McCormick & Schmick's Seafood - Crystal City
Wonderful experience. Food was excellent, service was wonderful, great atmosphere, perfect location for an important business luncheon.
Nice place for a business lunch. I wish they had more sandwich choices at lunch time.
We arrived at 6:38 for a 6:45 reservation. Much to our surprise there was nobody at the door to greet us and the host phone was ringing non stop. I did make eye contact with a bartender but she didn’t acknowledge our arrival. About 10 minutes later a young man arrived. We had at that point decided to drive to the DC location but we weren’t able to cancel our Opentable reservation and make a new one at the other location.
The Host apologized and assured us we would have a great experience if we dined with them. We decided to stay and give it shot. We were seated in a nice quiet booth and our server quickly approached the table. She was very pleasant and offered us her menu favorites when my wife asked.
We both ordered perfect margaritas, which were great.
My wife ordered one of her suggestions and was very happy. The rest of the meal was fine nice and the Manager, Chanel was very nice and apologetic for our initial impression. She also checked back on us several times during the meal, which showed some real professionalism.
We ordered the mussels which tasted great but just 11 very tiny mussels didn’t wow us. The kitchen manager should spec a much larger bivalve. The grilled bread wasn’t really grilled but toasted, the downside was the bread was stale. The dish would have been better served with the warm sourdough bread and whipped butter we were greeted when we first sat down.
We then split the 10 greens salad which was good. My wife loved her stuffed salmon and I ordered the fish and chips which were perfect.
For dessert we split the Key Lime pie which was good but could have been a bit more sour. Chanel delivered our dessert and told us the treat was on her. Nice service recovery.
Overall I’d say the experience was good. Might return if in the neighborhood again.
Excellent venue. Had drinks at a very reasonable price and dinner that was excellent. The halibut was delicious. Service was perfect and contributed to a great evening with colleagues.
Great for business, team and senior level lunches and dinners.
Very good and great spot for business lunch. I would recommend to others.
moving on need experienced wait staff...wait until amazon arrives ha
Too may children being loud. Why are there infants and kids at the restaurant? Ruined the atmosphere.
DJ was absolutely Amazing so was the food!🥰
The host needed some training, salads were ordered and bread service was not offered. The food was acceptable. This restaurant did not meet my expectations as my experience with this restaurant in my home city is a 5 star.
Good as usual
Fantastic from beginning to end!! Food was delicious and our server was great!!! She was friendly, really knowledgeable, and attentive without being over the top. This place never disappoints!!
While we liked everything we ordered (hummus, shrimp avocado toast, quesadilla, Smith Island cake and white chocolate mousse), the service was extremely slow from start to finish. They were also very stingy on the pita chips with the big mound of hummus. They gave us 4 pita chips. When I asked for more, they gave us 3 pieces. These are pita chips! Why so stingy over them? When it came time to pay, their machine was down, so they charged me for items that should have been covered with my Landry’s Select Card. I pointed that out and they went back and took another 25 minutes to finally clear my bill. This is the third time I’ve been to this particular McCormick & Schmick’s. Each and every time, service was slow. The food is great but always pack a lot of time and patience
Service was very slow on Friday. Ordered the restaurant week menu and it took almost an hour and a half to get the food.
I have had lunch at this McCormick & Schmick's a few times over the past 5 months. Generally the food and service are good. But last week the server seemed to ignore our table, even though we tried to get his attention more than once. It took about a half hour after we ordered to get our food. The fact that a different server brought it to us raised my suspicion that someone forgot about us completely. That suspicion was confirmed when I saw that my salmon was seriously overcooked, while the potatoes were more tepid than hot. I would have raised an issue with the manager. But unfortunately, the delay in getting my food made it impossible to do so without causing me to be late for a meeting (one that I had left plenty of time for when I booked the table).
Took my son for restaurant for the first time and he loved everything about it
Food was excellent but service slow. I was one of two in the dining area, arriving at 11:30 am. The appetizer took about 20 minutes, the entree another 20 minutes and the dessert 20 minutes, after finishing each course. The staff kept apologizing for the dessert for taking so long. I was there for 1 hour and 40 minutes. Other guests arriving after me, ate and left and I was still waiting.
