Mamma Ventura Restaurant
Food was fantastic. Busy night because it was Gettysburg College’s family weekend but service was great. We all really enjoyed our meals.
Arrived and hostess, who appeared to be very high, had no record of our reservation. A table became available. It was quite a few minutes before our server arrived. She was fine after that. Food was pedestrian and overpriced for portions and quality. Don’t waste your time or money here!
Always excellent food , great service for a great price !
It was our 1st visit to this restaurant. Saw it on Open Table and thought we'd give it a try. Atmosphere was good, and our server was great. She was welcoming, friendly and knowledgeable of the menu. She gave us some recommendations and we took them. The food was ok. Just not what i was expecting from a family run establishment. The eggplant parm was mushy and lacked flavor (similar to a frozen product). My chicken marsala lacked any flavor of marsala wine and was pounded thin so that it was crispy and overcooked instead of tender and juicy. Our caprese appetizer was the highlight of the meal. I gave it 4 stars because of the service. I might return when in town to try the pizza or just a pasta dish.
The restaurant was having a bad night. They had no idea we‘s made a reservation (“oh, we haven’t been checking Open Table”) meaning we had to wait 45 minutes for a table. They must’ve been very short staffed because our food took forever to come out and my beef Milanese was initially raw in the middle. Our server tried to explain that this was just an off night for them, but they still charged us full price for everything and nothing there was good enough for me to go back in ever try it again
Nice atmosphere, great pizza, and cheerful waitress.
Very, very loud. Unable to hear people at your table. Food was OK. Server was great
Great place dine in with family and friends. great pasta selections.
Tucked into a small storefront only a short distance from Lincoln Circle and a GREAT break from the Irish Pub food that most of the other venues offer! Highly recommend.
Salads came out after our meal. Out of first 2 choices of wine. Wrong pasta on sausage & peppers dish.
If you go in with low expectations, you won’t be disappointed.
We have eaten at Mama Ventura's several times and recommended it to many friends. We always enjoy our time there - the food and the service are always excellent.
Food was tasty by quantities were small. G
Could have eaten 2 orders of the lasagna that I had.
Despite being a bit hesitant based on some fair and poor reviews, we were completely satisfied with the venue, service, food and price. Shrimp scampi, manicotti, and baked ravioli all were delicious. Mona was an attentive and capable server.
Meatballs and spaghetti and chicken Marsala all delicious restaurant tends to be noisy
Great food, great service and great ambiance.
As in most high tourist areas, the restaurants tend to be below average. However this is not the case with Mama Ventura’s. The food is quite good especially for Gettysburg. Their homemade ravioli are first class. Very light pasta dough which was wonderful. We have been attending Greyhounds in Gettysburg for over 10 years & finally found a good Italian restaurant.
My server was very attentive, professional, and personable. I had the chicken parmigiana. The sauce and the cheese did not overwhelm the chicken, rather they complemented the chicken. The gelato was excellent.
Very good meal and nice atmospherr
Good for a casual night out before a performance at the Majestic or a movie!
Food was delicious and fresh. Service was great! Thanks!
Mamma Ventura's was a great experience on Valentine Day. A wonderful special menu, a great staff and the food was delicious. Christina our server was on top of everything. She was a professional with great charm. Definitely try the Salmon if you visit and if it is on the menu. Thanks Mamma for a great evening.
