Mizu Steakhouse - Covington
shrimp tempura roll w/ unagi, avocado, masago & unagi sauce on top
Great food and really great waitress as well.
We went for our anniversary and wanted to sit at the hibachi for the show but they offered no way to do that and social distance and were not requiring people to wear masks once seated or requiring proof of vaccination. We moved to a private table which made us much more comfortable but defeated the purpose of why we came and at that point you’re just in a nice restaurant full of people yelling and screaming… could have just gone to a sports bar for that. We were very disappointed. In the middle of a pandemic I’m not sure why they were cramming the tables so full when there was defiantly enough room to spread people out. We probably should have just left.
WAS ENTERTAINING CHEF WE HAD BUT A BIT OVERPRICED BUT FUN
It is a little spending but the food was good. We went there a couple of years ago and the chef did the exact same routine.
It was amazing. I have never had a bad meal or a bad experience here everyone is super helpful and super nice
The chef was very entertaining. Food excellent. Short staffed, but worth the wait. Please be patient.
Last minute, decided to dine out…
Very nice! Our 3rd visit… always been very pleased!
The restaurant appears overrun and in some areas, dirty -- the front lobby has a beat up host stand shoved in a corner (apparent it is not used) and the floor was sticky. The dinner area is definitely showing its age and again, the floor and chairs were sticky. The food was just okay, way overpriced for the quality you get (our total bill with the included gratuity was $200, for 2 adults and 2 kiddos, 5 years old and under). The chef was good, the waitress was okay -- only came by once after our order was taken, to see if we needed anything. Also felt rushed -- the chef had just placed the last of our food on our plates and was cleaning up the grill, when the waitress dropped off the bill. The kids thought it was cool, but for $200, there are higher quality steakhouses in our area with outstanding service and cleaner environments (especially in these pandemic times) that I'd rather put that $200 towards.
Took quite awhile to be greeted once we were sat but overall everything was perfect!
Great service and atmosphere. The food was incredible. Only drawback is expect to pay a lot.
The only thing we didn't like was how long it took to just get water. And take our order.
Chef and dinner was great. The service was under staffed and slow. Restaurant looked run down and was dirty. Uneven tile floors so all our chairs rocked back and forth bad design. Expected a better experience. Not worth the price. Feel sorry for the chefs.
Bday dinner for a 10yr old. Hostess wished him a happy bday but nothing else special happened during the meal. No salad prior to hibachi being cooked, disappointed, we were not told. Food good, always good. Cook entertaining and funny. We go here for special occasions as it’s pricey! Seated on time for reservation, sat with another group of three but spaced out. Tables not being filled full capacity. We like this aspect.
Went in for an lunch date. But the order was rushed and burnt veggies/eggs were too much. Normal go to the Mizus in Tukwila and was hoping for the same service but not quite there
food was great. I had the calamari and it was sooo tender
No sushi on Sundays and Mondays was a disappointing surprise, but food otherwise was quite good. Friendly service.
Awesome customer service and environment, the whole family had fun and we were all really full while still bringing home leftovers.
Great service. Loved the humor of the chef. Family really had a great time. Delicious food!
This place is going downhill fast. My husband and I made a reservation last night for 7pm. We arrived promptly at 7. We waited at the front as staff passed us by but did not acknowledge us. Literally after waiting 10 minutes to even be greeted or sat, I popped my head around the corner and made eye contact with the bartender and waved at a server. Again no one came! Finally I went around and asked where the hostess is. A man came back a few minutes later with an iPad and said “oh are you the party of two? You won’t be able to eat until 7:45 because we have a 12 top and another party coming in and you’ll have to wait to be sat with them.” What a nice way of saying, “We don’t care about you or your business and reservations don’t matter to us at all. Period.” After waiting 13 minutes to be acknowledged, then our awesome news, we were less than thrilled. He then just stared at me like “ so whatcha wanna do?” I asked if we could sit somewhere and drink while we waited and he agreed that was ok for us to do. Oh how nice. These weren’t huge problems but the icing on the cake was they brought the chef out then the table wasn’t hot enough so we had to wait even longer. On top that their prices have SKYROCKETED!!!! AND they add 18% gratuity on all checks regardless of the number of people in your party. It was $225 for my husband and I for chicken/shrimp and steak/chicken and two drinks each. For those prices I expect outstanding service and food and we got neither. They also don’t serve their noodles anymore I guess because we didn’t get them. So not only do you get less, you get to pay more! It’s only a matter of time before this place goes poof. This was definitely our last time going here.
Delicious and loved being able to customize our dinners!
Good food, waited over an hour for food after making a reservation
Love Mizu’s but they need new chairs for the customers
Celebrate my son’s birthday
Our chef was fantastic. He was fun and attentive to my need for yum yum sauce. :D The food was delicious and the drinks were perfect.
*I am wondering why they continue to change the cooking menu. They used to use sesame seeds and lemon to cook with which gave it flavor along with some oils. Dinner was bland and wasn't super excited about that. They also now have stopped doing bean sprouts so I am curious about that as well. Since the last time we came in the cooking has changed a lot and it wasn't great.
Everything was great!! The customer services was on point and the food was absolutely delicious. Our chef was hilarious and entertaining. Can't wait to go back!!!
Cook was a lot of fun and the food was delish. However, the server was rude, short, not friendly and after the initial greeting she didn’t wait on us at all. I had to drink my husband and son’s water before she got us water….and that’s because we asked for more water, but by the time she got it to us, we were already done with our meal and ready to leave. The automatic gratuity of 18% is unfair when a server isn’t providing good customer service nor doing their job.
We love Mizu’s…
Food was good but a bit in the small side for the price.
Great place to go for entertainment, atmosphere and food. Mondays and Tuesdays are normally really quiet and easy to make a reservation.
The restaurant was ok.The experience and the show is what you go for. My kids had a blast. The Staff was not very healthful for first time customers. So read the menu before hand. The chairs were very flimsy so be careful.
Mother’s Day dinner.
Fun hibachi for the fam
We celebrated a birthday the chef was amazing but the service was horrible not asked for refills or empty bowls etc picked up but they add a 18% tip regardless
No sushi on the weekends... wish this was posted somewhere before I confirmed my reservation
We loved the food and the entertainment!! Pricing a little high, would love to come more often, prices make it difficult.
Best steak in town. Melts in your mouth definitely will go again.
Delicious food, great place to eat and have fun!!!
Overall, very pleased with our experience. The food was delicious. The show was fun and engaging. We were able to watch him with other groups and I liked that he did change it based on his table (we had a young child in ours).
Because we went during COVID times, they had markings on the ground for people to social distance. They did put groups under 4 together which was a little concerning. But since we were a group of 5, we had a station to ourselves.
Overall, it was a positive experience. I do wish they cleaned the ground and chairs a little better but other than that, it was fine.
