Great despite me having to put food in early due to the virus on my bday
Awesome, felt like I was in France! The food the service was superb! And the ambience second to none!
We will definitely be going back to try more! Our first time experience was phenomenal. Our waitress was amazing, the food was incredible, and our overall experience was great. Definitely recommend the bacon wrapped dates and the osso bocco!!
Lovely place, great decor. Just wish the staff was more attentive as every time I am there it takes a while to get their attention. Great Food though, favourite cocktail ever is the white cosmo.
Just fantastic!Love love love this restaurant!
Came with a dear friend post a visit to the Perelman Center. The ambiance was wonderful. Food was delicious. Just perfect combinations of flavor and our server was fantastic. Looking forward to coming back very soon. Thanks for a special lunch.
Absolutely love this restaurant! It’s local to where I live and one of my favorite spots in this neighborhood. I bring everyone here!
Delicious food, great friendly and professional staff, loved everything about this place. The decor is incredible!
Over all great ... awesome drinks... Server Sara was fabulous... can’t wait to go back
the Louie Louie staff is always attentive and prompt
Good food. Good ambiance
Great location , poor choice. Food is mediocre, the prices that of a first class restaurant which this place is not. The place was so noisy, I couldn’t hear the waitress describe our options.
Randomly had lunch there yesterday and ended up there for dinner the next day! Great food great service. The mushroom gnocchi and lamb shank were amazing!
Main courses were a bit over priced, but so delicious! A great choice for parents visiting Penn and Drexel campuses.
We have been to this restaurant about a half dozen times, and always enjoy the food, service, and ambiance. We particularly enjoy the large selection of dishes on the menu, and the fact that the menu changes over time. This is in contrast to the extremely pared down menus of many of the newer restaurants.
The only complaint we have ever had was about the noise level. This problem was moderated on this visit because we were seated in the smaller room to the rear which was somewhat quieter. The service here is always outstanding - timely, informed, and caring.
The space is very bustling and attractive and there is nowhere more convenient before a show at the Annenberg. The happy hour menu looked great but only was offered at the bar and lounge, which was full with a private party. Service was very good. Dinner was a good bit pricier than I expected.
We enjoyed our meal. Voices bounce off the glass windows and walls to the point that it is difficult have a conversation.
GreT meal great service! A bit loud when crowded, but an excellent choice.
1st time we’d been here will return.
Spaghetti suppose to be homemade but poor at best. Pizza doggie. Meatballs too much meal. Did not like
The overall experience was really great. The whole staff was warm and friendly (host station had some “too cool” attitude early, but relaxed once they realized we were patient and understood the fluidity of brunch reservation). The food was all good, with strong flavors and a great selection of lunch and brunch items. Good mixed crowd of Penn students and professionals along side locals.
Food was just ok. Monkey bread was delicious but burnt on one side. Everything else was just under seasoned and I ended up adding salt to everything from the beet salad to the mushroom omelette. My omelette was also luke warm when it arrived
Table service was great. The food was all delicious. The c shaped seating is only for parties of 5 or more people which is not ideal since the other seating is not as comfortable. Sit down areas by the bar are very cold due to the door constantly being opened by customers. Our check was brought out to us before we were done with our cocktails which were still full so we felt rushed there. We moved to the lounge area on the other side of the bar and the sofas were very comfortable but the rug was completely loose under our feet and with the furniture being cramped we couldn’t get a stable footing and kept tripping on the rug. There was no service on the lounge area, therefore I carried all the drinks and had to take multiple trips. The bar at times was busy and others it slowed down but either times I kept being overlooked. I appreciated when I was acknowledged and told they would be with me in a few minutes but then someone else came up to the bar and they were helped before I was. The two bartenders’ drinks were also not very consistent. The female gave strong cocktails and the male gave more well blended drinks that was more appealing to me. Street parking was not too bad. I planned on doing valet parking (Fourty-five dollars for valet) on the other side of the building which you could then walk into the hotel and walk through the lobby and go down some steps to into the restaurant. The restroom also wasn’t very clean. They were out of paper towels which I would not expect.
