My teenage kids and I ate here for Mother’s Day. The menu and the food were top notch! We were definitely made to feel welcome and the wait staff was delightful. I will be returning.
First time visit for Mother’s Day, extensive menu and all three of us had pizzas which were excellent. Looking fo the next visit to try something new and the brunch menu looked awesome. Also, can’t go wrong with the long list of beers.
I’ve been getting the holy smoke pizza for years. We ordered three of them on this trip and they were not as good as usual. Skimpy on all the toppings
Great staff and our food was delicious!
We enjoyed the extensive beer selection!
Food and drinks were amazing. Service was great. My complaint is about the hostesses. They were a completely confused group of women gathered together in chaos. They seemed to have no idea how to manage seating the patrons. We were told to wait outside because of COVID but then they completely forgot we were there. We went back in to check and they had no idea who we were-they seemed to not believe us when we reminded them we had already checked in. My husband finally gave up and went to the bar where seating is first come, first serve. We grabbed a table there which seemed to just annoy them. They didn't really believe that he had found a table until the young men who had left and surrendered their table to him vouched for us. It was quite ridiculous and unprofessional.
We were seated in a booth near what appeared to be a pick-up/take-out area as opposed to the actual dedicated dining rooms, which was disappointing because I had requested a nice table in writing when I made my reservation (it was a first date).
Besides that, which was a bummer because the ambiance was not much in that particular area of the restaurant, it was good.
I don’t normally leave reviews but I couldn’t let this not be said. The food was not good at all. We got the crab pizza and took one bite and refused to eat the rest the crab tasted fishy and bad. And being pregnant that’s a huge red flag. The bacon and broccoli was okay tasting until I got to the third bite and huge pockets of oil. The bacon fries were AMAZING. But sadly not likely to return due to the price and how the food tasted. Service was okay, our waiter only checked on us a few times before the food came not after until I flagged him down for the check. We just wanted to get out of there. It was a weird off putting experience. When we left the hosted and manager asked how everything was, we said it was okay we guess, because I didn’t want to make a scene. When in fact it wasn’t good at all.
Amazing thank you
Very limited menu. Bad bottle of wine. Inexperienced wait staff. Good pizza crust but most pizza options were loaded with meat. Cool setting in historical building however. Our search for fresh dough brick oven artisan pizza and good wine in a quiet setting in Howard County continues.
Brunch begins at 10 but we had to wait until noon to eat outside in the garden area which was a bit inconvenient but fine. Not able to order drinks out there, only cans and bottles of water, which were a fee too. Didn't really like the carry out style service. Person bringing our food never even said a word. Just dropped food and left. High prices for food. Wouldn't eat outside again
Great environment, food and beer! I will definitely come again.
We went for lunch and the food was quite good. I really liked the Boar pizza. My friend had the most enormous cobb salad. Enough for 2 meals. The place is historic but I found it a bit dark and sparsely decorated. Not really very exciting. But the excellent food outweighs the ambiance. I hate when they don't have a menu to look at. Hopefully this goes away after covid. It is a pain to try pull it up online or to scan. An unnecessary inconvenience. They should have some sealed in plastic to give out if a customer wants one.
This restaurant is the best place in Ellicott City. Outstanding food and drinks that are so well thought out. Hosts and servers are all professional and on point!
Pizza and appetizers were delish! Waiter and ambiance was also great.
Great meal. Everyone in my group enjoyed their selections. Standouts included "Bagel & Lox" entree salad, crabmeat & blue cheese pizza, mussels, and a fantastic Manor Hill Belgian Tripel draft beer.
Felt a bit pricey for being brought out as take out, as we ate in the beer garden. The Southwest chicken salad was underwhelming and seemed shorted on the toppings. The State Fair dip was awesome. All in all was good but not great.
Great casual dining for our anniversary dinner. Enjoyed dinner on the deck.
Great service and food was super fast and tasty! The outdoor seating was wonderful, definitely would revisit for another meal.
Sat on the outside patio for Easter brunch. Everything was great, including the weather.
Kids mac & cheese wasn’t worth the seven dollars. It was a bit dry and seemed like it was a reheated dish. Service was good, just a little slow to get the check. Everything else was delicious.
Love this restaurant! Quaint, delicious food and great service. We were seated right away and our pleasant server was very attentive. The brunch menu is fantastic.... YUM!
manor hill always has great food and service. it is one of my favorite places to go. i know i can always count on a great experience
We hadn’t been together for many months! It was a pleasure to meet up with close friends in a quiet and warm space.
Food was fantastic beer was amazing! Had a wonderful time!
Salads and pizza always great.
Fun place for a date!
Great Service! I love the chicken cobb salad, which I do get every time I come but I always wish there was chunkier/more chicken! :) I will continue to get the salad LOL but I REALLY think it would be better with more chicken/chunks of the beer can chicken!
Went there with friends for my birthday dinner. I had a wonderful time. The service was excellent. Even though it appeared that they were busy, the waiter was attentive and fast. The food was just perfect. Thank you Manor Hill Tavern for providing me an evening of fond memories.
We love it there! Great food, nice portions! And, Kayla is the best!
Great restaurant and price point. Service was very good.
Requested table upstairs 1 week in advance to safely celebrate brother and sisters birthday (twins). Request was not fulfilled, instructed to wait outside in cold while people picking up carryout waited inside, table directly next to front door was arranged (also cold). Crab cakes not good, Mac and cheese bland per everyone who tried at table. They do not celebrate birthdays (no dessert or singing). Waitress was nice.
Poor crab cake sandwich for Maryland. Waitress it was outstanding, but not so.
The food was good, tables were a good distance apart and people wore masks when they left their tables.
Great service, great food. Loved the ambiance and relaxed feeling. It was a great escape from the pandemic grind for a few hours!
Excellent food and service at reasonable prices.
Mimosas are are good, but by the pitcher, instead of bottomless, so be prepared to buy a pitcher just for yourself. The crab cake sandwich was really good. However the waffles in the chicken and waffles were very sugary. Kinda felt like you were crunching on sugar.
I love Manor Hill, the bar area having the best atmosphere. We were in a back room with no music or atmosphere. Big drawback. Loaded fries are awesome, the Brussels were drowned in Buffalo sauce, not their best effort. Pizza’s are always good and Bird is the Word a great sammie. Spicy Margs tonite. Not as good as last visit. Consistency would be good. Overall I highly recommend.
The menu and specialty menu were excellent, everyone enjoyed their food, the atmosphere and the service. Perfect for our family get together.
