   Excellent choice for a wedding anniversary ❤️ it was our first year together. Her first time at a restaurant you needed to reserve a seat for. It couldn’t have been more perfect. The champagne on the house really sealed the deal. Thank you Margaux

   We arrived a little earluer than our reservation and they were good with that. The ambiance was fine and we really liked the open kitchen area. Was good to watch the chefs not being rushed but methodical as they went about their craft. At first glance the selection was a bit light in options. We were hoping for a little broader selection. My braised boar pasta was exceptional. Perfectly done and a perfect portion, not overwhelming. My wife got the filet medallions and they were really good but there was far to much pepper that they were encrusted in. She had to scrape a lot off and still too overwhelming with so much pepper taste that she couldn’t taste the filet much. I tried it and agree. We took most of it home and had to ‘doctor it up, to calm it down’. We both feel that if you get such a great cut of meat it should be the event, not the surroundings. Also we did get the flatbread which was great! Very flavorful. Service was very good and timely. Very friendly waiter but when we first got there I ordered a glass of wine and she almost did but then ordered a cup of coffee first. He never asked us again if we wanted any other drinks but our water glasses got a lot of attention. Overall very good but we were expecting great.

    We came for our anniversary dinner and they did so much to make it special. But even besides that the food and service were incredible. It is tied for my favorite restaurant with MDRD.

    Exceptional service. Very good food. Only think that kept me from rating it excellent was an extremely small portion size on the salmon. Maybe 4-5 ounces maximum, when a normal entree filet of fish is 6-8 ounces. Also, despite making a reservation, I was seated in the somewhat loud bar area even though the dining room area with tablecloth-covered tables was mostly empty. I would have preferred a tablecloth. The wine list, both by the glass and the bottle, is excellent.

    We sat outside side in their igloos. It was great. They have blue tooth so we played some romantic Valentine's day music. Food was good service great. A little expensive but as expected from a high end restaurant.they had blankets for the igloos of they were chilly. The igloos had heaters but it was freezing rain out at like 23 so it was a little chilly and the blankets helped to keep us very comfortable.

    I can't say enough good things about our experience. It was a special 80th birthday for my sister-in-law and the staff did a great job of making her night special. Esvan our waiter knew his stuff and described the dishes beautifully. Joel the Asst. General Manager greeted us and welcomed the birthday girl to Margaux. Chris, the bartender crafted her an especially good "Lemon Drop" Martini. It made her smile. The food was presented well and tasted as good as it looked. The birthday dessert topped off the evening. We will be back soon. Thanks to Margaux for making our experience wonderful. P.S. Loved the candles in the windows on arriving.

    Best steak in Grand Rapids however they have raised the prices significantly over the years but it is the best you can buy in GR so can’t argue. They remodeled but wish it had a darker more private romantic ambiance for the prices feels like you are sitting in a cafeteria. Drinks are expensive it strong my favorite is the Gun Rue

    Extremely nice ambiance. We ate there for breakfast and it was my wife's birthday. Our table was ready as reserved. The service was outstanding. My wife had the corned beef plate and I had the eggs benedict. Both were satisfactory. We both wished we had selected to take the breakfast buffet. The server provided a complementary mimosa to celebrate her birthday. which was very well appreciated. Due to the rather high prices, not sure we would dine there again in the future.

    My wife and I went to Margaux to celebrate Valentine's Day. The atmosphere was perfect; romantic, intimate and beautiful. From the decor to the view of the river, it was truly spectacular. The service was impeccable and the food was outstanding. The gnocchi is a must try and even if you don't think you have room, you have to finish your meal off with the creme brulee. Definitely a must try and worth every penny.

    The gnocchi portion was less than a quarter of a cup of food for over $25. In addition they asked us to leave because they wanted to get out of there at 10:30 at night.

    We were in town for my wife’s birthday and really loved this place — nice ambiance and particularly liked the waiter, who gave us a free pour of champagne but admitted it wasn’t the best. Salmon and filet de poivre outstanding, good wine list and beer and dessert.

    Gosh, I almost hate to post this so Margaux can continue to 'stay under the radar' but WOW it was great! Everything, the food, the service - Liz our server was lovely, kind, and patient,(she fussed over Grammie and made sure she had the perfect drink). The ambiance, the wine choices -- it was all top notch. I did not have a cocktail but my dinner companions did and found them well done. Although on the expensive side, everything we ate was excellent in both taste and preparation. Honestly, Margaux is GR's best kept secret - a hidden gem!

    We had a lovely evening celebrating my 70th. Vibrant Callie brought us champagne for a birthday toast. From tasty and creative cocktails to wonderful entrées, and ending with a fabulous birthday dessert, Melissa kept us 6 very happy diners.

    Our server was great, really knew the menu and was friendly. Food was outstanding. Had wild boar which was phenomenal. And we did have dessert—which we each had different things and they were great as well, so save room for that.

    The food was excellent especially the French Onion Soup and the Campanella - Wild Boar with Pasta. The service was outstanding and the recommendations by the server were excellent for both food and wine.

    Menu is extremely limited, especially for diners who are gluten intolerant; the martini tasted as if it were made by a bartender unfamiliar with the drink itself; service was mediocre, pleasant but rather slow; and other than the higher level of noise, the experience was OK, but not one I need to repeat anytime soon.

    We enjoyed our breakfast very much! Food was delicious, the servers and omelette chef were super friendly and attentive and the atmosphere was great! It was a beautiful restaurant, comfy seats and benches and beautiful table setting. Just a little laugh… we were 5 minutes late so I apologized to the hostess and said hope it’s ok… she sighs and looks at the reservation list in disgust, pauses dramatically and then says right this way… as if they didn’t have room at 715am with only 2 other guests in the entire restaurant. Surprising response from a higher end restaurant hostess. The servers were plentiful and waiting for guests so there was no need for the hostess to be that way. Besides her, AWESOME experience and I’d happily recommend it! Just leaving an honest review. Oh and try the custom omelets, made by an awesome chef. They were delicious!

    Service great. Salad was incomplete but they comped it. Filet was great but crappy salad with no dressing and fried potato strings you can get from a can. Not worth the price overall. Not likely to go back unless they do a much better job on the dishes.
