Overall it was a good experience and staff was very cordial and friendly.
We loved the seafood and fish courses but not the meats. Some courses were really great but some were expected. I was expecting a little bit more for the price.
My husband and I do not mind the long intervals between course servings but please - provide very comfortable chairs in the restaurant if you expect people to be sitting down for almost 3 hours.

Don was a friendly and attentive waiter. We were informed about each course. The food was well prepared and delicious! We liked that the food was locally sourced. The environment was inviting.
The food and service were amazing. Every course was beautifully presented and delicious. The waitstaff was attentive and knowledgeable. It did get extremely loud at times but it didn’t take away from the experience.

My wife and I recently did a 3 week tour of our favorite 3 restaurants in the area, saving Maize for last. It just so happened that week was the Chef’s 8 course Dinner Special. It was better than we expected! Wow! What an experience. Four thumbs up!
I used to love maize. We love matt the chef. But going to prix fixe menu is a huge bummer. Very expensive and eating a single bite every 15 minutes is so much different than our historical experience. I hope he goes back to regular menus!
Amazing meal, great server, a great way to wind out the week.
This is the first time we’ve been to a restaurant where there is no menu, we just showed up and embarked on the adventure. Great idea, but overall just so-so. The entire dinner through dessert lasted a full three hours. I admire the staff for working so efficiently in such a small kitchen to produce an eight course dinner for 30 guests, I sat in view of the kitchen and everyone worked very well together in that cramped environment. But because of the small size, each course had to be prepared and plated individually, not with an overlapping schedule, and some of the gaps between the courses felt overly prolonged. The dishes were interesting for the most part, some better and more successful combinations than others, all presented very well. Portions small, as might be expected, but for ~$220 for two people, including coffee and tip, it felt a bit too much. Last, it’s a single room, hardwood floors, prone to being noisy, and with most of the people drinking wine, by halfway through the meal it got uncomfortably loud. We’re glad we went, interesting experience, but we won’t be going back.
My wife and I really enjoyed the food and the service was great. I wish it wasn’t so pricey so we could do it more than once a year.
We went for our 30th wedding anniversary. We were one of only 2 couples in the restaurant that evening. The "experience" begins before you arrive, as we were contacted by the restaurant the afternoon of our dinner reservation. They inquired if there were any food allergies in our party and if there were any particular dislikes or aversions. In our case there were none, and I happily informed them we are both adventurous in our tastes and looking forward to a memorable experience! They did not disappoint!
The food and service were impeccable, as 4 people prepared each course and together painstakingly plated each. The course was then brought to our table and "presented" to us by our server Don, who explained each dish and happily answered any questions. Each of the 8 courses were uniquely prepared, unusual, and delicious. Being a "tasting menu", each individual dish is small, but we were pleasantly full when finished. Not inexpensive by anyone's standards, this was a truly enjoyable experience that I would certainly recommend to any "foodie" for a special occasion.
Our dinner took about 2 hours, but if they had more diners I could see this meal possibly taking a little longer. It was a pleasurable pace and a very enjoyable experience. We both look forward to coming back.

The food at Maize was very, very good and the service was attentive and friendly. The dining space is small (10-12 tables), with an open kitchen. You get the feeling you're dining at someone's home with a private chef preparing your meal. Given the small space, the noise level is rather high. The one thing that would have increased our enjoyment of the meal would have been to have a printed menu of the evening's tasting menu. We had a hard time hearing the server's description of each course, and it would have been nice to have it to refer back to throughout the evening. Maize is a hidden gem in Bucks County!
Food, Ambiance, Service and whole experience was outstanding!! Could not have been any better!! The perfect dining experience with incredible food!

We went for New Years
We chose to stay local for NYE and was able to get a reservation at Maize. This was our first time dining here and we were so happy that we chose this restaurant to ring in the new year.
Set menu - Each small plate are exceptional in freshness and flavor. Each course seemed to build it's flavor upon the last.
We liked the atmosphere too as everyone was eating at the same time making each course have a bit of anticipation of what was to come next.
Take a few bottles of wine and be prepared to spend time here as this experience was almost 3.5 hours start to finish. It is all well worth the wait.
We had an outstanding early seating for New Years Eve! The food was unbelievable! Don was attentive as usual. He is a delight. His assistant, a Senior at PennRidge High, was such a sweetheart. He was engaging in light conversation and also very attentive. We could not have asked for anything better than our evening at Maize!
A tiny negative: a table of 6 very loud adults opposite our table. Inconsiderate and rude. Ck. their name and don't allow them to return! LOL....

