It is always a pleasure to dine here as the menu is varied and the staff cordial and professional.
Good food, decent wine list, seasonal menu. Excellent service.
As always, we had an excellent time at Mendon 64. The food was fresh and the flavors on point. I had the arugula pesto chicken pasta special and you can tell everything is made from scratch and with the best ingredients. Our service was attentive as always. Can’t wait to return!
We attended for a birthday celebration. Everyone chose a different main course and we all enjoyed them very much. Nice place for a celebration!
We enjoyed the cozy atmosphere on a cold winter evening, the lovely harp and flute music (live), and a deliciously prepared meal.
Thank you Hope for your nice review! We will pass your comments on to the musicians and rest of the Mendon 64 team.
Went for Valentines Dinner. Liked the Ambiance. Unfortunately, the two of us had the Price Fix menu which included a "special" beef Wellington. It was far from special. The meet was well done and rubbery, certainly not a prime cut of tenderloin. There was a raspberry Cake for desert that was served partially frozen with frozen Raspberries. While the lead server was pleasant, the service was very choppy. Soups served with out soup spoons, Desert served with no utensils. Had to ask for more water. When first told and shown the overcooked meat, the server said they would take off two cocktails(which were good) the bill from when we first arrived. We ordered a fine cabernet and asked to decant while we enjoyed our cocktail. The server poured the wine into the decanter in record speed and let the sediment pour from the bottle into inside the neck of the decanter. When the lead hostess asked how everything was, we said very disappointing. And we explained the above with some evidence. Regarding the $110.00 bottle of wine, we were told that one of the servers was just filling in as she regularly is a waitress at a sports bar. Regarding the food, the hostess heard others had complained about the beef wellington. And she wanted to hurry back to the kitchen and hopefully avoid any other issues with the desert.
She offered to buy us a round, however, the experience made us just want to leave. Left a full tip. However, there was NO customer copy. Basics.
Knowing how to decant and serve wine is no more that 15 minute lesson with an occasional 5 minute follow up. If you are going to serve fine wine, serve it with respect and care..
Soup spoons and desert forks are another fundamental.
The ambiance is very nice and I hope the establishment succeeds as it has great potential, if they get back to basics. I am not sure the beef wellington should be served as it is a challenging meal that requires a great deal of patience and control.
Hi Sparky, Thank you for your well thought out review and giving us specific points to bring back to the staff for training and improvement. We apologize that your experience did not meet your expectations. As the server who poured your wine, I am truly embarrassed that I rushed through such an important part of your dining experience. It is something I have learned from and will always consider in the future. Thank you
we went for Valentines and while it was a little pricey it was expected for a holiday and we will go back as food and service were great
We love coming to Mendon 64. We feel so comfortable and the staff is very friendly and pleasant. Food is delicious and the service is great. Highly recommend this restaurant.
Hi Rachel, Thank you for the great review and recommendation! We look forward to seeing you again soon.
Caring service and delicious food in a pleasant "vintage house" setting. We will definitely return!
Thank you for your great review! We look forward to seeing you again soon
First time going to Mendon 64, and it did not disappoint. It was a great experience. The staff was very friendly and attentive and the food was absolutely delicious. Nice ambience in a beautifully restored older building. Looking forward to going again and sitting outside. I highly recommend Mendon 64!!
Food and service was great. A bit pricey but nice for a special occasion.
Dinner on a Saturday evening. It was really quite- probably because playoff football was on. Service and atmosphere was great. Food was good but to be honest neither of us got anything all that fancy. My burger was really good. The wife said the chicken sandwich had a lot of flavor but the chicken portion was a little disappointing.
Probably will try again sometime in future- maybe when weather clears and can enjoy the deck.
Very nice meal and good service. Glad we went early, as it got loud as it filled up.
First visit- New Year’s Eve. Loved it- we could hear each other for normal conversation 🙂! Fantastic. Service was great the entire evening. We were a group of ages 25 to 90 so not easy to please everyone... everyone left very happy with the choice to celebrate here.
