We enjoyed the best taco salad, tacos, and street corn. We will definitely be back again soon!

I am an executive chef that used to live in Roswell NM and this is the only place I have been to up here in CT that reminds me of the food I ate down on the border. Excellent food and fantastic menu.
We were not able to see the bill until it was sent to me in an email...45$ for a small pitcher of Margaritas is ridiculous !!!
Excellent experience. The staff and even the cooks who are visible inside were all masked up. The staff was very diligent about cleaning and wiping down all surfaces after use. The food was fresh and excellent. Our waitress was very helpful , knowledgeable and recommended a few things for us that we wouldn’t have tried otherwise. We will definitely be returning as soon as we can.
The food is always superb, no matter what you order! The food is always consistent and delicious. the staff is fantastic too. I highly recommend Los Charros!
The meal was delicious, however portions are small.
Drinks absolutely superb but overall disappointing food. Didn’t find it to be that authentic and my steak taco ( advertised as being from a local highly respected farm) was so cremated that it was black hard chewy pieces of I don’t know what. I don’t know why a chef would think that was ok to serve. The waiter was kind enough to immediately offer a replacement with was better but still way over cooked. I would possibly go back when the bar is open for margaritas and an appetizer, but there are other good Mexican restaurants in the area.
We really enjoyed the food. The menu has many choices and food is well prepared. Guacamole, quest, skirt steak were my favorites. Servers and chef / owners are friendly and helpful. Some good items in the marketplace available to go. This will be one of the standard spots we go to.
Ridiculous prices for tiny drinks and amounts of food. Was so excited. Very sad.

Food was pretty standard. Seasoning was bland. Nothing bad about anything but we expect a bit more innovation and flavor from this chef.

During this heightened period of uncertainty we have definitely provided some more simplified options based on guest requests, however there are still some very aggressive flavors and exciting dishes. Everything about this place is terrific and the people are so friendly and helpful. We celebrated a friend's birthday here, outside in the tent, and it was a truly special occasion. If you are sick of what gets passed off in the northeast for Mexican food, try this place instead. The food is authentic, interesting, and really, really good.
The staff was friendly we did not have to wait to be seated at our table since this was our first time at this restaurant we did not know the menu would be only on our phone we did not know how to spell the name of the restaurant therefore we had to wait for the waitress to return to table to help us I think there should be something on the table to guide customers it would be helpful also paying the bill with the waitress holding iPad and waiting for us to pay felt like we did not have time to think about tip and to look at bill overall though we enjoyed our dinner

This wasn't our first time here. The music was way too loud inside. We were yelling at our waiter for everything. Maybe he was new, I don't know. But he wasn't bringing his A game that night. Parts of our order didn't come out on time for what ever reason. I like strong drinks; the rum punch I had was rough to the taste buds. Fix it y'all.
So, the executive chef reached out to me. I love that you care about this and I thank you for it. You have earned our repeat business and my party and I shall return.
Dear valued guests, I am so sorry to hear about your negative experience. overall, we have louder tables with music and quieter tables, due to the locations of speakers. we can happily seat you accordingly if you voice your desire to be at a quieter table (ask for the 30's and you'll be all set!). As far as the server, ben, he's actually one of our bartenders, and due to covid and everything going on our staff is smaller and tighter due to all of the government imposed and mandated costs.
This was only our second time at this restaurant. The first time the food was outstanding. This time, not so much. Actually, it was subpar! Sad, because we brought friends with us!

I can’t say enough good things about both Los Charros and The Essex. These restaurants are both beyond excellent. The service and the food quality are second to none. We love both restaurants and look forward to every time we come. Don’t give this a second thought, you will not be disappointed!!!!

We loved our meal, we ordered so much food! Our server, Chelsea, was incredible! Loved her. The music was fantastic. We can’t wait to go back.

Felt badly for waitstaff who had to walk across parking lot for everything. Staff extremely accommodating and friendly. Drinks were dixi cup sized.

Dear valued guests, I am so sorry to hear about your negative experience. overall, the drinks are not 'Dixie cup size', they are just smaller looking than there glass counterparts, but still hold the same 10 oz that our rocks glasses hold inside. as far as prefer the old essex... the Essex Restaurant has grown leaps and bounds from 3 years ago and is operating in the front of the building. id be happy to make you reservations there if you'd like?

A bit pricey but you get what you pay for. We ate inside due to weather, although their outside dining is huge and under a tent, tables were properly spaced and food was top notch although it's all a la carte. Margaritas were excellent. Free dessert for the birthday girl....delicious Beniets.
The food was the same excellent quality that they've always had. The prices were also reasonable considering how difficult it is to be a restaurant staying in business these days. The menu has been shortened, and I can understand that as well. My only quibble was that we reserved for 7:45, and the kitchen closes at 8, so there was this sort of "take down" rush going on as we were trying to relax and finish. 8 seems early, but if that's what they need to do to stay in business, that's fine; but make the last reservation at 7;30 or so, and have the waitresses wait until the diners are finishing up before dismantling everything.
First time visit and we will be back! Food was outstanding. Layered enchiladas very unique. Inside seating allowed us to experience the open kitchen concept. Owner chef Colt joined us for a chat. Can’t say enough about the evening. 5 stars!

We've dined here before but it seems to have gone downhill. The street corn didn't taste cooked, just seasoned and served. The queso with chorizo was super greasy and looked unappetizing. The margaritas were very small and expensive. It was $213 for three of us with no dessert. Maybe prices are higher and portions smaller because of covid? Not sure. I don't feel the price we paid was worth it and we were pretty disappointed.
Food, service and ambiance were great! It was our first time eating indoors again since COVID and we felt comfortable with all the protocols and precautions that they had in place.
Food was amazing!! Gave ambience a low rating because of the tent and flies, but understandably, we are in a unique pandemic environment.
Waitress kept forgetting things and wasn’t too personable.
Would definitely go back though for the food!
Just a delightful evening out. We took the kids. Enjoyed the evening and the food.
Really appreciated opportunity to eat outside. Felt that restaurant tried very hard to comply with Covid rules and regs. Fish tacoss, hominy, potato bravas and chiles were gdelicious. Staff very helpful. Table size good for 4 family members but not really large enough for social distancing with unrelated people.
Overall, it was great!
