Very cosy small place. The food looks fantastic and tastes good. I did not try the main dishes, but soup, nigiri, and mousse were amazing.

This is by far the best sushi I’ve ever had. The presentation and flavors are exquisite. The Thai influence is unique and really adds to the specialness. Do not miss this gem!

You’ll never think of sushi the same way again. Way more than a piece of fish on rice: an art form!

This is a great spot to take a date or a friend. It’s pretty casual atmospherically but the food is outstanding quality. Service is fabulous too, a great star of the longwood area.

Do you like neat out of the way places? Do you like Sushi or Thai food? If you like any of these things, it provides a pretty swell experience for the lot of it. Don't feel like you're cheating on your local thai place, its worth it to see how someone else does it just a little different; in a good way.

We did the omakase and it was one of the most incredible experiences of my life. Worth the money! Chef Nick and Chef Nick are BRILLIANT! The only reason I marked down for service is because I ordered food to go including rice but when I got home I didn't have any rice. It was too late to call and request one so I just let it go and made rice myself. Otherwise I will recommend Laughing Monk any day of the week for any occaision.

We had the Omakase dinner to celebrate my fiancé’s birthday. Each dish was a delightful, delicious surprise. The chef was so detailed in how he presented and prepared each dish. Each sushi dish was almost too pretty to eat, and then the chef surprised us with a dessert at the end, lit with a candle, for my fiancé. It was a fabulous dinner and I will definitely go back.

Our party of 5 had a truly outstanding experience at Laughing Monk. Both the Thai dishes and sushi offerings were absolutely top shelf. The sushi chefs are very imaginative and skilled at combining unusual ingredients that create flavors that are by far larger than the sum of their parts. The quality is first rate, and the hospitality/service was truly warm and lovely. Some of the sushi dishes are expensive, but not inordinately so. We didn't try the umakase (chef's choice sushi) but look forward to doing so. Everyone left feeling very happy, and we all agree that we can't wait to visit again. Thank you Laughing Monk team! <3

Laughing Monk has become a new favorite of mine, when I want to bring foodie friends for great sushi, but at very reasonable prices. Service is attentive and great worth accommodating dietary restrictions.

Laughing Monk Café has the best Thai food that I have ever eaten. The pad thai is phenomenal, as are all the rest of the dishes. The sushi is also terrific. The only drawback to this restaurant is the lack of parking.

Food was amazing, and I will definitely keep coming back. However they forgot that I had ordered sushi and took almost an hour to bring it out (I had to remind them). It was very good though.

The sushi was perfect! Very creative and flavorful with quility ingredients and a mix of textures. It was all very thoughtful. The sizes were also very nice, not too big and not smothered with the rice. Best suchi so far in Boston!

My wife got a take out one night (just for her) and raved about how good it was. So we stopped in for lunch and dinner the next day and it was outstanding. I think the Crispy Shrimp in Chili Sauce was the best shrimp dish we've had anywhere. Crunchy breading and spicy chili sauce along with lightly cooked (steamed?) vegetables. Just the right amount of spices. All the others dishes (spider roll, hamachi nigiri, etc.) were very good and the presentations of all of them were picture perfect!!!
