The food is very creative and delicious. We especially enjoyed the mixed seafood with black and red rice, which can be made without pork. The service was excellent as well.
AMAZING! AMAZING! AMAZING! AMAZING! AMAZING! AMAZING!
Every dish was great - filled with flavor and very interesting. Would highly recommend.
Excellent service & tasty food.
This is our favorite place in Redondo Beach. The food is amazing and the service is always outstanding especially if your waiter is John. We love the dumplings, bao buns, lobster, clams with mussels and so many more dishes. They have great Happy Hour specials.
Love the food !!!!! Tried both and both are great !!! The salt and pepper lobster does it for me !!!!
Extremely loud to the point it is hard to have a conversation. Service was definitely off. Hostess was in over her head and not able to manage. Waiter and bartender were also struggling to keep up.
Would not recommend for weekend dinners. Waitstaff is overwhelmed by a full house and food is poorly executed. My dish was burned and the appetizer was soggy. I have dined here on weeknights and the food and service were better when there weren't alot of patrons. Overall, the flavors are good but service and execution are not worth the price.
The service toward the end of the evening was a little slow. I think there was only one actual waiter and the rest were support staff. Other than that we had a great evening.
My husband and I visited Little Sister in Redondo Beach for a belated Valentine's lunch. We were so pleased with the quality of the food and service. Our server made some great menu suggestions and we weren't disappointed. Everything we tried had that umami quality that opens up your taste buds, and even the cocktails are carefully crafted to compliment the food. We will be back!
Little Sister has been a go-to for quite a few years now for both myself and my wife. We also frequent this establishment with another couple from time to time. The atmosphere is quaint and the restaurant overall is never too loud. You can always hear the conversation across the table from you. The menu has a wide variety of delicious dishes that range from mild to spicy and the presentation is simple yet elegant. If you order the lobster, which is one of my favorites, be sure to save a little and ask them to take the leftovers and make a lobster fried rice with it (you won't find that on the menu!) It's a shared plate restaurant and one dish I never miss when I'm there is the Shakey Shakey Beef. It's incredible!
Overall, the service is usually really good with lively servers that are familiar with the menu and often recommend great pairings of libations when it comes to specific dishes. If you like to spice things up just a bit, they have a few house sauces and oils on the table at all times which I add to just about everything! When it comes time to enjoy a cocktail I recommend the "Mamba" or something like it as it brings a bit of sweet to counter all the rich spices that certain dishes can bring. We are always met with a smile from the host or hostess as well as any other wait-staff including the bartender if sitting at the bar.
I would highly recommend making a reservation and bringing an appetite! Little Sister does not disappoint!
We’ve been here a couple of times now and really like it. Brian made this visit even better!
Service was wonderful. Food, amazing as always. We’ll definitely be back!
Great food & service!
We eat here frequently and we really love their food; however, their salt and pepper lobster was meatless and definitely not worth 43$. I know what not to order next time. Hopefully their intake hostess will be there so we won't have to wait 7 min for anyone to greet us on our next visit.
Great ambiance and amazing food.
This was just terrific! We had been to their other location, in Manhattan Beach, but this is a much nicer arrangement. The space is roomier and just more comfortable.
We were there for LA Restaurant Week, and, of course, there was a special menu. It was also happy hour, so they provided us with three menus, including the regular one. They have some drink specials (although only bottled, not draft beer) and some attractive looking appetizers. We ended up not having drinks and sticking to the Restaurant Week menu, although I’d love to go back another time and try the other things.
Our menu included choices of three appetizers, three entrees and a house dessert.
The appetizers we chose were the Prawns on a stick and the pork and shrimp dumplings. Both were excellent, although a bit spicy and not for the faint hearted. Still, excellent.
For entrees, we had the fried lemongrass chicken, also a little spicy, but “fingerlickin’ good, and the “shaky shaky” beef, which was very nicely done and served with rice and a watercress salad. Truly wonderful!
The dessert was a small chocolate covered red velvet cake “ding dong” with drunken cherries on top and very good whipped cream on the side, with a dusting of cocoa powder.
Service was very good, friendly and enthusiastic.
If this was any indication, the others dishes will be worth having.
Little Sister’s “twists” on traditional Asian fare fall just short of interesting, and the prices do not match the experience.
