This is my first time to Dine in french restaurant in japan. We had really wonderful experience, they really listen to what customer preference. The portion are just perfect, ingredient are fresh but some dish is a little blend and too strong of fish smell for me but other than that. We really love it.
Staff and food was wonderful
I am a very picky eater. I don’t eat fish and not so much of veggie fan. I informed the restaurant that I don’t eat fish and I don’t eat green vegetables, but I still got a lot of greens in my plate, including a big plate of salad. Maybe I’m still too young for the taste but the taste of the food was very organic, soft, and most of the time bitter. I recommend this restaurant for veggie and fish lover, but not at all for meat eaters and people who like food that is full of taste.
Top notch, everything was sublime.
Food was very nice, service was superb. Only the mocktail pairing wasn’t my favourite.
An amazing experience and worth a visit. A strong focus on Japanese cuisine gives you a true snapshot of local produce and meal traditions. The wine pairing was phenomenal and the sake and natural wines we tasted definitely elevated our experience.
Shinobu Namae and his team continuously improve their cooking as well as their wine/sake pairing.
Excellent beverage pairing that should not be missed.
Great lunch experience that I had in here. Everything is very detailed from beginning til the end. We had a very good meal in here. Great services . I will definitely come back again for the meal
Wonderful French cuisine with a Japanese twist, delicate flavour, enhanced by paired juice list(you have to try the pairing). Highly recommended to everyone who really like food and want to devote themselves totally into this journey with chef.
Fully deserving of all the praise and accolades - simple, perfectly executed dishes in a sleek setting with unpretentious, warm service. There are creative elements, but enough room is left for the beauty of the ingredients to really shine through. Most of all, every plate is incredibly tasty, which can't be said about all fine dining restaurants. You will find very few tables as good as this in Tokyo.
2nd time I had lunch here, this time the tasting menu was not as outstanding as with my first visit, which I think will be due to the seasonality – The dishes represented a switch of season from winter to spring and incorporated too many ingredients with slightly bitter tastes. Stellar dishes this time included the amadai with Japanese fava beans in nage (a yuzu flavored umami flood), the signature turnip (super juicy and bursting with fresh, slightly tangy flavor) and the desert (strawberries in combination with cheese ice cream). A bit of a letdown was the main dish (guinea fowl), due to the lacking “buttery-ness” of the beurre blanc and the off-flavors of the mussel puree. Champagne and wine choices by the glass were legit, as always I enjoyed the natural wines recommended by the sommelier. Given the serene atmosphere of the dining room, the good service and food that is truly unique I definitively plan to come again soon. Overall, still my favorite “French” restaurant in town.
The food was absolutely delightful, and exceptional service.
We had such a good time there, definitely worth a go.
Always love coming to L'Effervesence to try their degustacion menu. The food is beautifully presented and the natural flavors of the ingredients come out in every dish. They recommend excellent wines that pair wonderfully with the dishes.
Lunch here is the best ~$100 that you can spend on food.
Outstanding. The food was amazing, the service, impeccable. The whole experience elevates you to a different experience altogether as if to say: this is what a two michelin star restaurant is supposed to be.
I think the most importance thing for a restaurant is the food itself, which stands for first priority. the main course is not good in my opinion, the duck tastes very normal and can only be ranked as not bad comparing with those Michelin restaurants I tried in Paris.
The others are creative somehow unbalance the whole menu.
Service and ambiance are outstanding.
One of the best restaurant in Japan. Michelin stars, Asian top 50, OpenTable JP top 10.
One of the best Japanese French restaurant. This is my second visit to this restaurant. The pirce of lunch course is great. Worth at least a visit.
That was my fourth visit to the restaurant when I travel in Tokyo and I still felt excited for its food and services. Their Apple pie was so impressed. They arranged the vip room nearby the kitchen with excellent environment as good music. I highly recommend this restaurant for dinner gathering!
Simply the best restaurant we went during our Tokyo trip. My cousin went with me and he raved about how good this restaurant was in our entire trip.
The food was authentic, above-standard delicious, and every dish in the tasting menu was well-thought and executed. We opt for the juice pairing and it is worth it as it really enchance the pleasure you got from eating the dishes.
素敵な料理 最高な味わい、そして上質の接客サービスと癒し空間 大満足です。
We wanted to eat at a fine dining French restaurant and L'Effervescence did not disappoint. The food and matching wines were outstanding, inventive yet made with classic French technique/ The service is amazing (most of the waiters spoke English very well, which helped us to understand each course) and the ambience is great (not informal, but not stuffy or pretentious).
Went there for my anniversary. Each course was full of surprising.
Excellent food and service at this serene and beautiful Michelin starred restaurant. Foodies will rejoice as will those who can appreciate the value of wonderful food at lunch for a very reasonable price. We had had a lunch the day before at another restaurant that was almost the same price as LEffervescence but was very bad in comparison. Will return next time in Tokyo.
It’s not very often a meal is perfect from the greeting on arrival to the accompanied walk to the cab at the end — in between was flawless, inventive food and drink that built upon each and complemented each in a way that was natural and rooted in a deep understanding of the chef and producers. The friendly staff was attentive, professional, and fun — the pride and enthusiasm was contagious and merited. Easily a top ten meal of 2017!
One of the best French restaurants I have ever had. Excellent execution with local ingredients.
Great combination and balance of Japanese umami and French cuisine
Wine parking is amazing
Experienced sommelier is willing to share his knowledge
Outstanding cuisine. Dishes were creative and technicality of a very high standard. We had the 8 glasses wine pairing and 100 points to our Sommelier and choice of wines/sakes - had a selection of hard-to-find wines/sakes which matched the food superbly. Costs certainly reflects the high quality but worth a repeat visit.
Most of the most mesmerising meal I have had for this year . Top notch standard.
Another Michelin star experience on our worldwide endeavors to experience as many as possible in the current time when we have the opportunity to do so. Apart from finding the place in Tokyo, the experience was worthy of the high expectations we had. Excellent creative French-Japanese food with super wine pairing, professional attention to our wishes and food allergies and limitations, very good service. Zac, Ronald, Hiroshi took great quality care of us. The tea ceremony at the end was exquisite. The only thing I would add is more textures for “western” tastes, but no doubt the tastes and textures offered are true to the location and culture in which the restaurant operates. Very expensive, but very much worth it.
Value for money lunch course. exquisite taste delivered through innovative ways.
outstanding service and japanese hospitality thats extended to non-japanese speakers.
wondeful experience, wonderful foods, wonderful services!
Amazing restaurant. Food is an outstanding combination of French and Japanese cuisine with highest standards when it comes to quality of ingredients. Every single plate of our 8 course menu could amaze us. Wine pairing (focus on natural vines & nihonshu) recommended, as the sommelier does a great job matching the at times complex taste/aroma of the dishes with our booze. Service, again outstanding. Maybe the best I had in Japan so far. The whole experience of this restaurant is to step out of reality for a couple of hours and to indulge into a culinary experience on highest level. Will go again!
