Legal Sea Foods - King of Prussia
Our service was very good. However, it took an extremely long time for our meals. Our server apologized and 10 minutes later the manager apologized for the wait. We were expecting a great meal, that was not the case. My scallops were hot but the sides were cold. My sons shrimp/pasta dish was also disappointing. His pasta was unevenly cooked and his shrimp we’re overcooked. My husbands sides were also not seasoned and cold.
It was my husband’s birthday and his dinner was a huge let down. We thought that the manager would offer us a discount since we waited over an hour for our meals...No discount!!!!! Oh they did give him a small dessert for his birthday.
Always a pleasant experience. Same staff has been there for years and that means something! On top of that, we had a new waitress this time. Valerie was engaging, funny, and handled our requests perfectly.
just not what it used to be. food was just OK. we asked for mashed potatoes rather than rice and got mashed. each ordered a glass of wine. waiter brings one- had to ask where is the other.
We hadn’t been to Legal Seafood in about 3-4 years, and I remember it being better than it was this time. Our server was great and the restaurant’s atmosphere was very nice but there were less items on the menu than I remember and our entrees were just okay, not bad but not great either. We had the crab dip for an appetizer and it was delicious, the dip was our favorite part of the meal.
Our waiter was great. Really understood the menu, especially the gluten free we needed. Trouble was when we got our doggy bags, which had half our meals in them since we had eaten an appetizer first. They brought us someone elses food. Ours was lost. He comped on our check but it was still creepy and sortof spoiled the evening.
Problem seemed to be the poor guy had about 6 tables, one of which was a table of 8?
My wife and I planned to eat at King of Prussia. I have frequently eaten at Legal in Boston. The lighter clam chowder is a more recent entry and a good option from the heavier New England version. My tuna was very tasty and cooked well. My wife's salmon was moist and delicious. We should have asked for the sauce on the salmon to bo on the side as the fish did not need it.
Leslie does a marvelous job and has a regular following which is clear evidence of her great service. Our diner on Saturday was delightful and the lobsters were done perfectly. You should keep the Oyster Fest on the menu because they are terrific. Thanks again.
Awesome waitress and quick sitting and food was worth the price. Will recommend to my friends and Family .
We love Legal Sea Food! This location was, like the others we've visited, outstanding.
Good food but way overpriced.
They’ve really scaled back their menu. They have eliminated some classic entrees and changed the format of the dishes. The food is still good but not as flexible.
We enjoyed our meal, although noticed a significant difference in the food itself; we ordered the Fried Clam platter and noticed that the clams were different (much smaller than usual and seemed almost more like strips than full-bellied clams) and that the batter was a lot lighter. We liked the new batter but would have preferred the other clams. The rest of the meal was excellent.
As regular patrons of the K of P restaurant we made a reservation beforehand which really reduces the waiting time for a table. As usual, we sat in the same area near the oyster bar and had our usual server, Leslie, who did an outstanding job. Her enthusiasm for the job and her friendly demeanor make dining at this restaurant a real pleasure and keeps us coming back. Moreover, we admire Leslie's resourcefulness and transparency in recommending the best oysters of the day and the approximate waiting time for steamed lobsters, all of which help us in terms of gauging our time. The lobsters are delicious and go well with French fries, but not with mashed potatoes as listed on the menu. Further, we noticed that the dinner menu is downsizing so many fewer entrees than before. This will not affect us unless LS eliminates steamed lobsters from the menu. Please promise you won't do that.
All told, a great dining experience and, as they say, "We''ll be back!"
All the tables are next to each other like Cheesecake Factory—zero privacy. Portions are very small, and thus doubly expensive. You’ll be much happier at Bone Fish Grille if you want box chain seafood.
I really appreciate that they pay attention to food allergies.
Have been to Legal Seafood many times but this past visit is the last. Food has definitely gone down hill. The cioppino and fishermen's platter have always been reliable standbys. Cioppino no longer even resembles the authentic dish. It's now nothing but a small amount of seafood served with a pedestrian tomato sauce. Unfortunately the fishermen's platter has also been made over for the worse. Came to the table with far less seafood but worst part is everything was greasy and soggy.
It was okay. Nothing incredible. It wasn’t anything that I’d go back for anything specific for.
Great service. The waitress cane by several times and was very helpful in giving us ideas of where to go to accomplish what we try to get done.
