Monarch Prime and Bar
We ordered two pasta dishes, it took an hour and 10 minutes. The pasta dishes were under valued for the portions we received, they were the equivalent of an appetizer compared to other fine restaurants in the city
We would give the restaurant another chance because the food itself (and the reason we went there) was quite good. The salads were particularly good. The disappointment we found was due to the service being so slow (we were moving on to the opera), our waiter was a bit uninformed on the wine choices, and not really helpful in suggesting alternatives when they discovered they were out of our chosen entree of trout. So they subbed in salmon (which you can get in every Omaha restaurant and a little boring when you pay $34 per plate). We overheard our waiter tell the table next to us following our order, that then they were out of salmon, and this was at about 6:30pm. That's unacceptable for a restaurant of this level. This being said, we would give it a try again. The atmosphere is nice, seating comfortable, and the host at the front door was excellent. The waitress who had the table next to us that we overheard was stellar.
The service was fabulous. Our waitress was very attentive and explained everything very well. The Brussels sprouts were truly the best we’ve ever had. Steaks cooked to perfection.my only regret was we were too full to try dessert. We will definitely come back again!
It should’ve been a red flag that on a Sat night at 7pm the place was dead. While the food was relatively good the prices were out of line compared to other high end steakhouses. The vibe was quiet, but depressingly so. Our server did a fine job but we waited entirely too long for our entrees and half our table of 8 had to wait several minutes for theirs after the others had been delivered. How does that happen in an empty restaurant? When you spend this kind of money on dinner you want to walk out thinking that was fantastic and worth every penny. While it wasn’t “bad” per say, it certainly wasn’t that.
This was a great spot for our anniversary! Love the ambiance and amazing food.
Food is average. Plates weren’t cleared quickly.
This was by far one of the best dining experiences I've ever had. I highly recommend doing the chef's tasting menu. Every part of the meal felt cohesive and it was a wonderful journey through the flavors of fall. On top of that, the service from Melissa was next level. I'll be back next time I'm in Omaha.
Our food was great . We asked for bread and it was brought to us and we were charged for it. Wow!
The bathroom sink and mirror area is shared by all- not happy about that .
Server was good not great but was patient with us and explained the menu.
We will not be back as I’m not happy about sharing bathrooms with all genders.
Also who has to pay $4.30 for bread with a $150 check??
The food was so good each of us cleared our plates! Kaylen probably spelling that wrong is a great server! Attentive without hovering, and very nice too!
My friend and I had the Wagyu Eye of Ribeye and both of us were amazed by how good it was!
Service was excellent also! We really enjoyed out meal and the restaurant.
Steak is not worth the price. Everything was pretty bland.
A pre-broadway dinner, the server was prompt with our schedule and we enjoyed a delicious dinner
The wait staff was lovely and attentive! I had an injury and they brought me an ice pack and ibuprofen!
beautiful and exquisite....awesome waiter...food fabulous
Missed the baby red potatoes And butternut squash soup. Also lacked the volume of steak from the past few visits. Will have to consider other options for meals downtown.
Monarch was super helpful in accommodating a last minute change to our reservation with 5 guests instead of 3 as originally booked. I also appreciated their concern with getting us in and out in time to attend Hamilton. Fantastic customer service!
Michael is a wonderful waiter. Food is always good.
NOT accommodating for gluten free or dietary needs. Restaurant changed chefs and the new chef is not capable of cooking without gluten. Will NOT be returning here. The food is uninteresting and not worth it. They need a new chef. Every other restaurant in town is better. Zero recommendation.
We were early to our reservation and they seated us anyway which was very nice. They were a bit backed up at the bar so we received our soup and salads before our drinks. There weren't very many people there when we first arrived so we were a bit surprised it took an hour or so to get our main course. All in all a wonderful place with great food.
