Mastro's Steakhouse - Thousand Oaks
Always a great dining experience at Mastros. With all the Corona Virus concerns it was nice to have a nice meal with good friends and forget about the issues for a couple of hours.
They changed their menu and no longer have the Chefs Cut New York which pretty much bummed my husband out - but he was still happy with suggested New York.
Still the best steaks I have found. Service is always phenomenal. The martinis and deserts are to die for. Always our go-to location for any special occasion...or any excuse to go!
Wonderful meal as always ...fabulous waiters and bartenders. The food is the beat out there
The meal you expect to indulge in is to come with a great table, great server, an incredibly delicious entrees and wow cocktails. Everything we tasted, sipped or shared was excellent. A perfect venue for celebrating being alive.

This was the worst experience ever. I was with 2 girlfriends and all of us frequent Mastro a lot for date nights, family occasions, etc. we felt discriminated against that night. Our drinks took an extremely long time. No one ever came to check on us. We had to physically get up and go to the hostess to place our dinner order. It was a terrible experience.
Marco our waiter was excellent. The whole experience was top notch. Can’t wait to go back.
First time at Mastros. Took my wife for her birthday. We were very impressed with the service. We were made to feel special the whole time we were there. The food was good and the portions were very ample. We ate there took food home and had two more meals with the left overs. Would recommend for a special occasion.
The food was excellent and was well worth the cost. The wait staff were all excellent and very knowledgeable as to the menu. I was not happy with the fact that the company charged for valet service.

I made a reservation earlier in the week for a date night with my husband. Sadly it didn’t start well since we had to wait half an hour for our table. Once seated all was good.
We enjoyed the food as usual but were not completely happy with our server. He seemed curt at times and not the normal catered to experience we have enjoyed in the past. This was the first time we have not been thrilled with our visit. We hope to have a better overall experience on our next visit.
Celebrating a birthday. We open the menu and it has the birthday girl's name at the top of the menu. Such a wonderful touch that we weren't expecting. Great food, great service.
I am usually a great fan of Mastros and have been since it opened.Typically I have a fantastic meal and fantastic service. This was not that night.. I found a plastic bag tie clip in my mouth from my mashed potatoes. Not normal I know, actually the first time I have ever had any issues with any food item at Mastros. The manager did come to the table apologized, and provided new potatoes which at that point I had no desire for. I get it. Things like that happen, but at Mastros where you are paying top dollar?!? They provided a free desert as well. Then they had issues with the credit card machine, waited forever, had to run it with a paper slip! Somehow in this craziness you would guess they would comp the entire meal or at least a large part of it..nope just free deserts and a $14 credit on a $500 plus meal. I have been a waiter and bar tender for many year prior to my professional career and understand how things run in a high end restaurant. Very disappointed in my favorite local restaurant for many years.
I had Heart of Ribeye. BEST ribeye I have ever had!! The Butter Cake is probably the greatest dessert I have ever had!
We were sick for days. Ugh. We both had steak,I had lobster bisque, my husband had onion soup. Onion soup was way better. I had the chopped salad, that and the bread basket were the best. I had a Cosmo, it smokes, which is fun. The hot butter cake was Nasty. It tastes strongly of butter flavoring, and I mean flavoring, not real butter. Everyone else loves it. Don’t get the Mac and cheese. It is horrible. It is noisy and the tables are tightly packed. The waiters ask if you have been there before, and if you say No you are in for a long wait. The service was slow.
We waited ten minutes for the waiter to come, and ten minutes for our check. He was shmoozing with other guests. The garbage cans in the bathroom were overflowing and not too clean. Valet was very efficient.
Excellent dinner! Amazing menu of selections and that was before hearing the specials for the evening-Easy and convenient for attending a concert across the street. Very accommodating! Loved the key lime pie!! Petite filet with crab-cake best ever!! Thank you to our attentive and gracious server for keeping us on time as well.
This place was awesome, as usual. Lemon Drop Martini's to start were, OMG, fabulous! They are bomb, no question about it! Food was excellent. Steaks were cooked to perfection. I ordered Sea bass here for the first time. It was so good. I was thinking steak restaurant, so steak, right? They did a great job. Might be a new favorite. Usually a Filet for me. Service was on point as always! Can't wait to go back.
Another quality evening at Mastro's. We were a party of 7 on a Sunday evening celebrating an Anniversary. Our server Erin did a great job and made all guests feels welcome.
Option to do half salads and the scallop appetizer as an entree made guests happy.

