   It is always a great experience. The atmosphere and service was perfect. The food is excellent. The slight exception would my wagyu steak. It was good but not $90 good. The steaks I've had at Fleming's have been much better. Lonesome Dove is very expensive, but both times that my wife and I have eaten there, I feel like it was worth every cent.

   First course portion size is small compared to the price. We had the Rabbit Rattlesnake sausage. I rate it at a 5 out 10 and wasn't impressed. We skipped the second course and ordered entrees. I had the recommended garlic stuffed filet. The asparagus was tough and hard to cut. The hash potatoes and onions took away from the usual flavor of a good cut of filet in my opinion. She had the elk loin and said it was good. We shared a side of brussel sprouts but again the portion size was not what I consider a shareable side. Our table was directly under the HVAC system and it was uncomfortably cool at our table. When comparing quality, portion size, and flavor versus the price point for this meal, I would choose other restaurants in the area. We are not likely to return for a second meal.

   Overall good experience. If I went back I’d skip the starters and salad. They were very small bites and nothing outstanding. The steak and desert were excellent.

   Overpriced for quality/ slow and a bit unorganized. This was a college graduation celebration for our daughter and chosen by her. My 76 yo mother and I were dropped off (reservation at 5:45) while the rest were parking, and we were taken to our table, as the host promoted the incredible “chef’s table” we lucked into. After we got to the table, the host returned to tell us that this was the wrong table for us (ours wasn’t ready yet). After returning and being seated at a different table, the waiter seemed very nice and knowledgeable about the menu. Food was decent overall. But be prepared for for a much higher priced meal than quality delivered and be patient with service, as it turned into a 2.5 hr meal (w/o dessert). Just manage expectations- you’re paying for the ambiance and uniqueness of the restaurant.

   We ate here on a Monday evening. Drinks at the bar were excellent. Bartender was very friendly and attentive. Our server was knowledgeable and friendly. My issue is with the food and the length of time between courses. The restaurant was not full yet we waited 20 min or more between the end of our second course and our main course. When our steaks arrived , they were lukewarm. Also, the mac and cheese was overcooked and over-seasoned. I had been looking forward to this dinner for weeks and left feeling underwhelmed especially given the prices.

   Took my mother and fiancé there for Mothers Day. We were blown away. Chef Scott came and spoke to us after the meal and made it that much more special. Fantastic experience, and every dish was great! Zero complaints whatsoever. Fantastic Experience! Highly Recommend, amazing food and service 5 stars from me.

    I put off going for years because corkage was not allowed and it was quite pricey. Outside wine is now allowed, and the prices were not out of control. The meal was outstanding as was the service. Definitely going back.

    Absolutely amazing experience. Exceeded every expectation. Service was phenomenal and so was the food. We had a group of six. All of the appetizers we ordered (hush puppies, tostadas, oysters, wild boar ribs, crab cakes) were amazing and just enough of a taste explosion to not ruin a main course. Several in our group opted for the elk - fantastic. The bison ribeye was excellent. Cannot say enough good about the lamb. The Mac and cheese is some of the best I’ve ever had. 10/10 all around.

    I took my wife here for her birthday. The food was amazing! She had never had rattlesnake before. While it was a bit pricey, I was aware and knew that going in. We wanted something different and unique, and Lonesome Dove did not disappoint!

    Really unique place with western feel! Great ambiance, creative (yet "meaty") menu. Service was fantastic. We were there on a quiet Thursday night but sounds like they do live music on the weekends. Great location in Old City as well.

    Easter Brunch reimagined! The menu was perfectly executed and the flavors perfectly blended to make this more an experience than a meal. I cannot wait to return for dinner.     Unfortunately, the original Easter brunch menu posted was changed (no elk tenderloin), but we ordered the chicken and waffles instead. We were one of their first tables at 11:30 and received our food right before 1pm. When we did get the chicken, it was raw in the middle. I appreciate the staff apologizing and they were kind, but more efforts could have been made to right the situation.

    A lot of hype. $400 dinner for two. Elk Meat cut was poor. Flavor profiles on a few items (20%) were outstanding, but as a whole it was underwhelming. We are foodies. We are pretty gracious, but this did not live up to expectations. We have eaten at the Fort Worth location and that fared better.

    This was our first visit to Lonesome Dove. We will be returning. The service was amazing. JJ was our server. She did an amazing job going over the menu, explaining each dish, and making recommendations for our group. The food was very good. The menu offers unusual items. If you are willing, you can experience many foods you have not had before. If you are hesitant to branch out for things like rabbit-rattlesnake sausage, you can stay with more traditional choices like catfish. For the main dish, my husband chose elk loin which was a perfect serving size and very tasty. I was not as adventurous and had the pork chop-- there are actually two so I had enough to bring home. The pork chop was very good. It's a fun place where the staff seems very happy to be there and to serve you. JJ offered to take me on a tour of the whole facility which included available private dining areas. We are glad we finally tried Lonesome Dove. We will be returning. Thank you JJ, for making our night so enjoyable.

    I was given a gift card as a Christmas present. Absolutely perfect gift. This is the best restaurant experience that I’ve ever had from food and beverage presentation all the way to food taste and quality. Certainly worth the money and plan to come back.
