We had a reservation for 4 people at 7 PM, and were seated promptly. Our server took drink orders and brought bread and a "dip" for the bread -kind of a mixture of olive oil, egg plant and some spice(?). Dip was excellent, bread quite poor. For an Italian restaurant to serve what is essentially a soft white bread is inexcusable.
We shared a calamari appetizer, "Calamari Alla Griglia" (grilled calamari), which was bland and rubbery -a disappointment. The entrees were really ok and seemed fresh, but without a great deal of taste, i.e. kind of bland (in our humble opinions).
So this appears to be an OK restaurant, with fresh food that has no pizzaz.
the food was very good however it took forever to get the food. i don't know if there was an issue with the kitchen but the restaurant was not crowded that it would have taxed the kitchen. we were sitting for about 90 minutes before our dinner came.
4 of us enjoyed Our meals. I had egg plant Parm two others had the veal chop which they said was fabulous and another friend had chicken Parm which she enjoyed. Our server was very pleasant and efficient and he had our shared dessert served on three different plates which was really a nice idea. We will be back!
Family reunion...food was excellent!!
First time, great local place. A bit overpriced for a BYOB but worth it. I have read that the noise levels are high when the place is filled to capacity but we were there for an early dinner so I can’t say if it is noisy or not. We will be back!
Food was mediocre. Eggplant Parmigiana was not very good and the sauce was bitter.
Nick our server was great and the food was delicious
We had a late lunch on a weekday and were the only guests in the restaurant. Food was excellent and well presented, service most attentive and helpful.
I took my mother and mother in law here for lunch and they liked it. We all had the New England Clam Chowder and we all agreed it was a bit runny but it did taste good. Our lunch was good. Nothing wrong with it, but it just didn’t wow me. Our waiter was y nice.
We went on Mother’s Day and the food and service were great! My dish was one of the best meals I ever had. We will definitely return!
The food was excellent as usual and the management was kind enough to take care of a mistake made on our part when paying our bill.....will return gladly for another great meal!
Food is great but the restaurant needs some sound deadening stuff on the walls, or they need to install a noise reduction unit that knocks down the sound waves. When the restaurant is crowded it gets so loud you cannot hear yourself talk
We had another excellent meal at Lola's. There were four of us. For appetizers we tried mussels marinara, arancini, and clams tabasco, along with fresh warm bread; for main courses we had risotto pescatore, tilapia, and tuna with sesame - all delicious. The room is a bit loud, as it has only hard surfaces, but not so bad that we couldn't converse. This is now one of our favorite restaurants.
I have been at Lola 4 or 5 times on Saturday nights and it has been crowded and noisy, but the food has always been excellent. This week we went with a second couple on Sunday night and the restaurant was not crowded, it was very quiet and conversation was easily heard. The service and food were excellent.
Excellent food as always! Attentive service as well.
Service was very slow. Waiter got lost in kitchen, never came by to refill drinks. Waited a half hour for check.
It was my friends birthday and our server lacked any enthusiasm. She didn’t even put a candle in our dessert yet the table next to us had a dessert with a candle.
I know it sounds petty, but it was an important birthday for my friend and it was kind of embarrassing as the gal next to us blew out her candle. I felt like our server could of cared less.
The food is always amazing and the service has always been consistently really good, friendly and tentative.
I will be back but was a little disappointed.
Mussels and clams were overcooked, shriveled. They should be plump and succulent. The red snapper was very good.
It was a wonderful dinner with great service! The menu has many options.
The food was mediocre and the portion size was small compared to other nearby Italian restaurants. The service was also mediocre and we waited a while to get our food and the check.
Horrified with the disrespect they had for making a reservation. Overbooked restaurant and had to wait over 30 min to make accommodations for party. Didn’t even comp a dessert for the poorly managed situation. Will never go back.
