   The best seafood in Santa Monica , delicious oysters and scallops. Amazing dips on the happy hour menu. Drinks were slightly better than average. They were extremely nice to our dog and accommodating on their patio. Service was excellent the wait staff are knowledgeable of the menu and very attentive.

   At a loss for words. The waiter we had was horrible. He will needs anger management therapy. So that was very unpleasant. The music was extremely un relaxing and obnoxious. The manager was nice enough to change it per my request but that only lasted for about 10 min.s or so. The food was okay but much prefer the original BPO food. I am definitely not going back anytime soon. Please fire that waiter, he was is a terrible representation for that restaurant and or any restaurant. Thank you for a terrible experience.

   The food and serviced were good. However, what I didn’t like is when paying the bill on their electronic device, the tip starts at 20% and actually when they hand you the device it’s set on 22-23% or something which is high. There was no 18%, nor was I able to see if I could type in a tip. Are they not paying their servers enough? I was really taken aback by this as was my dining partner.

   It’s now an Asian pop up restaurant, but open table doesn’t update that info. Really disappointing as we were expecting Blue Plate seafood, but only a few of their items on the menu. This used to be one of my favorite restaurants, but I will not return until they return.

    Yes, yet another perfect afternoon at BPO, but this time with the unexpected addition of Lucky Yu! What a fun and wonderfully curated pop up. Enjoyed every classic BPO bite, the Lucky Yu prix fix options and specialty cocktails, and, extra credit, meeting Chef Alex. Wasn’t sure what to expect with this pop up, but Lucky Yu did not disappoint—the delicious food, the awesome service, the always welcoming ambience-/thanks LY and BPO…we’ll be back!

    As a patron of 10 years to Bp Oysterette, I am so disappointed in the pop up. It was sadly tacky decor and cheap looking inside. Most of my favorite meals were not available. No key lime pie?? The yuzu was not good and sesame seeds stuck in our teeth. The menu was as confused as the decor. Please just work on events, and hire a marketing team to build the clientele, the pop up is not it. So sad. Won’t be back if this pop up continues unfortunately.

    We are long time fans of Blue Plate Oysterette - there is nothing like it in LA. So many fresh fish and oyster options, and excellent fish tacos and macaroni and cheese (with lobster if you want) to boot. The Branzino is one of the best in LA and they have an excellent wine by the glass menu. Unfortunately, they are currently ditching all of these wonderful things and have replaced it primarily with tasteless hand rolls. There are already dozens of top notch Japanese restaurants in LA that serve far better sushi rolls. Why change what made this restaurant a 10 and serve mediocre food instead? I'm worried they are just trying to attract tourists and not people who care about good food. I LOVE this restaurant with its beach location and vibe - we have been weekly customers for over a decade. I'm writing this review in the hope that the owners will reconsider. We would miss with restaurant so much. PLEASE go back to your winning concept.

    Brand new menus and system that the staff is getting used to. I was afraid I’d miss the “old” menu but wanted to give this a try. The food was absolutely outstanding! Truly unique tastes! Every dish we tried was superb. I look forward to frequenting Blue Plate more often to check out new dishes.

    This place is amazing. First of all the quality of all the fish can not be topped. Every piece of fish melts in your mouth. The oysters, the hamachi, the blue fin etc. Secondly the dishes are so well constructed with lovely flavors that compliment but never overpower the fish. And last the service is casual feeling yet professional, knowledgable and fast.

    The oysters and lobster were a 10/10. The Brussel sprouts however weren’t crispy at all and the old bay fries had very little seasoning. The outdoor patio was amazing with the heaters out there. It was unexpectedly a tad bit chilly. Customer service was great and fast!

    We found BPO at the last minute after an 8 hour drive to Santa Monica on Friday, they seated us quickly, and got our beverages quickly. They had Stone Crab Claws and Steamers that were some of the best I've had. I had the King Salmon with Zucchini and pattypan squash on a bed of pesto, that was light and bright and the vegetables and fish were cooked perfectly. My husband had the grilled skewered shrimp with a light salad with Chimichurri, it was delicious and obviously all made in house. We would highly recommend!