Great evening with very non typical food. Great place for special events where you are not rushed for anything as our meal was 10 courses and 4 hours of time, which was over the suggested times from the web site and also-longer than friends who were there a couple of weeks earlier by almost double.
Staff did an excellent job explaining each meal but sometimes the noise level masked some of the descriptions.
It would have been nice to have a cost estimate before on the website to know what to expect.
We planned a birthday celebration with 9 guests. The restaurant is a unique dining experience. Beyond 10 small plate courses. (Closer to 12). The food is prepared from an open kitchen nearby, all fresh and as locally sourced as possible. There is no menu and no choosing, you are the guests of the chef. (Would have liked to have had the menu printed for us to follow along, so much to keep track of!) Cozy, relaxing space with no rush as they don’t turn the tables - prepare for a long evening, as our meal unfolded for well over 3 hours). Transitioning from seafood to meats to sweets, many flavors and much care and creativity, but nothing felt forced or overly done, just complex and interesting flavors. BYOB so bring what you like and settle in for a wonderful evening.

The staff was great. My wife isn’t a big seafood fan with the tasting menu they made adjustments for her. The food was very good. The key is you have to be open to a tasting menu and accept what is being served to you. That being said Maize will make adjustments for your particular tastes and needs.
The place is awesome! The chief Matt is incredible as is his staff.

The experience was great. There really isn't anything like this in the area. That said, a couple of things that didn't strike a cord with me. The herbed and oiled popcorn seemed a bit out of place in a fine dining restaurant. Other than that, I thought that the meal progressed a little too slow.
Food wise all of the main tasting courses were excellent. The pork cheeks, though, were over the top amazing.
The food, as always, was fabulous. The new 8 course tasting menu allows guests to concentrate on socializing and not on food selection.
Maize, our favorite Bucks County restaurant, recently changed its menu format from a la carte (with a prix-fixe option) to a prix-fixe ($85/8 courses) only. The new format gives diners an opportunity to explore a menu that features a variety of dishes and changes frequently. Chef Matt McPhelan continues to please with his sophisticated interpretations using fresh ingredients. With a little advance notice, he is extremely flexible in adapting his nightly menu to diners' tastes and preferences, providing guests who are vegetarians, vegans, pescatarians, lactose-avoiding or gluten-avoidant a chance to enjoy his cooking. Service is excellent and the noise level is usually acceptable. Maize is BYO and your visit is leisurely: allow for 2 hours to enjoy your food and wine. During our recent Saturday evening visit, several parties had canceled, resulting in an unusually quiet evening. Time will tell whether Maize's fans will embrace the new format, but I'd suggest you get a feast for $85 per person.

We have been here many times and have never, ever had anything but an outstanding meal. This is by far the best restaurant in the area!
Perkasie is so lucky to have such an incredible restaurant! Chef Matt and his staff are superb! We have been going to Maize almost weekly for about 5 years. Each week is wonderful. EVERYTHING, from the popcorn to dessert is top notch. The new format, one seating, 8 courses, is equally impeccable, however, I don’t think I can do 8 courses each week, so we will sadly need to cut down on how frequently we go. But for a special, very special, meal it is truly the best. Shout out to Don for a great front of the house! Just a note, noise can be a problem when the restaurant is full.
Overpriced for the value especially for a BYOB! Appreciated what the chef was trying to do with the eight course experience, but overall missed the mark. Tasting plates of cold pear and crab salad (texture and temperature was really weird) and greasy popcorn didn’t really match the $100+ pp price tag (includes tip). Service was attentive, but would recommend that they communicate to make sure guests are aware of the new style and length of service (close to 3hrs for a tasting!) and menu for the night (if they are not going to include that sort of information on their website). Would go back if I could dine a la carte.
As always the food was excellent at Maize. We love the atmosphere there as well!
This was our first visit since Maize introduced the tasters menu. It was a wonderful experience and every dish was a delight. We were seated at 6pm and left after 9:30...and we were very fortunate to have been seated next to a very friendly couple and we struck up a lively conversation...which leads me to my only concern: The noize level was excessive and conversation was difficult. There are a number of ways the folks at Maize could employ sound dampening and to ensure this amazing restaurant continues well into the future someone needs to address this issue.
