Another Michelin star experience on our worldwide endeavors to experience as many as possible in the current time when we have the opportunity to do so. Apart from finding the place in Tokyo, the experience was worthy of the high expectations we had. Excellent creative French-Japanese food with super wine pairing, professional attention to our wishes and food allergies and limitations, very good service. Zac, Ronald, Hiroshi took great quality care of us. The tea ceremony at the end was exquisite. The only thing I would add is more textures for “western” tastes, but no doubt the tastes and textures offered are true to the location and culture in which the restaurant operates. Very expensive, but very much worth it.
Amazing restaurant. Food is an outstanding combination of French and Japanese cuisine with highest standards when it comes to quality of ingredients. Every single plate of our 8 course menu could amaze us. Wine pairing (focus on natural vines & nihonshu) recommended, as the sommelier does a great job matching the at times complex taste/aroma of the dishes with our booze. Service, again outstanding. Maybe the best I had in Japan so far. The whole experience of this restaurant is to step out of reality for a couple of hours and to indulge into a culinary experience on highest level. Will go again!
Interesting fusion of French techniques with Japanese ingredients, which were of the highest quality. Staff were excellent and very accommodating, which I especially appreciated since I was in a wheelchair and they took really good care to make me feel comfortable.
This place was AMAZING. The service was impeccable and the food was delicious. A true 5 star experience. Every dish was unique and delicious. The staff was very knowledgeable and incredibly friendly and welcoming. Came away from this dinner stuffed and very happy. Would definitely recommend for a Michelin experience in Tokyo
First of the service was excellent. Let’s talk about the food. My favorite dish was Just Like An Apple Pie. The other dishes flavors did not mesh well together. The turnip dish which was their signature dish was juicy but it lacks flavors, I think it needs a good protein to go with the dish. Overall, I was a bit disappointed for a two Michelin star restaurant.
Restaurant is small but cozy and clean. Service was good and the staff speaks very good english. The food plating was amazing. Ingredients were fresh. Every dish had a unique taste. We ordered a bottle of red wine but was not available. We were recommended another bottle and it was satisfying. The only thing I had to share is that I found a piece of hair half way into my dessert and it was disgusting. I would never had expected this to happen in a highly regarded restaurant in Japan! The restaurant apologized and gave me a new one (exactly the same dessert), but I was already full and disgusted. I would have expected a better explanation than just saying sorry. I didn't want to ruin my dinner with my friends and just sent the new dish back to the kitchen.
Overall experience was awesome until I saw the hair half way through my dessert...
The service from the staff is impeccable. Location was really neat and ambience of the restaurant gives a posh yet relaxing vibe to it. The wines recommended were exceptional. The food seems a little on the experimental side with flavors you can never find in common meals. I would say the taste is unique with everything that is put together.
The quality of the service was excellent. The food was delicious and creative. The private space that gave us , become the difference to be able to have a fantastic gastronomic experience. Was the differential , because in this way, we could have this opportunity since we traveled with our 10 month old baby. Perhaps in another well reputed restaurant, would not have the same opportunity.
Restaurant is located in the Roppongi area right pass a small cemetery. It is known for using natural and local ingredients and chef provided a 7-course prix fixe menu. Intimate table setting..most of the dining room tables faced their elegant and inviting garden. Easy listening light instrumental background music is played throughout the meal. Pigeon, spiny lobster, bean and shiso--flavored edible foam to begin the meal; Apple pie is stuffed with finely diced firefly squid, fennel, Japanese knotweed--cute presentation and delicious; Local mountain vegetables were gently cooked in whey, sansho ravigote, mushroom and black olive--impressive plating, showcase of various regional vegetables grown locally; Tokyo turnip, parsley, Basque ham & brioche--Simmered for four hours until tender, tasty and full of flavor; Sweet onion soup, chicken and bamboo shoot, cultured cream and shrimp caramel--creamy, well-seasoned and delicious; By the sixth course, we were given a set of eight different knives to choose from for the meat course. Pure race black pork roasted by wood fire, giant butterbur and blue cheese, sea lettuce, spring cabbage--Okinawa breed pork, a favorite, moist and tasty; dessert is the biwa-manger and amazake mousse, matcha cake, sweet clover flower ice cream --delectable and refreshing; Finally, Mignardises, Matcha, World Peace--nice presentation of chocolates. Chocolate lollipops displayed beautifully. The surprising lollipop center reminds me of the cool crackling pop rocks candy of the 80's..that sizzling sound as it dissolves in your mouth. Mignardises were a perfect gesture. A professional detailed demonstration of serving Matcha Tea wraps up the meal. Chef prepared slices of Special Cakes to take with us. Restaurant used several different servers to explain each course. Service was immaculate. Superb ambiance. Thoroughly enjoyed this fabulous and unforgettable meal..my first using French technique with Japanese flavors. Staff arranged taxi for our return.
Great ambience which won't make you fell too uptight while in a fine dining place. We also could find that chef really spent lots of efforts on improving the dining experiences and make every bite of the fusioned dish more enjoyable. However, not really satisfied with serving speed. From sitting down till the first dish/ wine .already 30-40 min late while the customers sitting latter than us already got served. Moreover, felt pressured after telling the restaurant given the feedbacks was "restaurant is very crowded tonight and kitchen was busy with the previous table". I don't think this the answer expected.
