McCormick & Schmick's Harborside at the Marina - Portland
Lobster Mashed Potatoes
Entrée Caesar Salad
Pickled Green Beans
This was our family and friends Thanksgiving dinner. The food might have been good if it was hot or even warm. Everything was cold!
Was there for thanksgiving and was underwhelmed with the food and service.
Tough $60 rib eye
One meal missed and had to wait additional 20mins ...
Lost in the shuffle....
Not the worst but for 600 bucks we deserve a better experience.
Really efficient and pleasant staff.
The ventilation seemed to be quite good.
It got quite noisy. The music just added to the noise.
There is a great selection of seafood and cocktails, but no vegetarian entrees.
This restaurant scored “must return” points in our book. We had a great time: checking in and seating was fast and efficient, we had a GREAT VIEW upstairs, our waitperson Karen was simply wonderful, and the food was amazing. We ordered from the chef’s choice selection, and my son had the pre fixe Thanksgiving plate. Dessert was cleaned off the plates too. Our only comment would be the length of time the food came in, but it was probably due to the holiday crowd, since some of the tables had huge seating.
Ordered traditional Thanksgiving turkey dinner. Dry meat, not enough gravy, stuffing tasteless. Good salad, mashed potatoes, green beans, and sweet potato dish. I should have stuck to my original thought of ordering seafood. I know that would have been exceptional!
The service was lacking and the server was testy. She forgot sides and drinks and seemed put off when reminded. The two Turkey entree’s were ice cold. They were not sent back because no one checked up on us. At least not until a good 20” had passed. The shrimp were mostly a thick batter. And the Caesar salad was bland. Our party of eight all said they aren’t going back. The location and views are beautiful.
We had a mixed experience because the heat was not working, and the food was not the quality we expected. The calamari was overly crispy and the Parmesan cod was soggy.
Nice restaurant, smaller, larger bar area yet we do not drink. seemed to really "push" the alcohol. dinner was fine, requested a window table, nice view yet kind of cold because the cooling system runs along the bottom of the windows. OK experience, probably will not return
A very courteous and attentive waiter! Thank you, we will be back.
The Blue Cobia was very good, but the Lobster Bisque was very salty.
Seated early for our reservation, good service by waitress and food was not disappointing by any means.
Love coming here for special occasions or just a night out. Good and service are always excellent.
The overall atmosphere was great as usual. We asked to be seated away from the door at a nother open table. They stated the section was not open due to staffing issues and the food was not as good as I remember.
Excellent lunch in a scenic location. Very attentive service. A very enjoyable experience.
Took advantage of Happy Hour in the bar then had dinner in the dining room. Food & drinks were great. Our lounge server, Brian, was excellent. Our dining room server never introduced himself & was rather abrupt at the table. Our experience was excellent however & we will certainly return.
The food was quick and hot. The breading on the fish was light and tasty. The beer selection was adequate to make many choices. There were few people in the room so the waiter was very prompt and accommodating. It was a quiet and peaceful venue to have a lunch. I checked no on a recommendation because I have been burned too many times relying on them.
Perfect place for lunch before a play at the Keller
Service was definitely slow and a little inexperienced. We were throwing some big money around on wine and the ~21 year old server bro didn't know red wine from kool aid. You'd think if they sensed a table of wine dorks looking to go big was in the house they'd send over someone more knowledgeable over to help, or that he might ask for help.
The food is as always just ok, never great. It's been that way for 20 years so didn't expect any different.
Attractive venue, excellent service, and satisfyingly tasty food.
Always enjoy the atmosphere at Harborside. There is a variety of choices of beer and wine. Seafood is always delicious. Thank you for honoring veterans.
First time to the M&S Harborside. We enjoyed it very much.
It was really just OK.
The bisque was way too thick- inedible.
My fish should have been a delicate Parmesan crusted Fish and I can only liken it to burgerville’s fried fish (but with less fish in it!).
It was over cooked and flavorless.
My sons steak was served rare (ordered medium).
It took 25 minutes to get him a new one at which point all the rest of the table had finished.
The sad part was it was his special day and all he wanted was a nice steak.
If you only do 2 things- steak and seafood- for the love of God,
Please try and do them well.
There are about 200 ways to check a steak for its level of done ness.
It’s such a nice location. I hope they get it together but we will absolutely not go back.
We came here for the first time last night to celebrate our 6 year wedding anniversary. We were seated in a private area over looking the restaurant which was amazing. Our server Michael was awesome and hooked us up with a nice celebratory dessert. Literally every dish we ordered was so tasty and the overall experience was outstanding. We can’t wait to come eat here again! Thanks for making our day special.
A wonderful place to surprise my sister for her birthday. Great food and ambiance and wonderful service!
Food was not good. Service was great until I mentioned that my food wasn’t good. Nice setting, poor value.
As usual always excellent. Really enjoy dining here. Kudos to all!
Put in a vert tight table in the back. But otherwise good
This was our first outing since February 2020. My birthday called for us to take a chance, go in early and hope few diners were around. Also, this restaurant is, in a word, cavernous so it being my birthday and wanting a special meal, we figured we were overall safe. It was a terrific choice. Food was delicious and interesting; I had steak as my annual birthday present, and my husband had the fish called cobia --- tastefully prepared. The appetizer salads were generous, the bread to die for and I had dessert, creme broulee. Service was friendly, informative and timely. We will be back!
Great food, drinks, and service. Plates are easy to share or order on your own.
Great food and service. Seating in levels adds to privacy and views.
Enjoyed a glass of wine and light meal with a friend, very nice to be able to see the Willamette River from our table. We both enjoyed our wine and food—oysters and fish and chips. Had excellent and attentive service from Sean. We will be back!
Service was horrible. We were seated and waited 15 minutes for our server to come to our table. Then it took another 30 minutes to get our drinks. When the food finally arrived, my order was wrong and my girlfriend didn’t get her side dish. When the correct order came, a rib eye, it was one of the worst steaks I’ve ever had. Keep in mind, this was a $50 steak. And the waiter didn’t even come by and ask us how our food was.
I’ll never eat there again, which is sad, bc it uses to be one of my favorite places.
Service was great, under staffed due to COVID (guessing), so service was slow. Overall a nice evening.
Great host. Waiter not too involved. Food tasted ok but a bit overpriced for the way it tasted and the portions.
As always the food was delicious, the serving staff were friendly and extremely good. The atmosphere is very nice with the decor and the view. Being up on a high er level we did hear a bit to much vocal noise from other diners but not enough to put anyone off.
Kinda disappointing. I’ve been to this restaurant in Reston Virginia and it was excellent so I thought we’d try it here. This one has dated decor but on a nice day it might be worth it for a partial view of the river. But it was the food that was just sub par. Chowder came out Luke warm. Most of the meal tasted like it was packaged and frozen and reheated or more like fast food casual dining versus something more upstream. That’s basically it. I think I could have prepared a tastier meal myself. Pretty bland and greasy and my stomach didn’t feel great after. On the plus side, there’s a little boardwalk that has a nice ice cream store and that made our trip not a total loss. Wish o could be more positive.
Looks like the place was under staffed. There was one just waitress going around to get orders and one person delivering the orders. It took 30-35 mins to receive our order. We had to gulp it because we were on the clock.
