It was the perfect place for us to catch up with some good friends. It was so nice to be sitting outside too. The host gets offered the heating lamp what she put on for us to which was really nice.
Food was pretty good. waitress was great. Handling Covid well.
We had a great meal. Service was great and we felt very Covid protected
The staff was phenomenal and took care of all our needs. They facilitated the perfect atmosphere for our engagement dinner. Moreover, they did a great job managing our service during the rapidly evolving COVID-19 situation.
A bit pricey, but then again, everything in this area is. Loved the service and the food.
Have to rave about the meatballs on the daily special. They were fabulous with a yummy, spicy sauce! The fish tacos were also very good with generous portions of fish. The service was mediocre. Love eating on the outside patio!
Started off bad no service outside for 25 minutes. We had to go inside to get service. We got phenomenal service from Maria. She should train the waiters there as she turned the meal around for us!
We stopped into this well rated place on a quiet Thursday afternoon for lunch. We were not disappointed! The food and service were great. Prices were comparatively reasonable. And the view was to die for.
We can highly recommend.
The ocean-front, open-air dining cannot be beat. Our service was friendly and attentive. We enjoyed a scrumptious meal of crab-stuffed salmon and mahi-mahi fish tacos. Both were delicious, we’ll-presented and good portions.
Great food and service! The only item I did not like was the fries, pale and tasteless. My party had the fried artichoke hearts appetizer, house salad, Mahi Mahi Tacos, spaghetti with meatballs and Fettuccini Alfredo with shrimp. Enjoyed our visit and would recommend to a friend.
Food was surprisingly delicious and the server Chris was very attentive and courteous. I reserved thru the open table app, I added 4 more guests within 2 hours and they were able to accommodate a party of 10 with no problem. Definitely will go again.
We visit this restaurant every year when we are in town for the AT&T Pro Am. Always a delicious meal with outstanding service.
Amazing service, really good food!
It’s a great restaurant. We live dining right on the water. The menu is great and the food is always good. It’s dog friendly which is a must for us.
Service was good, food wasn't great. Nice location.
Waitress was ok as long as you asked for every little detail. It was like she had never been a customer so she could not understand what good or great service might be. She needs training badly. The bus person (older gentleman big build, was great! He was bubbly in personality, made us feel good and PROACTIVE... wish he was our waiter! ... food was ok but a bit over hyped. Sad to see I could not get a simple crab cocktail as a appetizer. Also never serve a 10 year old a poorly made Shirley Temple in. Sippy cup the look is the part of the experience... ordered it again in no sippy cup and No Garnishes at all???? No cherry no fruit garnish at all... and you call yourself a 4star? I think not!!!!
The crab French fries were delicious!!
And our server Maria was awesome
Food, service, and view was nothing short of PERFECT! My mate and I couldn't have chosen a better way to bring in the New Year!
This place sucked. Ordered the Seafood Risotto and Lemon Caper Chicken. Both dishes were subpar. Neither was seasoned appropriately, and the risotto was overflowing with frozen calamari rings. Lemon Caper Chicken was rubbery and dry and covered in an indeterminate white sauce that was neither lemon flavor or caper flavored. Food arrived hot due to sitting under the heat lamp (plates arrived with skim over the sauce due to baking under the lamp). Our kiddo ordered Chicken Strips and Fries, and her meal looked the most delicious. Went here for my birthday, and when trying to leave, was told to wait twice by the waitress who refused to deliver our check twice, because they were “preparing the dessert.” Dessert arrives as two scoops of vanilla ice cream with a single lady finger cookie stuck on as a garnish. This place was totally disappointing, slow and disorganized. I definitely do not recommend and suggest you keep walking if this comes up as an option for you!
This restaurant has a namesake who is a fictitious character, which turned me off when I read the fake "bio" on the website. It's like he's Ronald McDonald or something. The restaurant is actually very nice. The food is excellent. With reservation we got a sunset table for my sweetie's birthday, which was acknowledged by staff with a gratis dessert. We'd go back next time we're in Monterey.
