McCormick & Schmick's Seafood - Crystal City
The food was sub par and service was terrible. I am a regular patron of various M&S establishments, so I know the standard.
Good place to sit, relax and have a quiet dinner to yourself.
Plan to take family. It was fabulous! My only regret is that I didn't know that dessert was included in the Veteran's Day special so I feel we missed out.
This location is good, however for every single Veteran’s Day, they are constantly overbooked and cannot manage the amount of reservations, which when you make them they still cannot seat you at the time you requested.
There is nowhere near enough space for all of the people stuck waiting upwards of 30 minutes to 1 hour for their reservation. Opentable does deserve some of the blame due to allowing all of these reservations to be booked and not confirming with the restaurant that they can turn over tables in a timely manner for such a busy day.
Everything was great, from beginning to end. The food was delicious and the atmosphere was happy.
Great service and excellent food. The Parmesan crusted chicken is really good.
Thank you so much for our Veterans Weekend treat! There were four of us Veterans that were also celebrating my husbands birthday. The meals were delicious- thank you again for supporting and honoring our military veterans - we are so grateful.
Thank you for the wonderful Veterans Day meal. I meant a lot to me and my fellow service members.
Our waiter (Michael) was excellent -- attentive, observant and provide great service.
Great food and service! Look forward to visiting again! Thanks!!!
Appetizer and scallops entree were great. My wife had the steak. It was overcooked (ordered med rare and more like Med well). Did not ask for it to be redone since it would take too long.
Having more vegetarian options would make this a better place to take my wife
We did not wait long for a table and were promptly greeted by the waiter who took our orders for drinks and appetizers. He came back shortly to take our entree order but this was the problem. The wait to receive our food was very long, almost an hour or close I would say. We had a limited window so we had to get the check as we were finishing up our dinner
Great food and service - better than at least one other of same chain (Columbus Ohio)
For what we have paid for the same type of meal in the past this one was lackluster. I had the ribeye and it had way to much pepper as seasoning and my wife had the medallions and the presentation was also lackluster and the portion was not what we thought it should be for the price we paid. This was our first time at McCormick and Schmick’s and we will not be back.
Excellent seafood, with superb service and ambiance.
Was in town for the Marine Corps Marathon
Good food, good service.
The food overall was okay the side selection could be improved.
For example add an option for broccoli and baked potatoes
Had the fish taco and black bean soup special. The back bean soup was a paste of black beans. Almost like retried beans not a soup at all. It would have been great as a dip. Unfortunately the ‘crispy’ fish taco shells were soft and soggy. The blackened copies was good. The only redeeming item of my meal.
Excellent food although a bit on the salty side. Presentation was great, and the service was outstanding.
delicious food, but pretty expensive. love to stop here before going to a show at the synetic theater. wish the restaurant was kept slightly brighter in the evening but overall pleasant
Excellent Clam Chowder, mixed Seafood grill and filet top notch. Service by Milagras also first rate.
Great time with friends
Our server was very slow and in attitude, but when he did check in on us, had a great personality. Food was good, especially lunch prices.
Food was undercooked and took so long to remake all other diners had finished.
The food was mediocre and the service was not good. We were served the wrong drinks and the server was confused about what each of us ordered. In addition, the food that was served seemed overcooked. I wouldn't go back.
The food and service are always great. We are return customers. 😁
We had a 5:15p reservation, and when we were seated, the hostess handed us lunch menus. After reviewing it, and asking our waiter if there were other entree options available (since the primary portion of the menu was sandwiches), he got us the regular dinner menus. We ordered 2 different entrees, which had 'stuffed lump crab' in them, and there were no more than 2 small pieces of crab in either dish - almost completely all breading. Certainly not worth the $25-$30 per entree price we paid! Also ordered the 'signature' raspberry mule, which didn't even include raspberries! Very disappointing meal for McCormick & Schmick's. Won't be returning to that location.
Special occasion meeting wit hour son during his short visit to Washington D.C. for a business meting. The ambiance at McCormick & Schmick was the perfect location for this family get together.
The staff have been very nice especially Milagros. She was very patient with us despite our prolonged stay because we were reuniting with friends after 25 years.
Wonderful experience. Food was excellent, service was wonderful, great atmosphere, perfect location for an important business luncheon.
Nice place for a business lunch. I wish they had more sandwich choices at lunch time.
We arrived at 6:38 for a 6:45 reservation. Much to our surprise there was nobody at the door to greet us and the host phone was ringing non stop. I did make eye contact with a bartender but she didn’t acknowledge our arrival. About 10 minutes later a young man arrived. We had at that point decided to drive to the DC location but we weren’t able to cancel our Opentable reservation and make a new one at the other location.
The Host apologized and assured us we would have a great experience if we dined with them. We decided to stay and give it shot. We were seated in a nice quiet booth and our server quickly approached the table. She was very pleasant and offered us her menu favorites when my wife asked.
We both ordered perfect margaritas, which were great.
My wife ordered one of her suggestions and was very happy. The rest of the meal was fine nice and the Manager, Chanel was very nice and apologetic for our initial impression. She also checked back on us several times during the meal, which showed some real professionalism.
We ordered the mussels which tasted great but just 11 very tiny mussels didn’t wow us. The kitchen manager should spec a much larger bivalve. The grilled bread wasn’t really grilled but toasted, the downside was the bread was stale. The dish would have been better served with the warm sourdough bread and whipped butter we were greeted when we first sat down.
We then split the 10 greens salad which was good. My wife loved her stuffed salmon and I ordered the fish and chips which were perfect.
For dessert we split the Key Lime pie which was good but could have been a bit more sour. Chanel delivered our dessert and told us the treat was on her. Nice service recovery.
Overall I’d say the experience was good. Might return if in the neighborhood again.
Excellent venue. Had drinks at a very reasonable price and dinner that was excellent. The halibut was delicious. Service was perfect and contributed to a great evening with colleagues.
Great for business, team and senior level lunches and dinners.
Very good and great spot for business lunch. I would recommend to others.
moving on need experienced wait staff...wait until amazon arrives ha