Nice local place!
They have not mastered technology so when you show they don’t register that you’re there- they cancel your reservation rather than giving you credit so no points for booking through the app ( 2/15/2020)
They put special menus on not always announced on their website and don’t have everything on the online posted menu available.
The cocktails are terrible mostly ice and poorly mixed.
The folks in the kitchen are talented and food though petite in portion is quite well done.
Service is slow inattentive and comes across as rehearsed and insincere repetition of phrases at every table.
It not worth driving to and you definitely would do better driving further if you are near by.
Two visits and no more.
This was our first time trying Mendon 64, and we weren't disappointed at all. Everything from the moment we walked in was wonderful. The staff as a whole were outstanding and the food was just as great! Will most definitely be back again soon!
We enjoyed our meal. Great atmosphere! Great service!
found the first time experience very good in all aspects> First the pleasant atmosphere, followed by the courteous welcome set the tone for the evening. The service staff was professionL and well trained. Of course the main event, the food, we found to be excellent both in the choices and the quality. We have dined in the best restaurants in New York City,New Orleans and even Mauia Hi. and Mendon 64 is certainly one of the best restaurants in this area!
Great place for a long relaxing meal. From appetizer to dessert, everything great.
Pleasant, comfortable place with good food. Service is generally good.
Food was excellent. Hillary welcomed us at the door and made us feel right at home. Our waitress (Shilo), was equally as friendly and attentive. We are brand new to the neighborhood and this was a great experience to start us off.
I only gave less than 5 stars on Overall and Value because I felt the entrees were overpriced for what was received. I guess the cost is for the ambience.
Amazing evening! The food and ambience was wonderful!
Very nice restaurant. Service was excellent.
We had dinner with friends we had not seen in some time. One in the group required a gluten free menu and happily there were MANY choices for him. The wine was delish and the salads and entrees were yummy. The hot foods were hot not lukewarm. Our server was awesome; friendly and knowledgeable. It was a lovely evening!
Mendon 64 just missed the mark of being excellent. The food that we had (lamb and pork) was very good, but the item on the menu that I wanted was already gone at 7:00. Also our food was quite delayed getting to us. And, some of the delicata squash was burned on one side.
We had a wonderful meal and a wonderful experience at Mendon 64. Our server. Shilo (sp?) was simply outstanding. Great sense of humor and very engaging while providing just the right amount of service. The food was outstanding. The Kurabota Pork Chop was the best ever and the Salmon was excellent and presented in a very unique and appetizing manner. All 4 of us agreed that we have to return for another terrific evening very soon.
Wednesday night oysters were delicious and a great value. My tacos and salad were uninspired and my husband did not think the lamb tasted like lamb. We enjoyed the evening but thought the food was a bit ordinary.
Delicious cocktails, dinner and dessert. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit. We’ Be back again.
The food was excellent! Charming and cozy setting.
Great location, service was outstanding, food was fabulous. Will return. Also had excellent gluten free options.
Excellent place for fine dining. Nice patios, well informed and experienced servers. Bread and desserts are unique, due to having an in house pastry chef.
This is an excellent restaurant with outstanding food at reasonable prices considering the high quality of the offerings. The owners are friendly and courteous, the service is spot on, and they easily attended a very Large party I had of 13 people. It has my highest recommendation
Service was excellent. Our food was delicious! I would definately return and share my experience with friends. Desserts were yummy as well. It was a very relaxed atmosphere!
Making reservations on line is so convienient and easy. So glad it is a go to restaruant that is close to home!
Group of seven. Mostly great dinners. Pasta special was disappointing. Steak filets were great. Server Shiloh was very very good. Extras like bread were disappointing. Great risotto. Overall a good but mixed experience.
They could turn down the lighting for a little more ambience very bright
Great food and made us feel very welcome. We have dietary restrictions and it was all handled with a smile and grace. Great experience!
Food was outstanding. There were several large parties so the restaurant was very noisy. We love sitting outside on the patio but it had just rained.
