Mansion House 1757
Incredible farm to table food, we got the pecan crusted chicken & crab cakes, absolutely delish! I also got the pear champagne cocktail it was yummy & not too sweet. Cant wait to go back!
My wife and I spent a night in Gettysburg and wanted to get a flavor of country charm with quality food. This restaurant did not disappoint. The hostess and proprietor greeted us warmly, had us seated at a socially distanced table in what was a sitting room in an old Inn that she and her husband had just reopened and refurbished after the house had been closed for years.
The waitstaff was prompt and courteous, the food superlative, and the prices reasonable. The only minor quibble was that bread for the table had a surcharge. Silly, since soups were featured and bread goes great with soups.
We would definitely return here. The Inn is beautiful and is worthy of patronage.
Super food. Outstanding service. Historic setting. Don't get much better than that.
Awesome service, atmosphere, and food. Highly recommend!
Great food and service. Recommend the salmon entree and pecan-crusted chicken with maple reduction. A very pleasant evening with friends on the patio. The history of the property is also interesting, with Ike and Mamie eating there during their years in Gettysburg.
Chef George served the best "She Crab Bisque" I have ever had. From drinks to first and second courses and dessert, the entire experience was outstanding.
The food was delicious and the service was outstanding. We will definitely be back, whenever we can make the long trip.
We stayed the night, and enjoyed the breakfast so much we ended up making dinner reservations. It's a very cozy B we loved his farm-to-table concept. Additionally, they could accommodate vegetarians with something more creative and flavorful than pasta or a salad. We also appreciated the variety of desserts. My husband picked something more heavy to counter his light fish dinner, while I chose perfectly grilled fruit in a lighter sauce to counter my heavy black bean dish dinner. We look forward to the opportunity to return!
Food poorly seasoned. Poor food choices and fkat flavor profiles on everything we ordered. Expected more
Wait staff was good.
Overall unimpressive dinner.

Excellent food and service. Meal had great and unique flair. Definitely on m favorites list! Will be back!
Great food in a very nice setting
Only about 10 miles away, We chose Mansion House on a visit to Gettysburg battlefield. We wanted to get a bit further from the tourist area, see the “real” countryside and it was perfect.
We were warmly welcomed and offered choices of seating areas. We chose the Eisenhower room, a lovely space. Service was very attentive and the owner came by to chat a few moments, telling history of the town and hotel. There was a small miscommunication in one cocktail order which was quickly and cordially remade. A farm to table restaurant, everything, including vegetables was very tasty. I had crab cakes and my wife had salmon.
Gave a 4 star on value because everything is ala carte. Entrees come with starch and vegetable, but no salad/soup or even bread is included with a dinner. I realize that these are trying times and restaurants are being forced to adjust their pricing to accommodate limited seating, so I don’t want to be too critically. I’m happy that they are open.
Yes, I would definitely visit MH again.
Excellent service. From the server, hostess, and chef, everyone was very polite and accommodating. Food was excellent as well.
Keep coming back. The only thing that would make it better is if the food were free....
We had a wonderful time at Mansion House. The short menu still had multiple very appealing choices for us to ponder. Our server, Carrie, was attentive, friendly, and on top of everything. Our hostess was welcoming and gladly checked on us at the end of our meal as well. We are so glad we found this gem in our vicinity!
So happy to see the Inn taking off again. Enjoyed the scallops. Looking forward to returning to try more great menu items.
The mushrooms used in the mushroom casserole were chewy, generally things were salty (though I don’t use or cook with salt so that is probably just me), the Desserts were good, but no bread was served with the meal. It was extremely expensive.
Imperial crab egg roll appetizer was a tasty start! Scrumptious crab cakes with freshly cooked vegetables. Delicious drinks & amazing peanut butter ice cream pie to top off a fabulous meal! Farm to table food, excellent service in a lovely atmosphere! Don't miss an opportunity to dine here! Can't wait to return & try another outstanding meal!
Everything was delicious and the staff was friendly and welcoming. We’ll definitely be going again.
The food was great, the historic atmosphere suburb and the service perfect. The owners are extremely nice and gave us a tour of the inn. Highly recommend this beautiful dining experience. We will be back.
This place was terrific! I rarely right reviews, but I had to share this place. The food was perfectly cooked and delicious, the menu was varied enough for both the adventurous eater and the picky eater, the cocktails were sublime and thoughtful. The service really took it to the next level, though. Our server was outstanding; she was attentive, friendly, and had great suggestions. The ambience was beautiful and quiet.
