tomato, parmesan cheese
Olive Oil Cake
sweet mascarpone, kumquat, pistachio
First time for dinner...has the pepperoni pizza and added anchovies. I know...I know...but I love that combo.
One if the best pizzas I have ever had. The crust was amazing!
I will be back soon.
Menu is confusing. Been eating there since they opened but this made no sense. Pizza taste was killed by the weird pesto. Waitress/Bartender tried to pass off bottom shelf horrible bourbon as “high quality”.
We stopped by for drinks and it was perfect. Service was great and the drinks were delicious too.
Food was delicious, and they’ve done a nice job of creating an outdoor, socially distanced space. However, we made a reservation for 8:30 and arrived closer to 8:15. It became clear that we were the last table seated, and the staff was rushing to close. They kept saying things like “don’t want to rush you” as they were clearly rushing us, including taking away the other tables and chairs and delivering the birthday dessert while we were eating pizza. Please do not take 8:30 reservations if you want to close at 9:00.
I’d heard good things, but hadn’t had a chance to try their new pizza oven...had the pizza and calzone, both were really good and priced fairly for the quality of the ingredients and taste. Only complaint/suggestion is that the pizza could be a bit bigger.
Nice seating out doors due to the Covid situation.
Friendly service and fantastic food - beverages.
Headed back soon with friends.
We made reservations for a Saturday evening dinner. We have never visited here before and we’re looking forward to something new. When we arrived, there were several open tables and we asked to be seated under the shaded area. We were told that they were reserving the 4tops for larger parties with reservations and so we were seated at a two top near the bar. They brought out an umbrella so that we could be shaded, which we appreciated. However, in the next several minutes, as the restaurant began to fill up, they proceeded to seat a couple of parties of two at the aforementioned 4top tables. Not the end of the world, but also not a plus. Our server was very nice and attentive and had some nice suggestions about the menu. He told us that they had a new pizza oven and so we decided to share the mushroom pizza as a starter. The flavors were good, however, the pizza was undercooked. The dough was slightly raw in some places but we chose not to send it back. Our next course was the Caesar salad which was good. Finally, we decided to share the fried Parmesan chicken as the entree. We were told that the portion was quite large which it was. What we were not told is that it does not come with any sides such as veg or even pasta. It is literally 3 large pieces of chicken with sauce and some cheese and that’s it. Now, let me be clear and say that the chicken was very well cooked and seasoned and as promised, quite a large portion. What we thought was weird was that, that was the extent of the dish. If I had not shared a salad and appetizer and just ordered this as my main, I would have been stuck with a plate of meat and nothing more. I just thought it to be very odd. It was not clear on the menu, and neither did our server mention it.
Overall, this was just an ok experience. Nothing bad but also nothing really that great either.
Even with the whole covid-19 thing, our dining experience al fresco was great! The food
was well prepared as always, service was also spot on.
Outstanding service during COVID-19 times. Really enjoyed the carne asada pizza and extra spicy watermelon margarita!!!!
Great safe outdoor space.
This is the second time we’ve been since the pandemic. Food is awesome, we have yet to order one thing we wouldn’t get again.
The service is friendly and attentive. We appreciate the covid friendly guidelines and spacing between tables.
We’ll continue to come back and support this restaurant!
We had a great time. Nice to get out and walk over to one of our favorites places in the neighborhood. The staff has done a good job transitioning to outdoor seating and service. Food and service were very good as always. We’ll be back. Soon.
Seating request was honored, social distancing observed. Lovely outdoor dining experience
Very enjoyable meal. We shared Caesar salad and fried chicken Parmesan. The salad was tasty especially the croutons which were very crunchy yet juicy too. The parm was huge: 3 generous portions. The salad was also enough for 3. There was only one dessert which was an olive oil cake with berries, pistachio and ricotta. Lemony and buttery delish. Also easily enough for 3. Only thing I would suggest is perhaps another dessert option since Some people have more traditional palates (like my husband who wouldn’t even try it) when it comes to sweets. Well more for me then as I’ll be enjoying the leftovers. The outside setup is nicely done. It’s slightly on a slope but no big deal. Been wanting to go there for a while and definitely intend to go back. Especially as I want to support a small business that is involved with the community.
Best pizza dough I have ever tasted ! And the cocktails were amazing. Totally worth it !
Most excellent dining al fresco! Delicious cocktails and dependable wine list as always! We had the Wagyu steak which was so juicy and perfectly seasoned. Those potatoes were fantastic as well! We also had the Branzino which was light and super delicious. And lastly the burrata and heirloom tomato salad was so fresh and beautifully plated. We paired it nicely with their homemade freshly baked and grilled bread. Overall, it was the perfect summer meal. Cannot wait to do it again!