Great food and service happy holidays
We showed up and got seated outside. Got some bread and then nothing. 15 mins later we spoke to the hostess and expected something to change. Another wait and nothing so we left. I even told the hostess we were leaving and she acted completely without any understanding. Went down the street to Lalla Oceanside and had a completely different experience. Will not be returning to Louies
Not knowing about this place I resorted to Yelp, just like lot's of other people. I made reservations for 4 adults, 2 pre-teens at 3:30 on Monday afternoon. The place is nicely located, not far from the Monterey Bay Aquarium. After being greeted by the hostess at the front desk, we were promptly seated. The establishment is about what you'd expect being on Cannery Row, nice, family friendly, made to service tourists, then pack em in again, and again. We were seated outside, which was a rather small dining area, looked like two tables with about 6 chairs each, and a smaller table for two. Being that it was windy and about 60 degrees, we had the area to ourselves and the sea gulls (which were not a problem, but entertaining). Overhead heating elements helped or we would gone inside for sure. Our server promptly arrived took our order and was very attentive till it was time to leave. I had to search out ANYBODY to get our bill, and again, so they could run our CC. Maybe because as the colder it got outside, the indoor area was filling fast, so we were kind of on our own out in the windy cold. But, hey, our choice!! The food was okay. Not bad, but nothing you'd rave about on Facebook, or make plans to ABSOLUTLEY come back. We got two free clam chowders for "checking in" on Yelp, but you do have to purchase the required entrees to qualify. All I can say is I had the Grilled Mahi Mahi and it was great! The Garlic fries were a little greasy, but ok. My granddaughters had the pasta (spaghetti), and ate just about all of it. We were brought a small plate of bread and butter, but were never offered another round. Too cold to come out and ask? We'll never know... To some it up, After seeing the Aquarium, on my way back to the hotel, yeah, I'd stop in again to try the pasta, or just have a drink. The bar area looked like it ROCKS!! As I'm sitting at home planning my next trip to Monterey and Cannery Row, will I make plans to visit this place.....nah, probably not.
I order their cioppino regulary because I love the flavor of the stock-BUT, sometimes it's choke full of shrimp, scallops, clams, muscles ,fish and calamari and sometimes it looks like they forgot to add these items
Good food and service. Nice views of the bay.
Great food, great menu, good cocktails. Dry enjoyable while on a business trip.
This is one of my favorite spots been going with my kids since they were little. Since I moved to the area I really haven’t gone and since my birthday was this week, thought let’s go to two of my three kids (one son is in the navy). Love this place and didn’t let me down this time either.
We sat out on the patio looking over the bay. Wonderful evening.
Everything was great. Reservation was ready on time, food was very good and the atmosphere was good for our group of 10.
Came here right after my best friend engagement on the beach and it was absolutely perfect!
The food was amazing (per usual; every time I come here its incredible) and our server was fantastic!
Good food. Decent service
Best Arabiatta meat balls I ever had.
Food was just OK. Service was just OK. Nothing really stood out about this place, except it looked and had a dirty feel.
The restaurant felt dirty. The waitress was awkward and didn’t seem to know what she was doing. We ordered the popcorn shrimp, spaghetti and meatballs, and shrimp linguini. The popcorn shrimp portion was small and was very salty, the shrimp linguini was salty and heavy on the lemon (and pasta was swimming in a tan sauce which looked unappetizing) and the shrimp were over cooked, the spaghetti and meatballs were in a flavorless watery sauce. We won’t be coming back to the restaurant.
What an amazing dinner with an amazing view! The seafood fettuccine, chicken farfalle and wine selection was great. I can’t wait to come back!
It was great. Very friendly and I like the local resident discount.
Not impressed. I made a reservation and we ended up sitting where the help was eating dinner next to a wall with a sliver of window. Food was dismal, our veggies were cold.... I can go on. I don't recommend it. It was a $200 dinner (no dessert) and it sucked across the board.. What a bummer!!!
Well, the hostesses were amazing, but once we sat down it went downhill. Our server came pretty quick, but as time went by he didn’t come around much. We were starving and had an event to go to and he didn’t come take our order for over 20 minutes. He did come by at first about two times but we weren’t ready since we just had sat down. Mistake on us because it was impossible to get him to our table. Once we ordered, the food took forever. We had two free clam chowders since our friend is a Yelp Elite and it took forever. The seafood salad, our friend loved, but my pasta was ok, and my friends pasta was terrible. She said it was so sweet and how can you mess up a simple pasta with marinara and meat. Basically I suggested this place instead of going to our same spot we go every year basically next door. Huge mistake on my part because it was a tourist trap, food was terrible, service was terrible and our bill was pricey. Will not be coming back again.
Went to lunch after a morning at the Aquarium. Short walk to the place and was quickly seated. The waiter made sure we were taken care of and asked if we needed anything. The food was good and we love the warm sourdough bread that was served while we waited for our meal.
