McMenamins Elks Temple

We were there celebrating my husband’s birthday. He loves McMenamins so we had to try out all of the bars and restaurants that were open. Pleasantly surprised with the food which has tended to be the same at all of their establishments. Still took a while to get the food considering how quiet it was.

Sat in the pub, with great view of the harbor. Ate wings, Caesar salad, burger. All good.

We had a lovely experience in the Pub. Food and service was great. Highly recommend the crab and shrimp roll and the seared ahi steak. Leave room for the whisky bread pudding, it’s amazing send has quite the kick!

As always, the new Elks Temple delivers! Consistently good food, service and an ambience that’s hard to beat. Recommended!

We have enjoyed several of the McMenamins hotels and restaurants in other locations and were happy when McMenamins Elks Temple opened in our area. It did not disappoint!
The menu is not extensive but the food is good. The staff at this location was extra friendly and helpful.

Only reason for the 4 stars is my burger bread was not toasted!! LOL still an amazing burger with a good beer. Boomtown DIPA was tasty! Need to bring my Growlr next time.

Great experience as per usual

Mommy, this is just awesome” when we get in. Beautiful decor, nice ambiance, very good food although a little wait for the food. Good value too and friendly staff.

I loved the decor and the ambiance that the building had: quick service and friendly servers. Awesome location, and the lace had a really cool vibe to it. The food was good, and the beers are tasty.

Eilesh was an energetic, upbeat and proficient server, making our pandemic date night more memorable

The food was delicious and the drinks hit the spot!! We shared biscuits and gravy (house made) yum, loaded hashbrowns, sausage and Bloody Mary's with house made Mary mix. Our server, Jason was amazing!! We never had to ask for anything. He even brought us a house made hot sauce to try just because he the we'd like it. We loved everything and will definitely be back!

Fun night out during Covid restrictions. Making the reservation was perfect to getting in without waiting.

Service was excellent. The room was nice and clean. Had a great water view. The art was amazing and everyone of the staff was super friendly and helpful dinner and breakfast was amazing the only part I didn’t like was leaving so thank you.

Breakfast before checking out of the hotel was excellent. The food was well prepared and the portions were good. The deconstructed lox and bagel was a masterpiece. A nice view over the Spanish Steps towards the water, with sun coming through the window, made everything seem even better.

Breathtaking eminence. Initially walking in and seeing the chandeliers, incredible restoration and brilliantly festooned artwork on every wall, leaves one in a state of awe. The food though simple was well cooked, seasoned and plated with a friendly and truly tacoma staff. The cocktails were particularly delicious and views from the restaurant truly show off the beauty of the northwest. When finished with ones meal you can take your beverage and wonder around this uniquely renovated part of Tacoma history. Multiple bars, fun house like hallways and historical representations of the history of the Elks Temple building. Showing her in the hay day nearly a century ago, to the dilapidated state she fell into, all the way to the work of art McMenamins had brilliantly revived her too. From business meals, to a romantic impressive night out, to the hosting of a wedding or large event I can’t imagine anything this location couldn’t be an ideal option for. Thank you for bring back one of the most beautiful pieces of Tacoma’s bright and elaborate history.

Great to be able to dine in again. All 4 people in our group have been fully vaccinated so it was great to have a meal and visit without masks and feel safe!

Was great time. Good food and great wait staff , enjoyed the stay. Best place to be close to home when we couldn’t stay in our house because of construction

Great food, superb atmosphere, service was a tad slow, but the staff was still attentive and it was quite busy. I expect they're still trying to get back in the swing of things post-pandemic closure.

It's a hidden world inside a world. Getting in does not necessarily mean you know your way around. Beware the pitfalls but enjoy the stair cases that will lead you on adventure.

Always a relaxed and cozy atmosphere with great service, and love the food, especially the green goddess Benedict!!

We had a great seat with a view in a quiet location of the restaurant, for our anniversary celebration- that was perfect. Our waiter took time to go over everything with us.

St. Patrick’s Day

Kind of bummed that we made a reservation for four and got crammed into a small bar booth. Service was typical "Portland slow" - that is, slow night, low traffic, kitchen takes forever regardless, then gets order out slowly. Service was a new level of wooden.

Great food and amazing service!! The waiter was super friendly and helpful.

As with all McMenamins, you get great service and a pleasant atmosphere. Our server was very helpful and had some great suggestions for us. We traveled from out of state and are always surprised at how consistent MeMenamins are between locations.

Perfect place to catch up w a friend! Great view! Delicious salad! Try the mule! Very refreshing! Our server was attentive yet not over the top to check in. The building is incredible! If you haven’t been, you must go!

Lots of different ways to dine at the Elks Lodge. I recommend the 1st Floor Bar "The Hangout" has a great atmosphere!

Service is terrible here! If you have all the time in the world then go!

I’ve eaten here twice in the past month. Great atmosphere. Super kind staff. Following all quarantine protocols from what I can tell. Creative drink menu. The only thing I would say is the seasoning is lacking. The desserts were amazing though! Try the banana bread pudding.

Everyone liked what they ordered and our server was great!

The food here is fantastic, the inside of the building is so amazing and fun to look at. This is one of my all time favorite places to eat!