Dined here before heading across the way to watch a show at the Orpheum, and would say that this place was perfect for a preshow, upscale meal. Lunch wasn't what we expected because the main dining area was closed and they only offered lounge seating, but the food made up for that oddity. The steaks here are amazing and what they do with mushrooms is magical.
When we didn't order cocktails, we seemed to be treated like "second class." We were never offered any other beverage (like tea, etc). The taste of the food was fairly good but unusual spicing combination.
Very expensive for the serving - only an entre, not even a small serving of a bread.
We were dining before seeing Hamilton!! Excellent service. Every staff member we interacted with was welcoming. It’s a very attractive restaurant with an interesting and unique menu. Most of all, the food was delicious!
Better than Peter Lugers in NYC! Dry aged on site for 100 days! One of the best steaks I have had in my 46 years!
Service was top notch as well!
Truly deserve best of Omaha!
Excellent all around dining experience. Great for dinner before a show at the Orpheum (across the street). Servers are considerate and inquire about your showtime to be sure your meal is finished in time. Did not do the tasting menu due to time but our party had a variety of menu items and all were high quality, cooked perfectly, and well thought out preparations. It is like the steakhouse reinvented in a modern “nouveau ” style. Neat decor as well. Recommend trying!
One if the best dining experiences you’ll ever have 🤙❤️🧠
Great service from Melissa!
I really enjoyed my meal at The Monarch. The food was amazing! Larger portions would have made it even better, but I understand that what I was served is typical portion size at such establishments. My server, Melissa, was very friendly and personable. I was dining alone and she made sure to visit with me throughout the meal. I also saw her visiting with the other tables as well. It was an all around lovely experience.
Had a wonderful experience with the 7 course tasting menu with wine pairings. Our waiter Michael was so personable & explained our menu perfectly. The wine paired beautifully with the dinner. It was our first dining experience there & will definitely be back.
Did not understand why the beautiful wagyu steak was already carved and piled in a small steel bowl. The food was tasty but the presentation detracted from the experience.
The food is overpriced for what its worth. The best thing was the bread there, which was very flavorful. The service is good, but not enough to offset the food. The steak wasn't anything special, and was raw. The sauce didn't compliment the meat that well, and the steaks were cold. I wouldnt recommend this place.
Meal was delicious and service was pretty good! Only downside was that our entree could have been warmer. They gave us a complimentary dessert and it was absolutely delicious!
Amazing food! Great wine! Ryan the manager was extremely helpful with wine choices. We had a lovely time and will be back!!
I called before we arrived to say it was my wife's birthday, but there was no acknowledgement at desert.
The menu was beautiful but nothing we ordered tasted quite as good as it sounded. Steaks, in particular, were a tremendous disappointment relative to the price, hype and local comps.
Highly recommend the tasting menu! The food is delicious and beautiful. Im a big believer in if you don’t like something on the plate try it anyway because it’s a component of the dish and you may surprise yourself.
I discovered the restaurant on accident, as I was staying at the Hotel Deco - but what a gem! The service was impeccable and the value for the tasting menu and wine pairings was a bargain compared to similar restaurants in bigger cities. If you are a "foodie" and ever make it to Omaha, this should be your "go to" location. Added bonus: their bar program is also outstanding.
the food was very expensive for the value. the waiter was ok but the people who brought our food to the table were rude and not very understanding of my older clients.. the chocolate dessert board was very tiny. I will not be recommending this establisment
Absolutely delicious! From the trout appetizer to the cold asparagus soup for starters. And how about that bread? Unique texture and flavor; could not stop eating it! I had the gnocchi and date had the steak for our mains and it was fabulous and flavorful. Our compliments to the chef. Close to being our fav dining experience in Omaha.
Unfortunately it fell far short of expectations. The menu was very limited with only one seafood dish. Our dinner reservation was at 6:15 PM. The restaurant had already run out of the seafood dish when we ordered dinner. Additionally, we were charged for two cocktails we did not order nor want.bthecwaiter simply brought them over
