Our waiter was so friendly and the staff took really good care of us. We never has to ask for anything as they were very attentive and accommodating as well for our 5 year old. My wife and I along with our son will be again when we visit Louisville again!

We really expected more. Such as more attention to detail with waiter placing napkins in lap etc, not having to ask to cork and pour the wine, and it was very noisy. The waiter did a good job reviewing the menus and bourbon/wine list. We had to wait 20 minutes to pay our bill. The waiter never came back so we had to check out at the counter. They apologized profusely for him not coming back to take care of the bill. We still tipped 20% because that’s what we do. Very cool to go out on the balcony and watch the race. The restaurant was lovely. We were looking forward to the desert cart but it has been suspended. The steak was cooked just as we asked, but to be honest I have had better steak. The bread and strawberry butter for the biscuits was amazing!

Visited Louisville for the first time with my wife and stumbled across this restaurant from google maps search. Total exceeded our expectations based upon an internet search and got to witness Churchill Downs. Couldn’t ask for a better lucky pick; my wife thinks I’m a genius. AND our server Jackson was “Spot On”!

Excited to check out the restaurant. The table behind us was very loud. A little disappointed the menu didn’t match the one online. A few items weren’t the same and the prices were different.

Service was slow. Even though we asked for a minute to choose our cocktail selection it was 20 minutes before we got our glass of wine. I understand in times like this employees are stretched but that seems a little excessive. Overall service wasn’t the caliber for the restaurant. I would still recommend a restaurant. The food was outstanding

Definitely a thrill to dine on Millionaire's Row at Churchill Downs. Hard to Justify the enjoyment of the fine food, since we spent nearly three times our entire weekly grocery budget on this one dinner. All good thanks to Rich Strike!

Food was mediocre at best. After ordering I was told they didn’t have the kind of steak I ordered, so had to settle for a ribeye that was very fatty and not very good. We sat in the large room with a very loud and obnoxious party. Having a quiet meal wasn’t possible. The service was okay but not great. And the prices were extremely high for the quality and experience. Will not go back.

The atmosphere, food and service were all amazing. We had the raspberry thyme martini, which was excellent and some wine to start. We also had the pony board as an appetizer, where the pimento cheese was the best part. Steak and sides were amazing. I wish we had room for dessert. We will definitely be back!

Had an amazing meal at Matt Winns! The atmosphere, view, wine, and food were all fantastic. Michael was knowledgeable about the food and drinks and when asked gave us some great recommendations. He helped to really make this experience! We enjoyed it all so much we have already made reservations to come back during the fall meet to watch some races while we dine!

Our very first visit was the best experience we could have asked for. Our waiter (Michael) spent, I would say well over 30 minutes throughout the evening explaining many different things from the menu to the history of the restaurant. I cannot say enough about Michael and so much so, that we have requested Michael to always be our waiter every time we go back. The atmosphere was incredible and that is something we really look for. The food was completely out of this world from the flavoring to presentation. The number of wine and bourbon choices they have is truly something amazing to see. We found a new favorite place for just about every occasion. Thank you again Michael for a wonderful evening.

Food was delicious! Forgot my French onion soup and my sons salad but way made up for it with dessert! Both server and manager made the experience nice. Disappointed that they was no golf cart or dessert cart. Would not recommend around Derby for a casual experience but we’ll definitely be back when the festivities are over so we can get the full treatment!

The service we received at Matt Winns was outstanding! Our server Mike Parsley met us at the outside entrance to assist with my mother who required a wheelchair as she could not walk the long distance from parking lot. Now that's above and beyond service! Our table by the windows gave us a dazzling view of Churchill downs and the leather chairs are the most comfortable chairs for dining you will find anywhere, the moment we sat down we knew this was going to be a great dining experience. Loved the tablecloths too, very pretty, very classy, not your everyday white linen. Nice touch. We stared with a martini for her and an Old Fashioned for me and we shared an order of Alaskan King Crab Legs which was scrumptious. Next we each had the onion soup that was very good, but less onions and more broth would have been more to our tastes and saves room for the heartier courses to come. Our filets were cooked to perfection sizzling with flavor and perfect texture. The mashed potatoes were some of the best we've ever had, they did not need any extra butter or salt/pepper, each bite was exactly as it should be, bravo! The roasted asparagus with Meyer Lemon Hollandaise was delicious, asparagus flavorful and just the right crunch and the Hollandaise deliciously tangy. Our server Mike Parsley made the experience so delightful from beginning to end. He answered all our many questions with deep knowledge, professionalism and charm. From Bourbons to Wine, to the Food Menu to Churchill Downs history and horse racing, Mike walked us through it all. We will definitely return to Matt Winns to experience more as we couldn't possibly try everything Mike suggested that tantalized us in just one evening! Highly recommend Matt Winns Steakhouse for a truly unique, luxurious and charming dining experience. Ask for Mike!

If was a fantastic experience!! The ambience was elegant and exciting being at the track. The onion soup and steaks were beyond amazing. But, best of all, was the service!! Meg was our server and, while I’ve been to many 5 star restaurants, we’ve never had a better server! Meg was kind and engaging; she was always there just as we realized we wanted something but didn’t hover. She made fantastic food and drink selection suggestions. We will definitely be back and will ask for Meg.

I took my son for his 21st birthday and we loved it. The food was great , service (Jackson was our server ) was great . I’d definitely recommend Matt Winns’ . Everyone treated us like royalty.

Everything was outstanding from the salad to dessert! Steaks were out of this world, Brussels sprouts amazing, even the whipped potatoes were great. Service and ambiance top notch. Wine and Bourbon selection huge. Pricey, but worth it. And the horses weren't even racing ! Can't recommend more highly!

We had a great experience and look forward to going back. We took our daughter out for a special dinner she is attending college near by. The lobster was cooked perfectly which I find most restaurants cannot do it is usually over or under cooked, and the ribeye was delicious. There were a few bumps but they were fixed. The creamed spinach was not creamy at all but still tasty, the chocolate cake was not impressive but everything else was pretty much delicious.

Our waitstaff headed by Will did a superb job. Meatballs, Mac n cheese, steak, chocolate cake were excellent. Views and ambiance were terrific. Even our shuttle driver who took us to the front door and back to our car was wonderful. Great job!!