Would recommend the French Dip Roast Beef sandwich! Save room for desserts which were delicious!
Made a reservation for Valentine’s Day for my boyfriend and I. We arrived on time and was told we would be seated in a moment. We were fine with waiting and about to grab a seat at the bar to have a drink. About 2 minutes later we were seated at our table. Instead of seating us in the main dining room, which has beautiful decor and a great ambience, we were seated in a small section by the main lobby stair case. Not very romantic for Valentine’s Day. Felt like we were on a corner or a space they made for additional seating due to the holiday. Service wasn’t bad but some things took a while. Maybe because we were seated not by the main dining room. We had a 8:45 reservation and didn’t leave the restaurant until 11. Which would be fine; but we felt like we were getting tired because of where we were seated. Had we been in the main dining room the energy/vibe may have been different. Not terrible but not worth going back. This was our second time there and was not impressed either time.
I decided to try Louie Louie for Valentines Day this year. The wife and I have our usual place we’ve been going to celebrate, but I took a chance and it was well worth it.
Both the food and service were on point all night. Our server, unfortunately, I don’t recall her name, was great.
We will definitely return!!!
Valentines Day- food excellent and service handled efficiently and warmly for such a busy night!
DISAPPOINTED!!!! At first, I was not as mad as I am now. The food was fine, drinks came fast. But our server could care less about us!! I couldn’t even put his name in here because he did not talk to us AT ALL!! He only came over and took our orders. It was our valentines and anniversary celebration and absolutely NO extra steps were taken for us! We spent over 200 dollars on that meal and our celebrations were not acknowledged at any point. We were super excited to eat here, the ambiance is great, but every other point sucked. I even called the next day and spoke to the manager, and he said he would call me back and arrange a time for us to come back, and he NEVER called me back! I will never be dining here again. Not worth any of my money!!!
I just wish they had advised on their website that the happy hour was only for the bar seating, or really any info regarding their happy hour on their website, we rushed to make it there early on a weekday to make the happy hour and weren't told until we were seated that it's only for the bar. Ended up being very expensive for just good food, we got a cheese board, lamb osso buco, the grand louie burger, cocktails and a creme brulee for dessert- out of all those items nothing to rave about, maybe we didn't order their specialties? Kind of just felt like a pretty diner for rich people.
My adult son and I went to Louis Louis for lunch pre-performance. Our experience was less than satisfactory, We both got salads and added grilled chicken. Mine was fine, my son's chicken was undercooked. It took some doing to get the server to come over and take the raw slices back to the kitchen. It took a very long time for her to return. Instead of bringing out a new portion, she came back with the undercooked slices which were now overcooked. It took so long that my son had finished his salad greens. We were not offered any beverage refills at any time during our stay.
There are ways to salvage a bad situation - like dealing with serving raw chicken. Don't charge the guests for it, offer a beverage refill, try to bring food back to the table quickly, maybe comp a desert.
I would not be writing my first negative review if my family members had not worked in the restaurant business for decades. I know the lengths that they have gone to make sure that guests have a positive experience.
This place was top notch! Love the French toast! 10/10!
The food is absolutely delicious as is the drink menu! Our server Chris was so great and patient we are a rowdy group of women when we get together and he was so patient and kind and made us laugh! Can’t wait to go back especially for the cauliflower appetizer yum!
Second visit to Louie Louie. Restaurant is fine looking, cocktails are great, noise level is manageable, and the service is remarkably friendly and competent.
So why only 4 stars? The dinner menu is...weird. I get that it's trying to be a french bistro, but this is America, and Americans expect certain staples - like pasta on the menu. What they offer is well prepared, but we struggle to find an app and entree we're dying to try.
