Local on North - Roswell
Very good food, short wait time, expensive but portions sizeable. Wonderful music attracted pedestrians who didn't always respect social distancing, even when carrying an infant! Love the outdoors seating under canopy.
We went there for Mother’s Day 2020. The food was amazing! We were able to sit outside and enjoy. The roasted vegetable bisque was amazing!!
Everything was prepared well and was delicious!
Great service! The menu didn't have an overwhelming selection and food was delicious. Really good cocktails from the bar (Try the Georgia Peach Manhattan!). Wonderful musician playing on the patio, as well.
We will definitely be back and have already told many of our friends about Local!
Food was wonderful
Tables very close together, noice loud
Try fabric somewhere in back restaurant.
Snapper special great
We had a reservation and were seated right away. The food was tasty, although it was a little bit pricey. Luckily we had a gift card. Our waiter was good, friendly.
Excellent food and service. We had to wait awhile beyond our reservation but that was only complaint.
Food and service were great. We come here often for the food and the bistro setting. Specials are always worth checking out.
Group of 6 wine drinkers and we were disappointed in the wine selection. Small selection of inexpensive wines which over priced for the brand. Food and service amazing!
Great service and the bang bang shrimp are fantastic!
Valentines Dinner. Had a 7 pm reservation. Fixed price menu. First bite of food came at exactly 8 pm. Otherwise solid experience.
Valentine's day Prix Fix dinner, presented well but as for taste it was nothing that impressive. Small portions for $49/pp. especially the super small desserts. Staff was great.
Not likely to return, plenty of more impressive food options in Roswell.
We sat immediately upon arrival no wait with your reservations. Bit cold when we arrived but again they kindly increased the temperature.
Food was very good and delighted our family.
Our server was excellent and friendly. Hostess was also nice and assisted with serving drinks.
Special occasion was a Birthday dinner for my husband and the wait staff brought a Dessert that was excellent.
My husband and I had a great time at our first visit to Local on North last weekend. We both ordered the specials, I had the snapper and he had the New York strip. His entire dish was delicious and my fish was truly yummy. My only critique would be the potatoes that my fish were sitting on were seriously undercooked.Nonetheless, we enjoyed our drinks, salad and dinner. The service was very good and the ambience, although the tables are stacked pretty tightly together on the left side of the restaurant (where we were sitting at a two top) was nice. We’ll be back! :)
We walked in and from the moment we were there, we could tell that it was going to be interesting. We told the bartender that we had a reservation. We had got there about 7:20 so we had 10 mins to wait. The bartender was the acting host as well. Which if your are going to be Roswell Restaurant Week, then I think you should be fully staffed. We asked to sit a four top and he has told us no because he was saving it for a 6top. But they had other options for the six. So we finally sit down and it took 10 mins for someone to come over and get us drinks and water. We decided to do the $25 menu. The salad was goos but the dressing not so much. I got the steak and the birthday girl got the linguine with the clams. The steak was very chewy for it being medium. With the linguine, she only got 5 clams. Dessert was next. We each got one for the 2 dessert from the rrw menu. The creme brûlée’s was not a tart. A tatted need a pie crust to be considered a tart and I got the chocolate chip bread budding. All it was a slice of bread with chocolate chips in it. And then the server brought us a dessert from the other menu. It was fried chocolate cake. It wasn’t very good. Overall the food was bad and the service sucked and everything was pretty bad. They didn’t even wish my friend a happy birthday. With it being Roswell Restaurant week, you want to pull people in with your menu so they come back. I would not go back at all.
Had reservation for 7 p.m. Seated at 7:10..so far everything o.k. At 7:30 someone asked if we would like water and/or a drink. At 8:00p.m. someone finally takes the order which was served at 8:40 p.m . Paid and left without ordering dessert but had to go to the bar to get someone to give us a bill at 9:15p.m.
Place was packed for Restaurant Week. Had one full time server and 1 part time server/bartender for the entire restaurant. Bang Bang shrimp appetizer was very good....blackened grouper was a great disappointment! Seasoning had no ingredients associated with blackened groupon. Was not only not blackened, but was under-cooked with an orange tint to it. Terrible outing for our anniversary !
Very tight seating and we went on a busy night. Looking forward to when patio opens and live music.
The menu, service and food was very good and delicious. We will be back again soon.
This location is very convenient and traffic is not bad.
Food was delicious, but the tight seating made the noise level a little louder. Great find, will go again. Peppercorn encrusted tuna with Brussell sprouts was very good!
Good food, good service. We’ll be back!
I was very pleasantly surprised by 'Local on North' - I didn't really know what to expect, and what we got was a very high quality experience. We started with the Goat Cheese croquette, which was delicious, although small (it is 1 croquette - splittable for 2 people, but not really more). We then both had salads, which were generously sized, very fresh and delicious. My main course was a Snapper special, and it was a beautifully composed dish. Perfectly cooked snapper, delicious polenta, roasted tomatoes, and green beans. The basic description doesn't sound like anything special, but it all came together beautifully. My wife had the lemon chicken, which was extremely juicy and flavorful.
