon! The restaurant was very busy yet throughout the night we were barely attended to and had to flag staff down regularly to get any orders. Extremely disappointed as I have visited this place twice before and always received good customer service.
Service was extremely slow, waited 40 minutes to order a drink and look at the dessert menu. Our server was difficult to understand as he had a very quiet voice and didn’t articulate his words well. The food was flavourless. This restaurant is not as good as it was when I first went 3 years ago.
Thought we booked at la Bodega Negra downstairs but no, we were in the cafe.
There was no indications saying the different between both. In addition, a lot of mistakes were made for our orders and it was pretty slow, even thought the servers were really nice.
Great food and overall experience. Would recommend to a friend and will return. Thank you!
I had high hopes the café would be as good as the Bodega Negra restaurant which I have visited several times. I am sure it was nothing wrong with the food, but in my opinion, none of the dishes the three of us had tasted good at all and we could not even finish any of our meals. The service was great though and interior nice so there is potential.
Great food but quite loud and hectic (not a bad restaurant just aimed at someone younger than me)
Service was awful. Staff are very good at walking around and staring into space and basically ignoring customers. It was painful trying to get some attention for some service. Food was ok. Thought it would be better. We were actually asked to leave an hour and 35 into the meal as they said the next booking was there. They then asked us again even though we were waiting for change. The only time they noticed us and served us fast was in asking to leave.
Great for quick bite with friends to catch up and drink
Good food, great service
Great Mexican! Not many places in London have really good Mexican - we ate at the Cafe side.
A busy and noisy place. Table turnover is quick, they don't want you to stick around. Food is okay. Happy hour was good.
Took my son to Harry Potter as a birthday treat and we ate here in between performances. We loved the food, the service was great and they put candles in his churros for his birthday - he was thrilled! Thank you!
Bodega Negra is a Mexican restaurant with tasty food, a nice environment and a great selection of tequilas and mezcales.
Tasty but small portions, we went as a group and shared out plates which worked well. Cocktails were very easy to drink. Service slowed down towards the end of the meal particularly when we ordered soft drinks, the restaurant was just as busy as when we arrived.