First timer and the food was excellent. The new outdoors dining due to covid was great. Good music and a great chef. We will be back again.
I have to applaud this restaurant for making do with what they have. Turning their parking lot (overlooking a very blight looking lot) into a enjoyable dining experience is not very easy, and yet they have done a great job! Having "grass" on the ground, nicely spaced tables, TVs and a canopy with "windows" overlooking the now bamboo wrapped fence with tiki torches make it fun! Between the three of us, we had the margarita pizza, sea bass, chicken parmesan and the heirloom tomato and burrata salad. The pizza, salad and chicken parm were enormous and could've easily fed all three, and still take home something. Nice job!
Had our second post-Covid dinner at Manhattan House.
Dinner in their parking lot at sunset was actually a really nice experience. Everyone was happy to be there, guest and staff alike, which made for a fun, relaxed atmosphere. Food was great as always. This will continue to be our GoTo restaurant.
The outdoor space was great for kids! Cocktails were on point!
The dining situation is currently in their parking lot, which has a slight slope and not much protection from the wind in the rare times that we have one. That said, they're doing everything possible to make it a good space, and it is a very relaxing experience. The food is superb and modestly priced, staff attentive, and after two visits in a week we're ready to go back. .
Service was awesome, drinks fantastic and pizza, pasta was delicious!!
Never disappoints. Food is fabulous. Don’t miss the brick chicken!
Atmosphere is good. Food was extremely salty. Inedible. Service staff was friendly and accommodating despite the big miss on food. Won’t go back though
I wasn’t sure when I first pulled up. The outside is somewhat suspect. But once we went in and started drinking and ordering it was very nice. The food was good. The bread was delish. We stayed way over the time they closed and the staff was not very happy but didn’t say anything. Oh well. I would probably go back
Food was excellent, service was excellent!
The hostess nearly ruined the evening. She forgot to give roses to some guests. Spent too long chatting with some tables and ignoring arriving guests. Left guests standing 20 minutes past reservations when there were tables open which eventually held those guests that had to wait.
Didn’t care for the prices and the food. Was decent at best but overall felt the value lacked
A bit disappointing. First off, the service was sub par. The cadence of the food being brought out of the kitchen was off. We did a price fix menu for the adults and
Stopped by with friends that were in town for happy hour on a Monday - obviously had our pick of the place but business picked up shortly after. Attentive service, good HH prices and selection - i think we ran the table on HH apps offered. I'll be back!
Really great dining experience. Everyone enjoyed their meal, we loved sitting near the fireplace, and the service was courteous and helpful. I've always had a good time here.
They didn’t serve bread! Service in beginning was slow but then picked up. 4 scallops for $30 to me wasn’t worth it then 4 itty bitty pieces of lobster in my pasta for $26? Would have to think twice before going back! The house Chianti was not available they were out which was supposed to be available for happy hour!
This is great neighborhood restaurant away from all the tourists in downtown MB. The bar is great and the cocktails are all well done. For appetizers, the sourdough with burrata and the lamb meatballs are a must. The wagyu skirt steak was tender and delicious. The rest of our party all had pasta - the tagliatelle with meat ragu is hearty and it's tough to put your fork down. The porcini risotto was drizzled with an aged balsamic which gave it a great taste. We'll keep going back.
Everyone that works there is super helpful and sweet
Dead inside at prime time and for good reason. The food is terrible.
What happened? I was just here in December and the food was great, Robin was our server and was phenomenal, no complaints about anything. I went for a business dinner with 5 other people and was unpleasantly surprised with the spotty service and lackluster food. The pork tomahawk and half of the charcuterie board was good. Wagyu steak wasn't cooked to proper temp as ordered and cut the wrong way so it was wasted quality beef. The cucumber collins (part of the reason for my return) didn't pack the same flavor and was disappointing because I had told my colleagues it was really good. It was even on the happy hour menu. If you're not gonna get the food 100% right, at least get the cocktails right. Yikes.
Super cozy and loved my lobster pasta.
Birthday dinner for my wife was a success. Food was delicious
Loved it from start to finish! Relaxed atmosphere with polished yet comfortable service. Food was delicious and portions were huge, ended up taking some home with me.
Really found a gem! A refreshingly great meal and very cool place in Manhattan Beach. Service, food and vibe was fantastic. Without a doubt, my new favorite place in all of the South Bay!