Rib Eye with Blue Cheese topping is excellent choice
Service is great!
Unfortunately all of our food was cold. The only thing that was hot was the bread. I told the waiter our food was cold but did nothing. The waiter never asked if we wanted another glass of wine.
Also unfortunately I got very sick Saturday evening, I believe it was the cold mushrooms.
Stuffed salmon is great.
The best part of the experience was the service. Milagros was our server, and she was awesome. Very attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable.
Food was ok. Not worth the price. Child’s chicken tenders were hard, fried shrimp were good and golden brown, shrimp pasta wasn’t worth the price. The shrimp were super small. Server was ok, he seemed like he didn’t want to be there. No smile no eye contact. I haven’t been to M&S since I moved up here in 2016 and I remember why now. We won’t be back.
Great hostess, great waiter.
Great crab cake.
Great experience. Great service. No complaints.
Nightmare experience for dinner. Avoid avoid avoid until they figure out front of house and how to expedite food out of the kitchen in a somewhat normal fashion. Rude front desk (even though we had a reservation), slow wait staff (even though when we arrived the dining room was mostly empty), 45 minutes from sit down to appetizers arriving (even though we ordered apps and heavy salads for a casual dinner). It was a rough night for sure.
Excellent food and service.
Excellent food and service, and great location. A definite trip there again!
Terrible experience. Completely ignored by servers and bartenders for over 30 minutes. Multiple people waited for seats, even those with reservations, while an entire section of the restaurant was empty with multiple tables available. I watched two other people sitting at the bar make a reservation at Ruth's Chris while sitting there and left because they were so tired of waiting to be served. The dirty glasses from those sitting at the bar prior to us remained in front of us the whole time we were there. The food was good but they didn't get my order right even though I asked twice for it to be fixed. The one highlight of the evening was the Hostess, who was delightful and amazing despite how busy and clearly understaffed the restaurant was. The manager was very nice and apologetic and said they were very understaffed. She thankfully refunded my money, even though I did not ask for that, which was certainly appreciated.
Great food and service!
I went a healthy route and had the Tomato-based crab soup and the Garden Salad with Salmon. Both were excellent and I debated ordering a second to satisfy my hunger. Instead, I went with the Raspberry sorbet and that was a great way to and the dinner.
The food was excellent. Kudos to the chef. McCormick & Schmick's is such a great find in this part of the town. It is close to the airport. so if you are picking up a friend or a business partner, this might be a good place to impress them with a good dining experience in the Beltway.
Everything but the food was good. Amazing service, decent ambiance but poor quality food. Overcooked scallops, undercooked fish, for the price definitely not what was expected
The service and the food was very good! A little pricey. My next visit will be during their happy hour.
Calamari was over cooked. We let the waiter know as it was half eaten. He should have offered to comp it instead he tried to get us to join the frequent dining club thing or whatever they were promoting. Lobster Cobb and wedge salads were good.
I was informed by separate email from Open Table that I was not eligible for points. Can you tell me why? If I did something incorrectly, I would like to know, so in the future I will receive points. Our party of six did however, thoroughly enjoy their dinner at McCormick & Schimick's Seafood. I would definitely recommend them and will return the next time we visit Crystal City.
Had lunch meeting, food was delivered quickly, was tasty and fresh and service was friendly and professional!
Friendly staff and attentive. My medium rare bone in ribeye was prepared perfectly. Although the center cut ribeye was not so tasty. It was as prepare correctly so it may have been the meat itself that was not so tasty. Various fish dishes were good.
Fairly empty but seated in direct line of the back door.
Forgot an appetizer.
Food above average.
The waiter and staff really didn’t help us enjoy our wedding anniversary. They didn’t care.
the price was high. the food was mediocre:
-the Chilean seabass had the consistency of jello which was offputting, and the portion size was small. I wish I ordered something else. It's not a dish you should be proud of.
-My grandson's new York strip was just okay. He said he wished we had saved the money and cooked steaks at home because our steaks are way better.
-My wife and grandson both commented that the ceasar salad dressing tasted like bottled dressing. just ok.
