Lucca - Rockland

My wife and I had our first trip to Lucca South on Saturday evening. I have to admit that I was pleasantly surprised. I had previously been to Lucca in the North End and was not impressed, but they have done wonders in Lucca South. The menu was varied, the food was delicious, the wine list was excellent and the service was very good. The only negative is that the noise level was a little loud. We will definitely be back again.

Fabulous food, atmosphere and service!!

Loved my dinner celebrating with the girls for a friends birthday! Loved the ambiance! We has delicious caesar salads and mouthwatering pizzas this time! The service was fantastic. I can’t wait to go again.

Have eaten here several times and have never been disappointed. Food is excellent, service is excellent, great ambience. My kids love the statler chicken, I have had the scallops, salmon and a seafood special that were all delicious...the calamari appetizer is amazing! Owner always stops by the tale to check on everything...can't wait to go back!

Food was excellent. Felt like we were eating in the North End location without actually having to drive to the North End! The Salmon Tartare was SO good we ordered it twice! The specialty cocktails are superbly made. The arancini and meatballs were excellent as well. Definitely going to be our new go-to spot for Italian when we do not feel like driving into the city for dinner in the North End!

Wonderful birthday celebration. Waitress made the night special. Steaks exceptional as were appetizers and cocktails. Felt very safe with tables spaced well away from each other.

Emily our waitress was great, the food was perfect. The Lucca's is in the former Bella's restaurant they did a great job on the renovation. The only complaint I have is the menu is much too limited, they really need to have more choices.

Always great food and fantastic drinks! Highly recommend. They have one of the best cappuccino martinis.

Wonderful New Year’s Eve dinner choice. Excellent chef specials for starters, entrees perfectly prepared (as usual) and excellent service.

Delicious food!!

Service and Atmosphere was great. Food was just okay.

Last night at Lucca wasn’t worthy. Drinks not good at all. We suggested our waiter for some other drinks, he said Yes first and then he did nothing. Not enough drinks. He offered the same drink, except the pasta other dishes were not good, very very salty and spicy. This has nothing to do with Italian Restaurants. The service was good even the waiter was very confused about the menu. I don’t recommend this to others.

First restaurant visit in two months, but well worthwhile. All of the dishes were excellent, ranging from salads to scallops. Arancini definitely worth a try.

On a quiet Wed evening before our first big snowstorm of the year, my wife and I had a lovely dinner. Our server was pleasant and thoughtful, and it was so considerate of the owner to stop by and check on us. What a terrific dining addition to the South Shore.

We decided to go to Lucca for our anniversary dinner. I had already heard good thing so we were looking forward to trying it.
It was beautiful inside and decorated so nice for the holidays! I kept thinking how nice it would be to have a holiday party there.. or any function really.
We went on a Tuesday so I expected it to be quiet, and with Covid I’m sure that didn’t help. It wasn’t an issue that it was quiet, but I feel bad that such a great restaurant wasn’t more busy.
Our waitress was great. Very friendly and knowledgeable on the menu and drink recommendations. Anyone who came by the table to clean up or refill water was also very pleasant.
Although the menu is small, the food was delicious. I can appreciate a smaller menu when all things on it are perfectly prepared. We got arancini for an appetizer, the lobster gnocchi and margarita pizza for entrees and the tiramisu and white chocolate cranberry ice cream for dessert. And honestly, that ice cream was probably one of the best I have ever had. We both also had the Canyon Moon cocktail. Also one of the best cocktails I’ve had in a while!
Our overall experience was great, and I would love to go back. I hope they can remain open during such difficult times.

Food is always delicious and the service is warm and very accommodating. The owner is very engaged in the service and the wait staff is wonderful.

Atmosphere was wonderful. Able to have a conversation without shouting across the table. Menu offers something for everyone’s taste and then were some specials. Potions were perfect. Our waiter “ Mr Cavatelli” was attentive without being bothersome and very helpful with dinner selections
