Great atmosphere and service. Food is always delicious!

I cannot remember the last time I rated any Legal dining experience less than 5 stars. I ordered my “go to” dish which is the lemon caper grey sole. I’ve had it many times so I feel qualified to give an honest review of the dish. The sole was dry and crisp around the edges, cooked ok in the center. Needed a knife to cut the fish which is unusual. Bland steamed white rice similar to what comes out of a Chinese restaurant. There was not enough sauce on the fish to moisten the rice. I like my veggies cooked al dente. The broccoli was bordering on raw and again had no taste. I could have used a steak knife to cut the broccoli. My dining partner ordered the Anna’s Boston scrod. He deemed it non memorable and also had an issue with the dry bland steamed white rice. Our server Thomas G provided very good service. Restaurant is Covid compliant which is important to me. I hope that this experience was not a sign of things to come under the new management.

The food is always fresh and I love the sushi! Another good dining experience and a great wine selection!

The manager/reception person Mark was definitely not taking covid social distancing policy into consideration when seating people. In spite of the entire place being empty, he was seating people on top of each other at adjacent tables. When asked about this, he was quite belligerent and his reasoning was that the other patrons seated right next to us had “requested that particular table” and he stated “ I’m not going to refuse them the table they want”. Well Sir, all I can say is maybe you don’t realize we are dealing with a very serious pandemic with cases in our area rising - over 7 thousand per day. So Mark, if you are not willing to do the right thing for ALL your restaurant patrons, not just the ones who “want” a certain table then I would ask that the board of health take a visit to discuss with you your seating policies and we will just not be returning here - and this has been one of my favorite, most frequented restaurants in this area — until it’s under new management.

My understanding is that the Legal Seafoods chain has been sold to a new restaurant company and I hope this sale happens soon because the Legal brand has been going down hill for the last 5 years.

Bottom line is if you are concerned about safety and appropriate social distancing at an indoor eating establishment - do not choose this location.

The food was not what I typically get from Legal c .
The chowder was only Luke warm and the fish had a distinct iodine taste. Not worth the almost $200.00 I spent.

Service was excellent and food was very good! Just very small portions more like lunch though, we were still hungry afterwards. Having chicken and more fish in the menu would be great.

The food was amazing as usual. I had the swordfish and my husband had the fish tacos. We started with the tuna shashimi appetizer, which was out of this world! I have a gluten sensitivity and our waitress and the chef were amazingly accommodating. I can’t wait to back.

Michelle was an exceptional server! We really enjoyed our food was delicious. Our drinks were good as well. Very pleased overall with out lunch!!

Our waitress was great and our appetizers, the friend calamari and cauliflower were fantastic. We were just a little disappointed with our main meals. I ordered the warm lobster roll, which I had done before, and it was a dry with very little butter, and there were still shell pieces in the lobster. My friend's fried fish plate was a little overcooked. I have had many good meals there before so this was unusual and I will still go back to try it again.

Food hot and tasty, servers very attentive..

Scallops tasted bad. (Raw) little necks gritty. Sad to say after being a raving fan for 30 years - Legal is no longer a premier seafood restaurant.

Food and wine selections were excellent. Food quality outstanding. Service staff very friendly and helpful.
Atmosphere is casual and tables are spaced appropriately. Very good dining experience.

This was great

We have eaten here more than any other restaurant in the last 3-4 years and the food has always been good to very good. This past Saturday night the poor fair to poor and service terrible. Had a 7:15 reservation and was seated immediately. Ordered drinks at 7:20 got the drinks at 7:35. Ordered the food then and got our food at 8:10.

We had the best waitress. Friendly and attentive

They have a limited menu to eat there but have a more extensive take out menu. They should allow you to order more from take out menu at the restaurant

Had to eat outside since inside was very crowded.Did not look safe enough with minimal social distancing. Very surprised, It was extremely cold outside so that made the ambience very disappointing. Won’t go back until summer!

This restaurant takes all the precautions. Tables spaced out. The food is always great here. I would’ve liked to see more in the “seasonal “ salad. Maybe cranberries and roasted winter squash. The waitress was excellent. Will definitely be back.

No choices, no raw shellfish small portions and expensive

Our server was a gentleman and we was great. He was attentive and kind. The food was delicious. We come there for the sushi boat for my husband. Always good food!!

During Covid, I must admit I was not expecting how well they had all the diners sufficiently distanced. Of course the meal was just as awesome as any of the Legal Seafood restaurants standards. I have eaten in at least 3 different ones. I highly recommend getting back out into society as long as you take the precautions the medical professionals recommend!

Ate lunch outside dining. Obviously in a parking lot, ambiance is lacking but service and waitress were great. We both had fish sandwich which was rather dry/overcooked. Fries that went with it were great.

We are regulars but unfortunately this time it was average at best. Many employees had masks but weren’t covering their noses which made it not worthy of going there.

It was nice to get out and enjoy the day. We always have good food and good service at Legal C.

Crabmeat is great! Service was good. Drinks also fine.

Not a great night , no draft beer at all, something about the lines not being ready?? The apts were good but the tuna was overcooked, the service was inattentive.

My salmon was cooked to perfection and my husband’s lobster roll was fabulous.

This was our first time at the Derby Shops location. It really had no atmosphere at all and was like a big cafeteria. Putting that aside, we looked forward to our meals and we enjoyed our caesar salad. The entrees were good, although the swordfish was quite thin, I enjoyed my scrod very much. The waitress seemed almost frantic dropping off items and taking them away. She tried hard but we felt her stress. The noise level was almost impossible to be able to carry on a conversation. Nothing was majorly wrong but it was certainly not a relaxing or pleasing environment We probably will not go back.

This has always been our go-to on the South Shore. So glad that they are back up and running. Took care of my toddler right away brining him everything he needed, much appreciated. Great cocktails and always a good atmosphere!

Normally, I love Legal C and would always recommend. Our last visit led to an entrée salad that was so salty, I couldn't eat it. I brought it home, thinking the dressing sitting overnight would help the flavors mix with the salt, but no dice. Threw it out. Disappointing for a bday celebration.

Jumbo shrimp were far from jumbo, and not your typical shrimp cocktail. My wife and I both had the crabmeat rolls and we both felt that they tasteless, but on the plus side, the French fries were delicious. We will chaulk it up to Covid 19 and give Legal C a mulligan, and try them again post pandemic
