Mizu Steakhouse in Covington, WA serves creative Japanese fare. Its welcoming setting features hibachi chefs that are eager to show off their cooking skills right at the table.     Wasn't impressed, especially for the cost. Our chef hardly said a word and overcooked our food. I told the chef and waitress it was my sons birthday and no one even acknowledged it. The cost was too much for that type of service.

    Food excellent, as usual. The room is so cold! Wish it were a little warmer. Our chef wasn't terribly engaging. Prepared our food nicely but no attempt to entertain.

    My friends and I had a great time. There was 5 of us and a couple sat with us. We all had really good food and it was a variety of meals amongst us. The steaks were all cooked to perfection and so tender, all the other proteins were as well. This is my 3rd time there and it has never disappointed.

    This was extremely overpriced. The dinner comes with a very small portion of food. I'm a peckish eater and still left hungry. Their portions used to be huge, but not anymore. We had a reservation at 4 pm and they didn't start making our food until around 5 pm. I don't understand why they would allow you to make a reservation at 4 pm if they weren't going to be ready to start cooking until 5. Our waitress came to check in a total of 4 times through the 2 hours we spent there and refilled our waters once. I would recommend going somewhere else.

    Very disappointed ! The server bringing our drinks was probably the only good from the night Food wasn’t good Chicken was dry no flavor Rice was burned with our eggs 330 for 7 people + 50 gratuity and the food was I wasn’t going to give a review but instead of never coming back ever so thanks for emailing me a reminder

    Our Server Edgar was nice and very attentive. Our young Hibatchi chef was okay. Some mistakes were made with order of Food and the show was just okay. Messing up on his routine and nit really much of a show. Kind of disappointing since that is what we came for was the show. I’ve been to multiple Mizu locations but I would have to say this one was a little disappointing. He was messy. But the food prepared tasted delicious. Just the show was the down fall. I wish we got the older chef. He seemed fun watching from The next table.

    We love going to Mizu's and go for many special occasions every year. The food is always good and the service is usually good as well. However tonight I was disappointed in the food and our chef. I know the show is cheesy and we have seen it hundreds of times, but this time it was hardly entertaining. The food was ok but I know it can taste a lot better than what we received. For the money you spend I want it to be fantastic, even if the show is mediocre. I do want to say our waitress was great and very attentive. Now will this keep us from coming back, most likely not. But we will probably consider other places before we make a final decision.

    The menu is deceiving. Says chicken is $22 but if you add fried rice it goes up $10. Seems extremely unreasonable.

    After being served the salad and soup, our table waited almost an hour for the chef to show up. He was very clumsy and rushing through all the motions. He dropped his cooking utensils, dropped a whole plate of raw veggies to the floor, also kept dropping cooked food on the table while serving them to each customer. Our table also received the least amount of fried rice, comparing to other tables, and it tasted burnt. The whole experience was bad.

    The food was good and the cooking show was fun. The only problem we had was my friend paid in cash and wasn't given change. She paid $100 and she should have gotten about $20 back in change. We ended up having to send my mother back to the restaurant to get the change which I find completely unacceptable. I would recommend going there for the food and show but make sure if you pay with cash you get your change back.

    The staff is like fine oiled machine, chaos everywhere they work together to make you feel special. The bartender made these wonderful drinks. It is a beautiful sugary green rim. They were too good.!!! three different parties at our hibachi stand, and the wait staff was on top of it. Awesome time they even had homecoming people there keep up the great work!

    Our chef was super nice but the food was just ok. Rice was undercooked meat was overcooked and out waitress disappeared. I had to get up and ask for more drinks and then later for our bill so we could leave.

    We ate at a table where the food is cooked and presented as a show. One of us for allergy needs had a meal cooked in the kitchen instead of at the table. That meal did not get served until we asked many times, but was only served after everyone else had finished their meals. The Hot tea was barely lukewarm. The Calamari was overcooked and hard, the soup was extremely salty, the fried rice had partially uncooked rice grains and lacked flavor and for the extra $4.50 only had a few gratings of carrots. The very knowledgeable waitress also did bar-tending duty and did not come back often enough. Several times we walked to find other servers to assist us. Our waitress apologized, stating only had 1 person was cooking in the kitchen today, hence the delay. The waitress gave us a discount of $42. The cook at our table was new, but the cook at the next table was real fun to watch. We compare this to Mikado and Benihana, and sadly this took 3rd place. On the positive, the Filet Mignon was excellent. All the staff were very friendly and we do plan to try this restaurant again in the future. It was at about 50 of capacity and we hope to have a better review after our next visit.

    Service is slow, so expect to wait a while as the chefs move around from table to table. Staff is friendly and accommodating. Food was well-prepared, and it was entertaining to see, but nothing really stood out as remarkable. It's a fun experience if you've never been to place like this before.

    Ordered fried rice additional. Used to get white rice as part of the meal so we got both. Now same price but when you order fried rice it is in lieu of white rice. Not a big deal just an unannounced change. Still a great place to eat

    The place was nice, looked nice, everything was clean. Wait time was very long. Seemed like they had about 3 people working the tables and took forever for someone to even come to the door. Then waited for table and then waited every long for waiter and finally chef. This was our first time at a Japanese steakhouse and Maby this is the way it’s supposed to be but it was not something we enjoyed. The waiter - I think his name was Bryan, was not pleasant at all, he did show up to refill drinks but had absolutely no table side manners and looked/acted mad at us the whole time. Grumpy appearance. Not pleasant and made us feel like we didn’t want to be there. The chef was a jolly guy, did great, I did not like food thrown at me and I don’t like playing with my food, we didn’t know this is what this type of restaurant did so I guess if we expected it we would have had a different reaction lol, also got charged 18% gratuity for a group over 5 people and we were a large group but we also paid a lot of money for our food, left somewhat hungry and not sure how I feel about it over all. Probably won’t return again.

    While still good, it wasn't what we have experienced in the past. Service was very slow, and our chef wasn't as friendly as many we have had. We will still return and try it again, as we hope this was a fluke.

    Brian was our chef and he was quite wonderful. The foods tend to taste too similar so that’s the only negative, but it was tasty. There’s simply the same flavor on scallop as steak because of the method of cooking and lack of spices. However, the fried rice was delectable. Absolutely amazing. Brian was interesting and wonderful. The cost for four to eat was almost three hundred dollars. We had fairly basic with fried rice upgrade and two sodas and one mocktail. No dessert. The amount of food was plentiful. In fact we all had a second meal of it, but isn’t great leftover. The waitstaff was kind and attentive. I enjoyed it.

    I think they were a little short staffed the night we came for dinner. Waited at the door quite awhile before being seated . Seated and waited quite awhile for acknowledgement from a waiter/ waitress. But then cam RUDY our chef. He was so fun and made the meal!

    Our first excursion there, and Liz was adorable! Our hibachi chef, Walter, was very good. Food excellent! No complaints with anything except there is no sushi and it was pretty pricy. I recommend trying this local place out; no regrets!!
