Great dining experience! Beautiful food, lovely and safe atmosphere, wonderful service. So glad we dined there!

This is our favorite restaurant on Martha’s Vineyard. The food is always excellent, and the service is friendly and professional. The ambience of the tent with its lighting and heaters when necessary is very nice and comfortable. All protections are observed. Lovely restaurant.

L’etoile is so good we ate there the last two nights they were open for season. In fact, we ate there EVERY Saturday night throughout July to October when they closed! We felt very fortunate that they were able to open the summer under the Covid conditions. They did a great job.

L’etoile is a must if you’re eating out on Martha’s Vineyard!

The menu has something for every palate. Chef Michael provides a delicious cuisine.

I worried that L’Etoile would be stuffy and bougie, with conservative menu offerings. I was wrong! It is a sophisticated and subtly laidback place with knowledgeable and friendly staff. We enjoyed local oysters on the half shell (superb with inventive accompaniments); a gnocchi first course that amazed me: light and fluffy gnocchi that any Nonna would approve, with wonderful truffle and wild mushrooms; perfectly cooked duck breast and halibut mains. Finally, a true mousse au chocolat with cherries! All of this was expensive but totally worth it. Our waiter made great wine suggestions throughout. We will be back.

If you only have time to go to one restaurant on Martha’s Vineyard, L’etoile is a must!! The menu is varied and delicious. The servers are outstanding; attentive, knowledgeable, efficient and pleasant. They make eating “a dining experience.”

We truly appreciated the opportunity to enjoy fine dining, in a safe setting to celebrate a milestone wedding anniversary. L’ETOILE did a very good job with the outdoor seating. Food was outstanding, and the service was lovely.

L'Etoile set up a really wonderful outdoor tent to accommodate diners during COVID-19 restrictions. The day before our dinner I took a peek and was really impressed with how the outdoor terrace was turned into a very romantic place for dinner. I would like to mention that when we first arrived a the reserved time, the hostess attempted to seat us in a not so favorable table on the street front that was pretty uninspiring, no flowers on. the tables or decorative accents whatsoever, but I asked to be moved to the beautifully decorated main tent, which she did. After we had found the perfect table to enjoy our special dinner, we thoroughly did! The Gazpacho was tasty, my husband started with oysters. The Lobster Etuvee was to die for, I could have licked the plate (no, I did not...)! The whole dinner was delicious, our waitress friendly and attentive. L'Etoile is a bit pricier than many establishments in Edgartown but well worth it.

It is difficult to rate a fine restaurant during Covid; outside dinning on a card table with partial tent covering but cold; food was cold; service friendly but slow. Maybe next year.

Everything about dinner was perfect except possibly the weather. I don’t often remember meals after a few days. This meal I remember all dishes in detail. Halibut and lamb chops cooked perfectly. Delicious crisp and flavorful spinach’s salad. Tender octopus with strong flavors and of course the Sea Salt Caramel gelato with multiple sauces and glazed nuts.

Delicious meal even the wind storm couldn’t take away from it.

The gnocchi was superb and the etuvée of lobster was as good as my best memories of that dish in the past. To pull this off in difficult pandemic times is impressive.

We have been dining at L’Etoile every year since it opened. It has consistently been the best restaurant on Martha’s Vineyard. You will not be disappointed.

Superb ambiance , wonderful food and great waiters. It’s a must if you plan to visit Nantucket.

The food is fabulous, the duck is outstanding. The service is knowledgeable and friendly. The ambience is absolutely outstanding.

One of the best restaurant experiences I’ve had to date! Beautiful setting outside with the lights and lanterns in the tents. My table ordered the steaks, duck breast, and fresh caught tuna - all entrees were delicious! This place has a spot at the top of many restaurant lists for a reason.

Superb food and excellent service! Reflecting on outdoor dining however: a tent with closed sides and our table’s proximity to a large and exuberantly partying table gave us concern in retrospect.

Food was excellent! Foie Gras was charred which I’ve never had before. We will be back!

Had a lovely evening for our anniversary outside on the lawn. Good to see the staff and customers still providing great service and being cognizant of COVID concerns.

Everything was excellent. We enjoyed the gnocchi, short ribs, lobster entree and duck and everything exceeded our expectations

My favorite on the island ! You can never go wrong here. I think they were a little understaffed for this night I was there a little to long on service but that's not the normal.

L'Etoile is one of my & my husband's favorite restaurants. Perfect for our wedding anniversary every year- still wonderful- Despite Covid precautions, food, service & atmosphere remain excellent- and they adhere to all safety precautions.

The Lobster Pappardelle was outstanding. And the service was great. We so very happy to be outside and under the tent. Beautiful evening and wonderful way to spend our anniversary. I highly recommend this restaurant!

What a special treat this beautiful restaurant experience was!!

We have been on a two week trip celebrating our anniversary with another couple. We have been eating the dinners down the coast from Bar Harbor to the Vineyard and after our dinner here, it unanimously topped the charts at number 1. Both men had the Lamb Choos and the ladies had the Surf and Turf. Both to perfection I started with the Grilled Octopus and the the other couple had the Foie Agra’s. Perfect. We ended it with the Peach, Rhubarb and Blueberry Cobbler No anniversary dinner is with without Champagne and Laurent Perrier was the perfect touch. It wasn’t cheap, but Kayla provided incredible service and the food was just perfectly cooked with incredible flavors.

Needs to be 10% better and 5% less expensive. Also some tables are basically in their garden (in the bushes).
