The pls e us dated and the quality just isn’t the same. Needs an updated menu and atmosphere. COULD BE a gem....
We frequent La Tasca Restaurant. Food is always fabulous as is the service. Great for a date night or a night out with friends.
The food was disappointing, with paprika as the overwhelming flavor. We had olives (very vinegary), patatas alioli (the potatoes disappeared under the garlic), bacon-wrapped dates, (again, paprika), queso de cabra (good, but not exceptional), crab cakes (soggy), stuffed mushrooms (overcooked), and gambas a la plancha (SO much paprika). Nothing stood out as wonderful, although the beef brochette was the best thing we ate. Service was good, but there are so many other better places for Spanish food (Emilio's in Hillside, for example), I don't expect to go back.
Food is consistently good! Service is good. Nice atmosphere. Maybe music could be a little quieter.
Horrible. We could not even dine there because we waited over a half hour after our reservation. A restaurant that takes reservations should respect the time of their patrons and seat them as close as possible to the reservation time. Another couple was still waiting 50 minutes after their reservation time. That is just ridiculous and unacceptable.
Delicious food & nice atmosphere. Reasonably priced & close to home! Parking was a little tricky on Saturday night.
Food was good service was excellent the only bad thing is that it was loud and super noisy. It was hard to have a normal conversation with out yelling.
I have been there for lunch before and it is way better, quite easy to talk and the food and service is just as excellent.
Overall, it’s a great place to go and have a good meal with friendly staff and good service.
Server was totally uninformed of the menu items, we had to point to them on the menu and she still didn't recognize them. When we asked what the five assorted cheeses were she had no idea. And when we got them, they were all the same, not different. The grouper was cold and greasy. Bad food, worse service.
Excellent restaurant! Love the small plates and it makes for a fun evening! Our server recommended something a little exotic, which we tried. When we weren't 100% thrilled with the recommendation, the item was removed from our bill! Great service! Server was very attentive.
It’s a nice experience overall but a few of the dishes we ordered were disappointing.
Terrific place, this is our favorite restaurant.
Very nice dinner. You need to spend some time looking at the menu and figuring out what you want. Stay with the small plates and have fun.
Went there with a group of 4 people. Food was good. The wine was good.
Great food. Excellent service and options presented from our server.
The food was not very good. Didn't taste fresh. I've had much better Tapas at other places.
Love the food! On a weekend the place is usually packed so reservations are recommended. Decor needs to be updated, but otherwise a great neighborhood restaurant for a casual night out.
Good food but small portions add up quickly
Became very loud after 7p
The website says live music but, only tv noises.
The real menu isn’t the same with the online menu... many courses from online menu are missing because are ,,specials”!!! But, isn’t specified this to know it before coming. The table was covered with a weird white paper too long rolling over...
The bread what they brought to the table was at least a day old ... hard and cold.
All of these are cons.... the pros : very polite all of them and very fast serving, the food was okay.
Always a pleasant experience at La Tasca. Good servers and service, love the grilled octopus and the garlic potato salad every time.
Great food and wonderful knowledgeable service. Will look forward to going back and sharing this with friends.
I have eaten at LaTasca many times over the years and still one of my most loved restaurants. The staff is amazing and the food is absolutely incredible.
I had on occasion taken friends from Spain to La Tasca and they felt it was like home.
I highly recommend this restaurant for all occasions.
We had a great experience here form the sangria to tapas and great service as well. Hard to choose from wide variety but make sure you save room for dessert!
Our waitress was spot on with her recommendations.
My cousin and I shared 4 tapas which were all very good.
We hadn’t seen each other in a long time and our waitress wasn’t intrusive and gave us lots of chat time. We liked the generous wine pours also.
Food was average, some good; some not. Maybe ask your server for suggestions if you plan to go. Our meal was very rushed and the lighting for an 8p date night dinner was as bright as a cafeteria. Dimming the lights would help set the mood. Lastly, my wine glass was completely covered in wine on the outside of the glass (I had to wipe it clean before touching the glass!). Basically, attention to detail here for an over $100 dinner would help La Tasca!
Was really underwhelmed with the place. Arrived around 7:30 and the place was practically empty, and it's a rather large place with 3 dining areas. I walked past many other restaurants just before that were full including the patios.
The black bean soup was bland. Also got the shrimp and chorizo, which arrived with 3 small pieces of each on a plate and some lemon to squeeze on it. The shrimp seemed old and the chorizo was like someone tried to spice up some kielbasa sausage. Also ordered the spinach and goats cheese empanada. It is 1 empanada cut into 3 pieces and has a really flaky, greasy crust. It also has golden raisins in it, and there were so many it overpowered both the goats cheese and the spinach, which was the main reason for ordering it.
They have a nice beer, wine, and sangria selection. Maybe a good place for drinks, but I wouldn't recommend the food.
Always enjoy their food - unfortunately this is the second time having Arturo as a server and both times had very poor service, felt rushed, zero personality, slow. Again love this place and just now know to make sure not to have him as a server. The first time thought he was just having an off-day but experiencing a second time, confirms just not a great server.
This restaurant has potential to be better than what it is!! Great location! Food was good but nothing special! Really its the decor that needs a complete overhaul!!!
Was excited to come for Friday night dinner. Total disappointment. Food is defiantly poor quality. Beef was so salty. Bread not fresh. Dessert special total flop. Had to cut it with steak knife. Cream cheese inside was rock hard. Disgusting. Crab cakes very small. Speciality cocktail very watered down. Ambiance ok except for bread all over floor near garbage can in corner of dining room. Would never come back here.
Have been here a number of times. Consistently good food and variety.
The food was lovely, but what impressed us the most was the generosity of the management. When they found out it was our anniversary they offered us a split of champagne with chambord and were very gracious. We will go back.
Not of the food was beyond mediocre. Outdoor seating was nice but I would not go back.
Always a great meal with great service, the menu is filled with interesting, tasty choices and the timing of the service is just right.
WE REALLY ENJOY THERE, FOOD AND SERVICE WERE GOOD, THE NEIGHBORHOOD WAS NICE, QUIET AND SAFE.
Food was good and they brought the food out shortly after one ordered
We've been going to La Tasca since day one! We absolutely love it there! Same friendly staff, fantastic food and always a fun place to celebrate.
Great place. Excellent food and service
This place was recommended to us by a few locals as my husband and I are from out of state. There must have been an event going on because they had the street blocked off right next to the restaurant. We were not greeted like you normally would be at a restaurant. There were two loud annoying little girls there whose attention I had to get because instead of doing their job, they were giggling and jumping up and down. Total lack of professionalism. Do yourselves a favor and get rid of them. After we were seated, we were given menus and our waitress helped navigate the menu since we had never been to a place like that before, which we appreciated. She was lively and attentive so no complaints there. The noise level was the loudest I had ever experienced at any restaurant I have ever been to. And when I mean loud, I mean that my husband and I were literally shouting just trying to converse. It felt cramped in there, seats were touching back to back and you heard everyone's conversation. I mean it was ridiculously loud. I cant stress that enough. The food portions should be called samples. They were that small. And I wouldnt say anything I tried was worth remembering. I would not go there again nor would I recommend it to anyone. It wasnt the worst experience in the world but honestly nothing about it stood out or made it worth going out of our way for. If it wasnt for the nice waitress and the salad, I would have given it 1 star.
The food here is very good and a great selection, lot's of options for sharing and tying new things if you're with a group. The service here is consistently very good, attentive and friendly.
Terrific al fresco dining and people watching on a lovely summer night.