About the only negative I have is that's a pretty cramped space, and half of the restaurant has what I call "european seating" - tables side by side, fairly close together. I'm not a fan of sitting so close to other tables, but I understand the need for it in this space.
Food as always was good ... however ... the service was HORRIBLE!
When I made the reservation, I was told there was a band set up for New Years Eve ... there was NO band!
We arrived at 9pm for our dinner (6 adults) ... by 10pm ... the restaurant service crew had put all the empty chairs / tables up and started to mop the floors... the waiter gave us our food as quickly as possible to get us out of the restaurant as soon as possible.
Owner called to apologize and treated us to a great dinner and great service at On North in Marietta ... as always ... great food and this time great service. Class act from the owner.
We live in the area and have frequented Local on North several times ... NEVER have we experienced service like this before.
We went there for NYE and the backdoor and lots of wind which made it cold. The menu food was excellent.
We went here for the first time on New Year’s Eve. The special menu, which was all you could order from, was extremely overpriced for the quality of food received. And we were sat at a drafty table by the door. Overall, not a great experience, at least for a special occasion.
Our New Years dinner was fantastic. I’m not a big dessert person but the fried chocolate cake was beyond delicious.
Thank you for making dinner a wonderful part of a great night.
Quiet intimate setting. The best patio music scene on Sunday evening.
I love everything I’ve had. But what I really love is the Margarita Pizza and Caesar Salad. Yum!
We picked Local on North for a friends holiday get-together. Dinner was good, but it was nothing special. Two of us had the tuna, which was cooked perfectly, and the other two each had a pizza. I was disappointed in our appetizer, the fried goat cheese. It was one small ball of goat cheese to split with four people and barely enough for a bite each. The place is a little cramped and we felt like we were on top of the kitchen. Service was polite and nice, but a little distracted. Understandable as the restaurant was busy. Overall a good meal, but this restaurant lacks ambiance.
Had a good meal and place was terrific!!!
The meal was price fixed for Thanksgiving. The service was excellent, but the food was only fair! The onion soup was very good, but the potatoes came out cold and the steak was quite fatty.
Went of Thanksgiving. Appreciate the restaurant being open. Jake was an amazing server. Unfortunately, the turkey tasted over processed and not like it came off a real turkey.
Great meal. Great service. We will be back for sure. Definitely recommend!
Great food and service. Hardly anyone there in a Tuesday rainy night.
The food was delicious! Service was excellent! We are repeat customers.
Each dish was just slightly off. Like a baby restaurant that needed to grow up. The cocktails were okay.
Always great service and the food is reliably good. Only complaint would be a mast smell from the back of the restaurant. Not Local’s fault, but smelly all the same.
I visit this place often and I'm never disappointed.
Mrs. R and I had dinner there last Saturday night - there was just one other couple there @7:00 pm - perhaps due to heavy rain and GA Football game. There's not much free parking available in front or behind on a Saturday in Canton St Restaurant district - paid our $5 parking fee in the big lot The restaurant is small and narrow - we were seated adjacent to the kitchen and food pick-up which took away from the ambiance. (It wasn't a feature, it was a nusiance.) Wine and beer list is short, but solid offerings available - the menu also doesn't have many selections but that's probably good for a business this size). I started with mussels - they were tasty in white wine/cream broth - kind of a small portion. I also had the shrimp tacos - they were very good, can with a side of spicy beans. My wife had the "Local" salad - she added grilled chicken and was very happy with it - all ingredients were very fresh, chicken cooked right for her.
Overall - good food, good service, ambiance ok. Just nothing really to differentiate it from the other dozen restaurants within 1000 yards except lots of available tables/reservation slots.
Quiet place early in the evening. Tasty food. Service was good. Love the coupons they send in the mail. Makes it a good value.
Apps were great, but unfortunately they were the high point of the meal. My wife and I both had the specials, ribeye steak for her and red snapper for me. My fish was smothered in sauce, so much that I couldn't even taste the fish. My wife's steak was more gristle than steak. I've seen better cuts of meat at Longhorn for 1/3 the price. Very disappointing evening, especially since there are so many better options in the Roswell area.
Food was delicious although I was disappointed that they didn’t have the crab cake salad. (Or ice tea) I got the chicken sandwich which was yummy. I liked that they had flatten the chicken breast. It made it easier to eat. My dad has the RKO burger. It was huge with two patties. We both took half home with us. It was very quiet there on a Sunday early afternoon (12:30). The server was friendly and attentive. Overall, a lovely lunch.
We enjoyed a great meal after they had just opened at 5pm when we could get a seat - obviously very popular. The menu had lots we liked and so we want to return to sample more of it. The service was very fast, and our needs met with the few extra requests we placed. It's a long and narrow seating area, not decorated, kind of like Waffle House in dimension without the sun pouring through glass windows and without bright stainless counters. So in the absence of looking around and savoring the ambiance, we enjoyed just the company of each other on a date, husband and wife, seated across the table from one another - delightful! Next time we visit we might sit at the small bar and face the TV, liquor bottle shelf, and watch the bartender do his/her thing. We will return!
