Food was delicious, great service and entertainment was outstanding!
Great from start to finish.
Good food, good service. Nice to have this restaurant close to home.
Nice spot for casual dining
The meal was just mediocre. The salad was ONLY lettuce, and not a lot of lettuce, either. I ordered the grouper, which was WAY overpriced. It was tasteless and somewhat dry. The others seemed to enjoy their main courses, otherwise I would have given fewer stars. Our server was very nice and attentive, as was the bartender and the person who showed us our table. It is too bad the meal in no way matched their kindness.
The service was excellent. The food was very good. The restaurant was clean and elegant.
Service was awfully slow, we spent almost 2 hours here. We ordered a filet and New York strip. Neither steak had much flavor, both steaks were very tough. Potatoes looked like they'd been glued together. Best part was the fresh bread. I would not go back, extremely upset we paid $107 for the quality of food we received.
This restaurant is a neighborhood gem.
A modest Gibson's or Morton's in the middle of the suburbs. The menu selections are upscale. I had prime rib and shrimp cocktail (I don't drink alchohol). The food was tasty and reasonably priced. I even got to meet the owner which was very cool.
Food was delicious and will definitely return soon. We had the prime filet, ribeye and walleye with almonds and cherries and all 3 meals were delicious.
Good food and service. Good wine selection.
Note, there is no beer on tap, only bottles.
Louie’s is always a comfortable and pleasant place to dine. The food is usually great with the exception of my last visit. I usually order the bone in ribeye because of the flavor. It was cooked perfectly but there was no seasoning on it so it just tasted like meat. I will go back because I love it there.
Steaks were delicious and service was excellent . Server was polite and bartender super friendly.
After being away for a while, it was GREAT to come back to Louie's. Everything was superb; just like I remember. I will be back.
I celebrated my birthday here with my friends. While my food was fine, my friend’s lamb chops were burnt. She called for the manager and I found the female manager to be very argumentative with my friend. She told my friend that she could scrap the burnt part off the lamb chops and put some sauce on it..... yuck! Then she argued my friend up and down accusing her of finishing the burnt chops. She eventually took the chops off of our $400+ bill. She was loud and again very argumentative. I was totally embarrassed! She was very unprofessional!
Birthday Celebration was awesome! Well taken care of by the owner and staff.,I would return for casual dining.
Birthday dinner. Service was fabulous, food delicious & beautiful ambiance.
Great place great food and service I would recommend to anyone
The food was great and the server was outstanding it was my birthday and she brought me a dessert so my family could sing happy birthday to my
I visited Louie's for the first time with friends who have been there. The restaurant had only 2 other tables with guests. We were given our choice of table, which was nice. I ordered one of the specials, Ahi Tuna. It was $42. The Ahi was good, but I believe that price is really high and not mentioned when waiter shared about the specials. Waiter was attentive but for such an expensive, fine dining establishment the level of service and professionalism did not compare to other like restaurants. Desserts were expensive for not being house made. Manager/owner came around to check on our table. He was in blue jeans. Again, seemed odd for a restaurant of this nature. No one was near the door to thank us for coming, and say goodbye. Value for price paid, poor.
The food was ok. The waitress was horrible. Not very attentive. Had to send someone else over to take our drink orders. Had to ask every time instead of just checking on the table. I saw other servers in the restaurant giving better service. I have spent less money and got way better service. That will be my first and last time coming to that restaurant.
If your looking for a wonderful, fun romantic meal for a reasonable price this is a must! Alex is the best served on the southside. The steak was made to perfection. The drinks are great, they even go retro! Try it you'll love it too .
My husband and I were celebrating my retirement from the company I worked for almost 32 years. I had made reservations for us and our 4 adult children. The food was great as was the service up until the end when I got the bill and gave our waitress what I felt was a generous tip of $40 cash. Our bill was about $240, which I paid with my debit card. Forty dollars of the bill was for beers we had ordered, so we gave her 20% of the $200 food order. You would have thought I gave her $2.00 by the way she acted toward us the remainder of the time we sat at the table. We ALL noticed the change in her behavior toward us. It was a very uncomfortable ending to what we wanted to be a special night. We all passed her when leaving and said “goodnight” and “thank you”. She did not say a word. Very odd. My husband asked did we do something wrong. I told him I felt it had to be she wasn’t satisfied with the tip as her interactions with us changed drastically after I handed her the money. I guess my first clue should have been that she argued with the manager, that we should be her table since the other waiter just had a table of 5 as we were being seated. I thought it was unprofessional to have those discussions in front of customers. I would like to come back but I would not want the same server. I felt her interactions with us were not genuine, especially since we were treated so rudely after I paid the bill.
I took my husband here for his birthday and enjoyed a lovely meal with excellent service.
I dined at Louies this past weekend for a bidthdate event and I must say that the aervice was exceptional and the food was absolutely delectable. I would definitely recommend dining here if your looking for a great dining experience.
Nice neighborhood establishment. Bartender was very friendly and some of the staff were there dining with family (which is a good sign).
Owner stopped by to personally ask me about my dinner. Would go again!
"The cousins" had a mini reunion and the 6 of us had delicous meals, drinks and service. My salmon with raspberry was delicous and the others were all complimentary on their meals
Coming here for many years when I come to Chicago. Restaurant getting too old. Needs a complete redo.
Food is still good but service was below standard. Our waiter (tall man) was not pleasant at all. Got the impression he could care less about us dining in the restaurant much less his table. We dined early evening before the crowd.so there was no reason to be impatient.
As always, food is very good. Service was good. Love having this restaurant in the neighborhood.
Wonderful meal -- great salad, great dressing.
The specials were wonderful -- we had the blackened scallops, the steak with scallops; also, a reg on the menu, the ribs.
Dessert should not be passed up!
Wow how the mighty have fallen, had the worst steak of my life so much fat thin as can be just gross. The menu and appys are so outdated. You walk in it’s filthy outside with the gross people smoking outside the slot machine place. They should shut the doors of this place. It’s dark and smells gross please stay away from here
It was my first time visiting Louie Chophouse the food was very good. I met Louie, the owner which he was very visible and stop by to check to see how everything was going. The waiter was very prompt and attentive to our needs. I will be definitely visiting there again.
The waitress we had was thw slowest worst waitress on the floor. The appetizers were good, but the food was not up to par. It used to be great. Last night was horrible.
It was horrible I used to love Louie’s but not anymore. I will never ever step foot in there again. The waitress snatched the menus out of our hands first off then we waited for our food and got it an hour or so later. The manager had an attitude the waitress had an attitude the food was not good we sent the steak back two times after that we just said forget the steak didn’t even eat. Other people was sending their food back also. I will never go to eat there again.
Celebrating Father’s Day
The food is amazing and the price is even better. Where can you go and get a Ribeye that comes with a salad, vegetables, plus a side for under 40.00. The Best Steak house on the Southside!!!!
Our family always enjoys a great dinner at Louie's
This is a great “go to” “in town” place to go to and take people. Great food, helpful and patient servers!
Great food, great service, great ambiance will definitely go back again, and refer a friend.
Great experience, good food, amazing drinks!
Mother’s Day was my first time visiting Louie’s Chophouse . I took my mother there and she totally enjoyed herself along with me . The food was delicious the waitress Brenda was so attentive and kind . The atmosphere was wonderful I would definitely recommend this restaurant for delicious meal and overall good outing. I’m so glad it was referred by a friend who attended a Christmas Party there last year. I will be going back.
