This was my third visit and I intend to keep dining at this wonderful restaurant!

Great restaurant. Super service. Quintessential steak house

Amazing food. It’s expensive, but it is truly great food. Quiet, low lighting, great relaxing ambiance. What a great experience. We will be back.

The large porterhouse was delicious as usual. Nice evening.

This place is an hour and a half away from us, but we make it a point to get there at least a couple of times each year. The food is amazing! Highest quality fresh ingredients , prepared and plated to perfection with attention to detail. Love it here and highly recommend.

Food and service were outstanding! Truly from start to finish. Thankyou Lynn for making my husband’s birthday special! Usually when we go to a steak house the other entrees pale in comparison but not here. I had a striped bass that I will remember for a while.... and the cowboy steak my husband had could stand toe to toe with any we’ve had around the country in our travels from Southern California to Chicago. Blown away.

Was recommended this place by a friend, the food was outstanding. You get what you pay for, it is not cheap, but the cuts of meat are A plus. Natalie the waitress was very attentive. I will be back!

Smart restaurant with very nice ambiance. Appetizers were very good while our steak was a medium well, not medium as we ordered. I was disappointed that my date was not served first with the app or the main course (ladies first!) Secondly, specials should always have the price included with the description. I ate at Mortons the week before... not on the same level.

We went on a Wednesday night at 6:30; that combined with COVID seating provided a quiet venue where we could converse without shouting at each other. Our server was friendly and attentive. Salads were crisp and fresh. We both had steaks, which were very good, cooked as we ordered but we did have to swap once we realized I was served the medium and my husband the medium rare. That happens often, everywhere. The broccolini was delicious but swimming in butter; if I return to Max's, I will know to ask when ordering if vegetables can be served without. We didn't order dessert.

I really enjoyed dining here with my husband for our Anniversary. The food and service were awesome. I ordered the steak frites and my husband ordered the strip steak. Both were excellent. We also got Mac and cheese which was out of this world and the smoothest mashed potatoes I’ve ever had. The servers made sure to acknowledge that it was our anniversary which we really appreciated. We will definitely visit Max’s again.

We had a delicious meal and the staff were wonderful. The bartender even came to the table to ask how are cocktails were. Manager also checked to see how everything was. Highly recommend!

The service and the food was fantastic. Overall a great experience.

We both had the specials. Scallops and pork belly over sweet potato hash tasted amazing! Waygu steak was perfectly cooked, melt in your mouth.

We had our anniversary here. The ribeye was excellent and the fillet was excellent as well.

This is now my favorite romantic restaurant. Loved the food, ambiance and staff!! I went for my 50th bday.

Good food but overpriced

Food and service were great. A bit crowded and noisy but we'd go back.

Our server went above and beyond to show us a great time. This was my wife and I's second visit to Max. We have been blown away by the quality of food and service both times. We can't think of a better place to spend this kind of money for a steak.

Max is one of my favorite places in Rochester. A better steak you will not find.

High end, top notch quality! Food and service was amazing! My only complaint is this place is not easy to find, the strip plaza it’s in is very dark and there was not enough lights in the parking lot. The main entrance door is blacked out which gives the impression of a closed business.

The food was phenomenal. I had the scallops and was pleasantly surprised by how perfectly prepared they were. The rest of my party ordered filets and judging by their oohs and aahhs, seemed to also enjoy their dinner. Don’t let the location fool you. This is a real deal gem!

Sad to review like this but $200 is a lot of money to spend on an experience like we had tonight... Bartender was excellent and perfect.. Then we sat at our table... Very first thing? Offered "rationed" bread.. We then ordered our apps and entrees , apps arrived timely enough--Roasted Beet Salad and Shrimp Cocktail tasted exceptional! Entrees were another story altogether; mine arrived first but was way under salted and no one even asked how it was... then we waited and waited and waited for my husbands entree, his steak, which finally arrived--without his side, so then we waited another 5ish minutes at least for his frites which arrived unapologetically even later and soggy. No apologies, no explanation, for the wait. So we cut our losses, asked for the check, and left. Next time, if we decide to go back, we will be sure to sit at the bar where the service matches the price scale.

When I make the online reservation, I stated I wanted to be seated in the back of the restaurant. The front bar area can be noisy and cold. When we arrived, the hostess took us to the bar area. I took her I requested the back area and she stated there was nothing she could do. I noticed throughout the evening that there where open tables in the back area. Food and service was very good but I felt our seating requests should have been honored.

The food was phenomenal, as always. Although we had reservations, we had to wait close to 1 hour for our table (due to other customers lingering). The staff customer service was flawless. They continually kept us updated and bought us several drinks. Great service recovery!

Classic Steakhouse menu enhanced by some very elegant seafood options. Service is proper without being pretentious, the wine list offers some marquee choices along with some hidden gems.

One of the best meals we have ever had. The specials were so creative, we can't wait to go back and try more dishes.