Fried food is great although it’s grossly overpriced with a few clusters of shellfish and French fries bringing the balance. The waitress came by and served fresh rolls a few times, which was great.
The tartar sauce was a bit too salty. Could tune down a bit.
Fresh seafood cooked to perfection! One of the few places to get full clams not just strips.
First time dining and really enjoyed it! The bang bang cauliflower is a must!
After we returned home from our meal at Legal Seafoods we received a nasty-gram from Open Table that we had not honored our reservation. We had clearly announced our reservation time and party name. The tone was accusatory, lecturing and had a "guilty till proven innocent" feel. We replied with our table number and server name and received a curt apology. That mix-up explains why we were seated in a cramped noisy area near the bar and the hostess would not reseat us although there were many empty tables for 2. As for the service, it was disappointing at best. Our waitress came to take our food order before she asked if we would like drinks. The food was very average at best. My baked cod was very bland and tasteless. After the waitress collected our empty plates, she returned with the check, not asking us if we were considering coffee or dessert. Well, that made our decision for us. We have been to this same Legal Seafood establishment many times before but never had an experience so disappointing.
I had the crab cake and salad for lunch. It was positively delicious. All lump crab with very little filler. Caesar salad was a little soggy, but still good.
We had a lovely celebratory dinner. The staff was fabulous. Not the best value, but what can I say, we were celebrating.
Legal Seafood has always been our “go to” for special occasions. I noted it was for a birthday. I didn’t really expect anything, but was disappointed there was no mention of a birthdayby the server. Why did you ask? We had simple meals, yet service was so slow we were there almost 2 1/2 hours. Server was pleasant, however in all that time he never stopped by to refill glasses, etc. he also requested we clear our own placemats before dessert. At 4:30pm I expected much better service. Food was very good, as always
We took our family for a celebration meal in the early afternoon. Our server was attentive and the food was wonderful! The hot lobster rolls were delish.
I was with my friend, who I haven’t seen in years. Our service, the food and the ambiance were perfect. Thank you!
We arrived for a late dinner at 8:45p on a Tuesday night. We were promptly seated on a table on the quiet side of the restaurant opposite the crowd. Normally, I would’ve appreciated this arrangement. However, after the only other table in our area got up to leave, and being that we were eating our meal during the last hour of the restaurant’s operation, the staff began cleaning and vacuuming the immediate area around us mid-meal. That was quite rude and annoying. Not to mention we couldn’t have a conversation until they finished, turned off the vacuum, and left. A good manager would’ve caught that, but nobody did.
Food and service quality was alright, nothing special today, just plan ok. We understand it’s the tail end of the day, but over the years we have come to expect a high level of food and service quality from Legal...sadly the they just didn’t have it today.
Legal is still one of our favs for decades in MA. This was the 2nd time we’ve tried this location in King of Prussia, PA. Sadly, today they didn’t measure up to what we’ve come to expect.
Offers a wide variety of dishes, everything we had was delicious.
We have always enjoyed Leagal Seafoods. The food is so fresh and the servers and especially the bartender are lovely. It really is our favorite go to restaurant. And added to everything else , the number of gluten free options makes this a perfect lunch after shopping, or mid week quick date night .
We had not been there in a long time and it was even better than I remembered. Great food and our waitress Marissa was very kind, patient and helpful to us in making our choices. We will be back sooner rather than later.
Great food, efficient and friendly service and great music that was audible but not overwhelming.
Our large(r) party was mostly fish/seafood eaters and the food certainly met expectations. Two young adults decided instead to share a steak and the order came out on one plate, and our server never bothered to bring a second. (We were very clear about the meal being shared. ) Drinks were standard fare but often we waited for another, and usually it was served one at a time. All in all it was a pleasant evening and the small complementary birthday cake/cupcake made my daughter very happy. Thanks.
Quick and easy business lunch with plenty of room and medium noise level.
I got the special and it was served with sides that were not advertised. ( asparagus was anticipated) Would have appreciated options to something else rather than the choice made for me and just delivered to the table. Dinner rolls were served well into my dinner. Other than mentioned, overall was okay.
The food and the service were outstanding the waitress was very attentive to our needs
The staff was attentive without being overbearing, the surroundings were tastefully done & the food was amazing.
Was very disappointed that they are no longer offering Ipswich Clams which is why I went. Also the Crabcake was very salty
Come here often with family. Menu has gotten smaller. Not as many choices.
