Was closed. Ourselves and another party trying to get in. I understand the challenges restaurants are under, but it shouldn’t be on Open Table taking bookings. Open Table also won’t let you cancel or book anywhere else once you get to Mercadito and realize they are locked up - but it’s Chicago rules to reserve ahead.

Drinks are so worth it. Pretty expensive but again drinks are amazing! Food is ehh

Great food! The shrimp tacos and guacamole were amazing.

The food was good but not filling. We ordered tacos and there were only 4 small tacos. We had to get food somewhere else. The drinks were good as well. But, the service was awful! We were ignored by our waiter the entire night (the restaurant was not even busy) and it made the experience unbearable.

I was really grateful, and surprised, to find the option of tacos eaten with Bibb lettuce instead of tortillas. I avoid gluten and minimize corn in my diet.

The best tacos in the city, all food is made in house, including the corn tortillas. Highly reccomend the chicken tacos, Misty Sleeve Margarita, Queso Fundido, Chile De Arbol Salsa.

Food was subpar my meat on my carnitas tacos was dry....margarita was very tasty and refreshing... the elote corn seemed liked it was served out the can a lot of liquid was in the bowl and not much corn

Food was very subpar. We had to send back shrimp tacos. Very disappointing on all fronts (waiter was very understanding though) as we had both been there before with decent results.

Mercadito has been one of our favorites and we were excited to return for the first time since COVID started. Unfortunately, it turned out to be an uncomfortable experience as tables were still too close together. We considered leaving and, in retrospect, wish we had. Instead, we rushed through dinner so that we could leave. The food was good, as usual. We'll likely wait until the COVID situation is much better before returning.

It was our anniversary and we were visiting from out of town. Our server was very dismissive and inattentive. He busted every single table next to ours except us multiple times. By the time he came to us, we wanted to place an order for everything since we knew our apps, drinks and meals. After we gave our drinks our server walked away. We ended up finishing out drinks, leaving and going to Nonnina down the street - where we had absolutely amazing service. This was our only bad experience in Chicago. I hope this is not the norm for this restaurant.

I feel they should publicize the fact there is a covid surcharge! Brought us extra salsa ( about a shot glass full) that we didn’t ask for and charged us for it They they are taking your plates before your even done or at least ask before you pick up my plate. Shrimp appetizer was delicious!!

Great Tacos, the chicken tacos are unique, flavorful and moist...not the oh so typical dry ones. Drinks were good too!

Got some flautas and they were good, some tacos and they were really good, overall food was really good and tasty, but we ordered a guacamole with mango that had been in the fridge maybe forever because of the color of the guac, that wasn’t that good as it didn’t look fresh at all.

Service was a 3, they were not that busy and the waiter just attended us at the beginning and never checked in the table until the very end, we were looking for someone to order more good around the middle of the dinner and he wasn’t around, at the end they took forever to get my check, took forever too to get it paid because they never picked my credit card from the table and I ended leaving cash instead.

Didn’t leave me excited about coming back but at least good was good, I wish service would’ve been different.

The restaurant is very nice as far as ambiance. Drinks were good, tacos good. Beans & rice were bland. I felt like the waitress was stretched as we had to wait awhile to order, and it also took awhile to receive a second round of drinks. We had to speak with the manager & he did give us that round of drinks for free.

This was my first time dining here. Overall nice establishment, but overpriced, and not too many options to choose from. Also, I ran into a situation where the waiter overcharged my credit card. I spoke to the manager, but she was hesitant about returning the payment which I didn't like, so I called my bank to dispute the transaction.

Mercadito never misses to amaze me with their flavors. Always great!

It was fun as usual. Omar our server was super.