My BFF and I went to enjoy the DineLA lunch special. It was fantastic! The Vietnamese coffee hit the spot on a dreary day. We both ordered the Laotian Larb Gai which was like a party in your mouth and Pho Bo with all the accoutrements. The slaw arrived first & I could not get over the variety of flavors. Each bite seemed to awaken my flavor senses. I will definitely be back for more! The pho had great flavor & adding the yummy sauces, herbs & veggies increased the fun factor.
Our server was Brian and he was amazing! He seated me while I was waiting for my friend to arrive. I felt welcomed from the moment I walked in. He checked in with us regularly & we had some great little discussions since the crowds had not arrived yet. Brian should be who hires/trains everyone in the waitstaff world!
I will definitely be returning to try out more of their delicious entrees & experience.
We enjoy everything we had so far. Been to the LA and Redondo beach locations, but RB is little better. Service though could improve a little.
Went for dinela menu, had the pork and chicken skewers, and the prawns with cashew curry both were delicious. For entrees we had the snapper with peanut and bean sauce, lemongrass chicken, and shaky shaky beef and we augmented the menu with the fried lobster and then had lobster fried rice, expensive but excellent. The red velvet version of a ding dong was the perfect bite.
Food portions weren’t what I expected
Spectacular meal on the DineLA menu. I’ve also really enjoyed eating here on other occasions. Highly recommended.
Lacked a bit of care and foresight in the service. The majority of the group had pho, but we had to ask for spoons. Our individual appetizers were left for us to distribute after the server left them all on the corner where we had an empty seat.
Such a fun night with friends. Manager/owner was absolutely phenomenal,,server was fine. The food and levels of flavors where amazing.
This restaurant is consistently excellent. The food is delicious.
Outstanding food and service! Waiter gave us great recommendations!
Great service with unique food
One of my favorite restaurants in the South Bay. The food is wonderfully fresh with the perfect blend of exotic flavors and quality ingredients.
You must try the “goi du du” Green Papaya Salad, Saigon Lemongrass Beef, and the Snapper. Their menu is seasonal so things might change a bit but I have never been disappointed by the food.
Superb food, very different from your usual South East Asian food, strong and unique. Obinagions and tastes. It’s now become our local go-to restaurant, and a place we always take visitors.
Food was tasty and delicious, surprisingly spicy so beware.
Amazing food and even better service. We thoroughly enjoyed the braised pork belly. Very tender and flavorful.
The food was excellent!! So much flavor in every bite!
Great flavors and service, nice room!
It is the rare dinner out that has my wife and I talking about it the next morning, but our experience at Little Sister had us doing just that. The experience did not begin well, as due to some miscommunication on the part of the staff, we sat for almost 15 minutes before anyone came to serve us. We were literally a minute from walking out. But, that would have been a terrible mistake on our part. Our server, Julia, made it up to us. It was her first night serving tables, as she is usually at the bar. She made sure that we forgot about the wait for service by helping us with menu selections and keeping our wine and water full throughout the meal. As it was our first time, we decided to sample from the happy hour menu (3pm-7pm) to start. Best choice we made as we sampled pork & seafood dumplings (excellent), saigon beef noodles (good), and chicken & lemongrass (outstanding). We opted for a large plate of the chicken and lemongrass to fill us up, and it was simply outstanding too!. All dishes were wonderfully spiced, but not mouth-on-fire spicy like other places. The tastes stimulated the whole palate, leaving one with a very satisfying dining experience. We will most certainly be back. Prices are what we expect for a great dining experience, but corkage at $25 a bottle is a little high. Otherwise, an excellent experience overall.
A beautiful birthday dinner of Managers (Tim) choice! The Lobster Fried rice was insane (even the next day). Everything is delicious🙏
Had a great date night out with my fiancé on Friday night and were taken care of by James the bartender. Awesome octopus salad followed by the pork chop for me. Had some really good cocktails by James as well that we’re well balanced and smooth. Definitely a happening place and would return again!
Our server was inattentive, and it took 1 hour from our reservation time to get our first dish. Food was delicious, service was not great.
Absolutely love this restaurant! The food is incredible the wait staff is always on top of their game and Probably the best lobster we've ever had in our lives!
The food was unforgettable as our service was poor.
