Merriment Social

First time at MS with friends and as many during COVID, it had been a while since a night out. Merriment did not disappoint and lived up to all the reviews and recommendations. From well poured drinks to start to decadent dessert finish, each part was well played by MS staff. Appetizers of chick magnets and brussel sprouts were a delicious start. I had heard the merriment burger was amazing and it lived up to reputation. The Swayze Burger melted in your mouth like the clay in Patrick Swayze's hands in the movie Ghost...we finished with PB&J shots and pecan pie.....tremendous finish to a really great night......thx Merriment....I'll see you soon!!!

We like the atmosphere and the sound level at Merriment Social. Awesome burger and French dip sandwiches.

Merriment is always a solid brunch spot. We tried the potstickers for the first time; those were a must-have. Chilaquiles and breakfast sandwich were both fantastic. The bloody with jalapeno vodka was a good upgrade-- spicy without burning your tongue off. Not our first visit, definitely won't be the last!

Tasty food and great service

Had our first date out since March and we picked the perfect spot. Amazing cocktails with all the detail, fast service, all staff wore masks and plenty of space outdoors at our patio table.

A 5% "Covid service fee" is added onto your bill. There's no reference as to why you are being charged this fee (What does it go towards)? I don't mind donating to a cause...but don't put that on my bill without my knowledge.

We had a great evening. Social distancing and masks were evident. The service was spectacular. Our server was extremely pleasant and attentive. Actually, he provided the best service I can remember in a casual or upscale restaurant. Our only complaint is the price of the food in this very casual restaurant. Our meal was good but some of the prices seemed over the top for what it was. For example, one of us had the fried chicken “dinner” for $23. The chicken came with two delicious biscuits but that was it. Nothing else. No potatoes, or slaw - or even a veggie. A few menu items could have been ordered a la cart as a side but that would have added another $12-$13 to the price of the meal. We loved the environment but it probably won’t be a regular place for a casual meal.

We had dinner last night at Merriment. We are not from Milwaukee so we were not aware of the mask ordinance. The host told us very rudely that we need to have masks on or else the restaurant will be fined $500 and he is not going to be responsible for that. Rather than "we require masks unless you are eating or drinking did you bring them with you? If not, we can supply you with one." We went outside to discuss who would go back to the car to get our masks when he walked by and practically threw them at us. Then, seated us next to a dumpster even though there were three other open tables for two. Needless to say we were very close to walking out the door. Pros we experienced were ambiance. Nice patio, socially distanced and inside had a fun vibe going on. We ordered the brussel sprout appetizer and they were delicious and a large portion to feed up to four people. We order a craft cocktail which was also wonderful. I had the fish tacos and my husband had one of their specialty burgers. The fish tacos were disappointed. Fried fish, too much sauce, bland mushy rice and the best part was the beans but a tiny portion was served. The burger and fries were excellent. Our waiter was so so. He left our empty glasses sit for 15 minutes and placed dirty glasses from another table on our table and left them there. Overall, I was not overly impressed. I would go back for drinks and an appetizer but not dinner.

Great food and service!

My wife and I were very impressed with Merriment Social (enough that we went back and had brunch the next morning there as well!!!) My wife had the fried chicken and loved it, I had the Swayze burger and loved it as well. Very happy with the food, staff and the patio was very nice to sit at as well.

Highly recommended!!!!

Perfect place for evening meal or just a drink at the bar. Great venue, great service, great food. We take all of our out of town friends and they rave about the place. My son lives in Brooklyn and Merriment Social is his first stop when he comes to visit. Love the place.

Awesome every time!!

We were there for a little birthday celebration. Just us girls. The waiter was very accommodating and did a great job with all of our special requests. The drinks were well made and the food was delicious. Perfect for the first day of daylight savings time.

Great service - had a lot of fun with our waiter who made us feel comfortable and at home and made sure we enjoyed our first time at Merriment. The Fried chicken was very good, Brussels sprouts were good but not quite worth the price. Their house gin and tonic recipe was very refreshing.

Merriment Social is a fun restaurant offering fresh, seasonal, and unique food. The food tastes great and the atmosphere modern relaxing creating a great environment for gatherings or dates.

I had the fried chicken and biscuits. Possibly, the best fried chicken and biscuit place I’ve ever had. Amazing!

My legs caught a breeze the whole time. It's very expensive food, they should be able to add a heater or two. 🤔
Food was amazing, if you haven't been here you need to check this place out. don't sit in front if you have a choice.

We each had the Merriment burger, and they was awesome. Good old fashioneds, the cheese curds were great, a very nice evening.

We have been here 4 times. The first time we liked our potstickers, burger, and shake. The second time we came for brunch, we didn't like the bloodys, the chicken and waffles were over priced. The 3rd time we ordered a burger and we felt it wasn't as good as the first time and very pricey. This last time we came for brunch shared the monkey bread, it was hard. I can make better at home with a can of biscuits. The only thing we liked was the whiskey peanut butter drink, delicious!! We will not be back, to many other restaurants in the city that do it right for the money.

Merriment social is one of the best restaurants in Milwaukee. Their chefs are so talented, food is incredible, trust me your stomach will be happy. The staff is friendly and on top of it. Not to mention they have a fantastic beer and cocktail menu! Always a great time at Merriment!

Ordered bottomless for brunch, they neglected to tell us that last call was at 12:30pm because they needed to close for a private event. Our reservation was for 11:30am. We would have never ordered bottomless if we were going to be asked to leave after 3 mimosas. It was a waste. Not sure that I’ll be back.

All went wonderful! I definitely recommend the brussel sprouts! Our server was friendly, drinks were yummy and food was great. We enjoyed sitting upstairs in the loft area.

Delicious and a fun place to dine. It was a busy night, but we were seated on the second floor which helped keep the noise level a bit lower. Fried chicken is amazing!

Went for brunch after a big holiday party and was the perfect spot. Food was great, service was good, wasn’t too busy, only had the packers on 1 tv but we were able to see it so that was all that mattered! Perfect start to our Sunday funday.