The best steak house we have been to with the most courteous, helpful, friendly staff imaginable. Our night was magical and our bellies delightfully full.
The Best Steakhouse in Thousand Oaks, the BEST Steakhouse in Ventura County. The bar area is energetic, always great music, always great service. The steaks are A-mazing! Quality Beef and Cooked to Perfection. As for starters, the crab appetizers and oysters are our favorites, but the ahi tacos are pretty great too. I miss the hot spinach salad. The porterhouse is our favorite steak, but honestly, whatever your fav cut of beef, it will be absolutely outstanding here. As for sides, WOW, hard to choose. The gnocchi, the Mac and Cheese, the Cream Corn, the Sautéed Spinach, the Brussel Sprouts...just get your favorite and you won't be disappointed. My husband is not a fan of Mac & Cheese except for Mastro's, he loves it here. As for dessert, the buttenrcake is good on some days and ok on others...but many people really love it. There are other great appetizers. As for the service, every person on staff is excellent from cocktail waitresses who also act as waiters, to the formal waiters in the dining room, to bus service and they are all exceptional. You will be treated well and then some. The wine list is a tad expensive, but has some good finds. Cocktails, well, I choose scotch normally - but here - COSMOPOLITAN is the BOMB!
Mastro’s never fails to disappoint. Always top class service and food. The bone in rib eye was perfectly cooked and so tasty. Now they offer truffle butter which kicks up the flavor even more. The whole party was very pleased with all their entrees and sides.

Food and service was outstanding! It got a little noisy as the evening went on but loved the music in the bar. Excellent experience overall. We will definitely go back!
I love that we have Mastro's out here on this side of LA and this venue does not disappoint. This particular trip we dined in the bar room at one of the booths. Wonderful service and food as always. The bar room had tons of energy and was much louder than dining in the other 2 available rooms, but they also showcased an INCREDIBLE duo on the Piano. All around fantastic visit between the food, service and entertainment. Top of the marks - we loved it.
Been here many times and it’s my favorite place for special events. Food is great and service is excellent! What else could anyone want?
I am never disappointed at Mastro's. The food and service are always top notch. We had the 48oz Rib Eye cooked and seasoned to perfection. The side dishes were awesome'
Gnocchi, lobster mashed potatoes , creamed spinach...delish!
Sea Food tower was awesome.....and let's not leave out the butter cake. A must have no matter how full you are.
Had a birthday dinner for my wife and daughter, food was outstanding as was our service. Best steak dinner we’ve had.

Service was too slow for this level of dining. Was seated in a cold bright side room no ambiance. Won’t go back on a Saturday. Not worth the higher price
The food was excellent but the service wasn’t as good as in the past.
We have been to Mastros many times in the past 10 years, the food is always good but I guess when you pay that much it should be exceptional. The waiter was a problem, didn’t provide us w the daily specials although we heard them from another table. And yet again, it’s really loud especially when you get a party of 8 next to you.
Not sure if we will be back, time to look for some place else.
Great experience! We were catching a show across at the Thousand Oaks Civic Plaza. Our server was conscientious of our time constraint and was pleasant and very accommodating.
The waiter JP was a homie overall a good dining experience

The chilean sea bass was very disappointing. I believe not authentic. We will probably not go back. Had a similar experience at the Malibu restaurant.
It started off a little rough, but ended up excellent thanks to our amazing waiter Michael. He was great as usual. We had him before when there was a Ventura County Sheriff fund raiser and he was great then as well. The only reason it was bad in the beginning was mainly due to a large party in the patio area. This seemed to take the time and attention of several staff members. We always enjoy the food and specialty drinks. I knew in advance that there was a large party, but assumed staff would be in extra force during this. Other than this little issue in the beginning, Michael made our experience exceptional. I try to recommend him every time.