To top off a great experience, the owner offered us a tour of the inn, which is decorated to fit the time period of the inn and had beautiful antique pieces in the rooms. I hope to stay there in the future!
My son and his girlfriend were disappointed that they could not get a side salad with their meal. And that it cost an additional $5. for 4 rolls. Outside of that everything was very good. The place is beautiful. And the service was excellent. I look forward to coming back.
Enjoyed a lovely meal on the porch. Lovely setting.. wonderful service and warm welcome.. A bit noisy from traffic at times. We will go back again.
New owners have revitalized this historic inn!
Great meal, gracious hosts and historic charm.
Great food. Excellent service. Beautiful rooms. Loved egg roll appetizer and tenderloin entree.
Super restaurant - been 3 times already - never a disappointment - if anything gets better and better
We had an enjoyable experience. The staff was courteous and friendly, and the atmosphere was charming. The food was delicious! A little noisy on the patio, but otherwise a lovely time.
Quick tip: Watch your speed entering the town.
Great food and ambience. The staff was stellar and the chef even greeted us!
First visit and food and service were outstanding. Highly recommend this new restaurant in a beautiful historic location
The Inn is under new ownership and with that are new ideas and menu. We did make reservations since it was Labor Day weekend. The decision was made to eat outside on the porch and enjoy the evening. Weather was perfect, however the the Inn is on the main street and traffic noise could be bothersome to some. The dining area inside was for the most part very quiet. Our meals were very tasty with adequate portions. The menu did have a variety of choices. The Inn also obtains many of its menu items from the local farms. The Inn also has a full service bar with an assortment of beer from local breweries. The server was very attentive and offered her suggestions of what to try. The Chef even made his rounds to collect any feedback from the patrons. I will definately return to get another meal.
Second visit, and this time was better than the first. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable about the menu, which was very helpful. Food was better this visit, even though our first visit was not disappointing at all. Several more entrees we want to enjoy, so we’ll be back.
We ate outside which I love but it is a bit noisy because of the traffic. But overall a really great place to eat and the food is wonderful! Highly recommended!
Mansion House owned now by dear friends.
Celebrated our 32 wedding anniversary dinner.
Food was incredible and server was awesome and attentive.
Will be coming back for sure!
Cocktails were outstanding as well!
Please visit whenever you are in the area and can do so!
The service and food were fantastic. Amazing crab cakes, oyster sliders, steak, dessert, and appetizers! Highly recommend. Very COVID safe, too!
The Mansion House 1757 is not only serves delicious food and drinks, but our entire evening was just wonderful! My husband and I celebrated our 25th wedding anniversary at the Mansion House 1757 last week. We cannot express how impressed we both were at not only the freshness, presentation, and taste of our food, but also the hospitality of every single person. Everything, and I mean everything was absolutely delicious. It's obvious the owners, Cindy and George, take great pride in every aspect of running The Mansion House. The atmosphere was quiet and very relaxed. Our waitress, Sarah, was extremely attentive, pleasant, and easy going. The chef and owner, George, actually came out to greet us and ask how our meals were! After we finished our meals (including our scrumptious desserts), our waitress, Sarah, told us that George would be taking us on a tour of the Mansion House. George spent at least 45 minutes with us, giving us our very own private tour. He even took us into the kitchen! We were blown away by the cleanliness and overall order of the kitchen. I mean, what other restaurant would allow you to see their kitchen!? The entire house has so much character, rich history, and is beyond interesting to see. George was full of stories (and quite funny!) as he took us to tour the upstairs bed and breakfast suites/rooms. The rooms are beautifully decorated, very clean, and most importantly, fit the character of the historic house and restaurant. We are already planning to do an overnight in one of the suites in the very near future. It was that lovely and just plain cool! Everything about our evening was perfect. The Mansion House 1757 is a true treasure... right down to the folks that run it and work there. One of the best restaurants we've eaten at in a very long time!
Exceptional service and fantastic cuisine!!
Longtime visitors to both the restaurant and Inn and realized that it had changed owners. The “boutique” approach to the restaurant was disappointing. We always enjoyed the period types of food mixed with more contemporary fish and steak meals. My wife was all ready for the pot pie which was no longer on the menu. Probably won’t go back.
This was our first visit and it was exceptional. From the setting to the service to the FOOD! We
