Awesome Asian food at reasonable prices
We highly recommend you visit this little gem.
Thank you very much. We are so happy that you enjoyed our cuisine.
We arrived to Little Huong about ten minutes late but I rang prior to advise this. On arrival there were only 3 tables with diners. One table had finished and about to leave. The food is very high standard, however the service from the young lady was pretty slow. I ordered a glass of wine but then had to wait for it because a walk in customer came in for takeaway and the waitress decided to take the lady's order first before delivering my drink. Should be the other way round with the service. No proper ceiling and the front door was ajar as they had a smoke problem in the kitchen. Thus it was so cold in the restaurant. I saw some blankets were supplied but I suggested getting a couple of gas heaters in there for winter to make the restaurant and patrons warm and give a better ambience. Overall the food was good but service leaves a little bit to be desired when there was only a couple of tables dining. I would hate to think what the standard of the service would be like if the restaurant is full. It would maybe take another promotional discount before we would be back.
Michael. We rely on such feedback to keep us on our toes, and I'm glad you enjoyed our cuisine. Yes, you are right. Service should not have been slow that evening and should have been prompt and prioritised. The Manager has been informed and will most certainly rectify this. We don't have a smoke problem in the kitchen but we do have an issue with our a/c system on very cold nights which struggles to warm the space. We are dealing with this. The exposed ceiling is a design intention btw. ^_^
Awesome service. Staff friendly and willing to help out on anything needed.
Food was amazing especially the beef rengdang.
Will be back!
Thank you very much LaurenK! Glad you enjoyed it
Some of the dishes were outstanding but the Waygu beef was inedible. We complained to the manager who removed it from our bill and apologised. The rest of our meal was great. The Lamb Rogan Josh was outstanding as was the chili oysters. Unfortunately the ambience was lacking in that it was so cold in the restaurant we couldn't remove our coats.
Hey MoyraA. Thank you for the invaluable feedback. We apologise for the Wagyu beef and the temperature in the restaurant the evening that you dined. Cold nights in Little Bay can sometimes be difficult for our heating system to cope. We are disappointed the Wagyu cut that we served you was not great. We source MBS5+ grain fed wagyu oyster blade cut - which can come with some sinew. We will endeavour to ensure a better dining experience for you next time.
The food is delicious - thank you for organising all the food for our little party!
Was a pleasure ErinS. Thanks very much :)
Meat is nice and tender, taste perfect and a good value.
Thanks so much WinnyS!
A hidden gem. We were looking for something ‘different’ and found this place purely by chance.
The menu is a mix of multiple Asian cuisines and offers a variety of options to suit your taste.
The decor is tastefully executed and so is the food.
Hit dishes for us we’re the mix mushroom entree, the rendang and the curry chicken.
Definitely surprised us and we shall be back soon.
Well done team Little Hutong
Thank you very much. See you again soon!
My husband and I always enjoy the Little hutong dining. Dishes are nice and fresh. Natasha always make you feel welcome and provide great service.
Thank you so much for your kind words and appreciation of our cuisine! See you again next time :)
Always enjoy dining here. Most intriguing menu. Staff wonderful and engaging. Food outstanding and incredible value for money.
If you have not experienced for yourself then you are missing out on a truely, yet little know, local gem of an establishment
Thanks so much ChrisD! We look forward to hosting you again soon
We absolutely loved our experience at Little Hutong. The food was delicious, we loved the special Chinese New Year Lion dance & the waitress was very helpful. We came with several kids who all demanded a return visit!
Thank you very much!
Loved it! They were out of a few dishes but what we had was delicious!!
The Malaysian fushion food here is wonderful. The traditional Malay dishes are superb and the fushion dishes are interested and yummy. This neighbourhood gem is worth the trip from anywhere in Sydney.
Tasty food with a great variety of menu choices. Becoming a local favourite!
The food is of an excellent standard. Great mix of spices , very flavoursome. Extensive selection of dishes. Reasonably priced for the quality.
HelgaN. Was a pleasure to host you. WE take great pride in our food and creative approach to asian fusion cuisine. We are deeply grateful for customers that appreciate our cuisine.
We had a lovely family dinner. The service was attentive and friendly. We love the location and we love the menu. It’s comfort food presented beautifully and the produce is fresh and tasty. Definitely on our list of go to places for a family friendly, casual yet special meal!
We booked a table for 2 at 5:45 to enjoy the Lunar new Year show as adverised on fb. I tried to call the restaurant the next day (Friday) to confirm and get some information but nobody picked up the phone as they open only at night on the weekdays. They called me later and they left me a message asking to be there at 5:30. They promised a complimentary entree. We could not make it before 5:45. When we arrived we were told we could not order food until the end of the show. We order a couple of traditional Malaysian teas. The waitresses not long after started to come to the table to take our order when the show was not even started. We never got our teas: when we were ready to order food about 15 min later, we asked about our drink and guess what they did not have the traditional Malaysian tea. They told us we got an old menu by mistake. We ordered some wontons to start with, Laksa with prawns and coconut rice with curried beef. The wontons were just ok but the rest of the food was outstanding.
We also got some matcha tea and a coconut milkshake.
The lion dance show was great but my date was expecting fire crackers as well as advertised. I guess they were cancelled because of the poor weather.
When I paid the bill at the register, I was approached by a man who called my name and asked me how was everything and if I had been to the restaurant before. I did not want to be the drama customer so I said that the food was good and that we came out mainly because of the show. I was honestly disappointed with the service and embarassed I could not strike my date with an outstand overall dining experience as I hoped for.
We did not receive anything complimentary.
We were pleasantly surprised at the quality interesting food. The servings were generous and very well presented. The service was efficient and friendly. We were entertained by the Valkerie trio who played great Jazz and the lead singer Joy Yhang was amazing !!
Loved the meal. Could be more spicy but will ask the next time. Looking forward to coming back.
Great atmosphere and decor, with a tasteful menu, Little Hutong is bound to please those with an appetite for modern Asian cuisine. Service is attentive, however portions are slightly smaller than one might expect from the price point. Bring your trendy friend or your mum; the restaurant is chic but approachable.
We love it here, Natasha and George are always excellent as is the food. Get in quick for the crispy pork belly :)
The food has soooo much flavour, see you again soon!
Everything was wonderful except the waitress who served us as we were 25 min late and our booking is 5.30 pm. When we arrived I told her that I have booking at 5.30 pm and she said well it is 6 pm now. I think that was a bit rude otherwise foods are beautiful.
Foods are not bad but the service was really bad! We hv to wait for almost an hour for our desserts. What the he'll!
Offered blankets when it got a little chilli.
Loved the live music.
i am a regular diner at Little Hutong and have always enjoyed it. great dinning experience in a modern restaurant. great service and good variety of food. I would recommend it.
Little Hutong is a family favourite of ours. The food is delicious but mostly the staff are most welcoming and friendly who make you feel at home and almost like family. Bravo to everyone there. Little Hutong is a real gem.
