Consistently Excellent Food & Service, offering a great deal during SF restaurant week

First time visitors. Overall it was a great experience. The service was perfect. The restaurant was open and airy and overall very nice directly on the pier. Food was fresh, good quality. Cocktails were good. We would definitely come back to try something new. I can highly recommend a visit. We came for restaurant week in SF and it was a great value.

Food was great and quality was good. Area was quite noisy especially dining indoors. Service was not very good as we waited quite some time before the order was taken. In fact, those who came after us had their orders taken before us. It was also not communicated to us that we will be charged for extra chips. Overall, I would come again for the food.

The non veg restaurant week menu was fine. The vegetarian had one option in the appetizer and entree category. The entree had few pieces of broccolini and squash and rest was filled with cabbage. Whereas non veg entrees had so much more in each option.

We tried the SF Restaurant Week 2021 $25 p/p specials. We each had the La Mar Cebiche sampler and it was so delicious. The Lomo Saltado and the Arroz con Mariscos were both tasty. Definitely a beautiful setting on the outdoor patio and lovely view of the bay. Great hip upbeat music to chase those blues away.

Our first time dining out and we were blown away by the food (sorry no photos). Ordered the dungeness crab causa, lomo saltado, and the arroz con mariscos. Yummy is the only word to describe it. Our waitress, Gina went above and beyond and epitomized the PERFECT service. She checked on us and made us feel special.

I was way to crowded . There is no way they were seated at 50%. Understaffed and to 30 minutes to get our first drink .

I love the food and the environment. I’ve been at la mar many times before, and the service was always friendly, nice and great. However, last time I went the service wasn’t as great as expected.

Waited 40 minutes to get seated. That’s the poor experience. Server was ok.

We ate on the lovely outdoor patio, with a roof and nicely spaced tables. The inside tables were also available. The service was very good, the quality of the food was excellent: ceviche, rice with seafood, grilled calamari, and loom saltado were all delicious.
I would definitely recommend this restaurant for a special occasion.

Unique flavors, great choices, beautifully served. Ate outdoors how ever indoors is just beautiful. Drinks are unique and delicious. Would definitely go back.

I’ve been here many times since I moved to SF a few years back and La Mar has never disappointed. So glad that the service and food are still impeccable despite Covid. For any newcomers, sit outside on the water, the view is amazing.

Ceviche was excellent. Cocktail seemed like a mocktail.

Outstanding and well beyond my expectations! Exquisite complex flavors, stunning presentations, exceptional service and the location is delightful with views of the bay and agent breeze.

Preetha took very well kare of us and the guys rotating shifts around the entire premise helped a lot I loved the experience because I didn’t expect it to have a gorgeous view of the ocean along with Cruise ships and amazing food ! I am peruvian and everything but the pisco sour lived up to my standards. The four course meal I really would check out just remember the final desert at the end is a bite size and scrumptious! So make sure you arrive voracious ! The seats were super comfortable and the floors are gorgeous .. the chips of taro and aji are complimentary and so perfect at the salt seasoning i would really recommend spot. Had an awesome ambience too :)

all good. Check temperature too. Would like to recommend to friends.

We love La Mar! We've gone to the one in Lima and feel lucky that there is one in SF. The food is amazing. I've been to the one in SF at least five times. On this visit, they sat us outside where we were the only ones for most of the meal, so it felt very safe. An additional note-on my most recent visit, I was 36 weeks pregnant. They had plenty I could choose from that wasn't raw (vegan ceviche was delicious and as good as the fish) and more importantly, even though I had constant heartburn in pregnancy, I had zero heartburn from this meal even though it was acidic, spicy, rich (everything that's delicious and causes heartburn). I think this speaks to the quality of their food and ingredients and preparation.

Came here for a date with the hubby but our daughter made the reservations. Not for sure what to expect but was not disappointed! The drinks were amazing and the food was to die for! When we finally left this place, I knew that we would be coming back here again.

Service was awesome. So friendly! The food was incredible. Even the other customers were friendly!!

Great venue by the water. Very pretty place. We sat al fresco on Easter.
Food very good. A little pricey, but a great spot for a special occasion.

It's been over a year due to the pandemic that we've gotten to have a full-service dining experience with gorgeous, amazing food on the San Francisco Embarcadero waterfront.....La Mar has been a favorite destination for this kind of experience for me for years, so it was nice to be back!

The food was not tasting as good as we expected and for the price.

Love La Mar normally but this time was just a fail. The salmon sh came out wayyyy under cook. The vegetables were all still hard. Kind of disappointing since we come her so often.

Nice restaurant. Tasty food, good service. I was on the patio. Not the best view, bu t pleasant.

Comimos delicioso, el sazón peruano es el original de Lima y recomiendo mucho las empanadas y el ceviche mixto. El pisco estuvo muy “cargado” para mi gusto, pero igual con buen sabor
