Makla

It was a relatively quiet night so there were many free tables, but I rather prefer it like that. The tables are a little bit small if there are 4 people dining - food and drinks, and the wooden chairs not so comfortable at the end of an hours sitting time but over all the food was good, and plenty to to fill a hungry male, and the welcome warm and authentic.

The last time at Makla I rated all at 10/10 This experience was very different. The food ok but not as good as had tagine. A large noisy party arrived and were sat right in middle upstairs. I had to leave as they were so noisy and rude. Leaning on our table to take selfies and scraping chairs on floor. Felt really uncomfortable.

This was our third visit and unfortunately the service was was really bad. Staff were friendly but there was clearly something going wrong, and not just for us. It was one thing after another. They did apologise at the end but it was embarrassing at times. Very unfortunate but hopefully a one off.

Enjoyed our evening at Makla. The food was tasty. The music got a bit ‘dramatic’ so we asked for it to be changed which the staff happily did so. I’d definitely return.

A lovely evening at Makla. Moroccan food with a nod to British culture. Loved the lamb shank tagine, the meat was so tender, absolutely delicious! Would definitely return.

Staff were extremely friendly and we really enjoyed spending our night here so would recommend to friends! We will be back

Our first visit to Makla and it certainly will not be the last.
It is a bright welcoming restaurant and the service is excellent.
The food was delicious and the owner knew the ingredients of every dish as one of the
party has a nut allergy.Nothing was too much trouble and they care.
The menu is varied and reasonably priced.

It was so cold in there we sat with our coats on. The food was lovely but we left early due to temperature.

Loved the food and the ambience i had the vegan tagine at £12.95 i found the small plate of chickpeas in a sauce a bit pricey.