We had reservations for 4 at 7:30. We arrived on time to see people waiting in the small interior waiting area as well as outside. At least 12-14 of us all together were waiting for a table. Why were we waiting? Because a party of 21 arrived and they were seated .... even though all of us who were waiting .... some with reservations at 7:00.... were bumped for the party of 21. We were told the party of 21 did not have reservations. I don’t know how true that is, but we won’t be back. The hostess couldn’t be found. The inside temperature was uncomfortably warm. We left and went down the road to Spigola, which ended up being a great decision!!!
Excellent food. Nicely prepared and very tasty
We had driven by a bunch and wanted to check it out. It did not disappoint! Food was great, and this was an excellent spot for a nice date night.
Second visit for us, the food is delicious! It's BYOB too!
The service was very nice and the food fabulous! I thoroughly enjoyed being there on a Friday night with family.
My wife and I enjoyed another wonderful dinner this week at Lola’s. Special appetizer salad with organic greens, apricots, candied walnuts, mozzarella was amazing. My wife had crab and shrimp w/spinach over linguine and I got sausage and broccoli rabe over penne. Excellent service from our waiter as well, and Christian was out checking on all of the diners throughout the evening.
This was the 2nd time dining and we won't be back. The restaurant lacks heat some customers had sweaters and coats on. It was cold. The food was terrible overall. Cesar salad dripping in too much dressing. Sausage and broccoli rabe had too much oil all other ingredients subpar. I had 2 bites of eggplant ( their specialty) and it had a refrigerator taste. The fried calamari and bread were good. So disappointed in Lola. It's a good pizza place maybe...
Seated on time. Seated at table directly in front of drafty doorway. Very uncomfortable on a cold night. Hostess and server happy to move us to a less drafty table. Service was slow...don't know if was the kitchen or the fact that there were only 3 servers on the floor that needed another. It was prime time dinner hour on Sat night. No manager present..very noisy room. Menus with too small print. Specials were interesting...had to ask each time for prices...why do servers make us ask for the price?...we ordered 1 which was delish. Both soups (pasta fagiole and seafood bisque) were also very good. Other entree (stuffed pork chop) was nicely presented but chop was overcooked. It took 20 mins after we were seated to get our first drink (coffee and iced tea!). Another 20 mins to get our soup once ordered, and another 20 mins for our entree to come after we finished our soup. All in all, a very frustrating and unpleasant dining experience. Shant be returning. Needs to be better managed for the prices of the good food offered.
The food was very good. The restaurant was very crowded and extremely loud which made it difficult to have a conversation. I would go back for the food , perhaps during the week, when it is not as crowded.
Great restaurant, and not noisy! The food was delicious!
The service was great. We got held up during the day so we ended being about 45 minutes late to the Lola Restaurant. We gave the restaurant an update earlier in the day. They accommodated our delay without any problem. Our waiter provided great advice and a wonderful attitude. I would recommend Lola to everyone in the area. The food was great.
The food was delicious! The calamari with the marinara sauce is a must have. Everything taste freshly made. It's a hidden jewel. Will definitely return.
Very loud, but man the food is outstanding! Bring some wine, meet some friends and have a good time. The food comes out slowly (which we loved) so there's plenty of time to catch up!
Excellent service, great classic Italian cuisine! Very nice atmosphere, great for date nights! BYOB.
Perfect night out
When we arrived 2 mins before our reservation we were not greeted at the door. We had to get one of the servers in the back of the room. We should have realized how the night would go. We were sat at a good size table but the tables are very close to one another. Thank goodness the couple next to us were nice. (We found out they waited 30 mins to get sat.) Our server introduced herself but took a very long time to bring 4 cokes to the table. We had to as a second time for the other 2 people’s waters. Then the food took a pretty long time to come out. It wouldn’t be so bad but we had two kids with us and they were definitely getting tired from sitting so long. It was nice that they made ravioli and red sauce for the kids but the kids didn’t like it because it had asparagus in it. I even thought the sauce was too asparagus-ish even when removing the vegetables. On a positive note I loved my rigatoni and vodka sauce. I would go again and try but maybe not on a Saturday night when they are busy.
There is not a bad thing to say. The service is always good, food is very good, and the prices are reasonable.
