   Montmartre is our favorite restaurant in DC. We love the atmosphere and the food, and with half-price on bottles of wine, Sunday is a great time to go. We've eaten there dozens of times, with friends and out of town guests. We've never had a bad meal or even a bad course. The menu isn't extensive, but what is there is done perfectly. Book a table and be guaranteed a wonderful evening.

   Dinner at Montmartre was fabulous....both the food and the service. And the wine recommendation complemented everyone's meals perfectly....not always possible when there are 4 different entrees. We'll come back as soon as we can!

   The neighborhood did not seem enticing. But once in the restaurant, all improved immediately. The menu, and the fare were very français. And the service was superb.

    Had dinner at Montmarte Sat, 2/15/2020. Graceful and efficient service from everyone. The food was fantastic: escargot in a pesto oil, rabbit leg with mushrooms, baby carrots and linguine, seafood all cooked to perfection and served piping hot, which shouldn't be an issue but this is where many restaurants fall short. Intimate and cozy and beautiful to sit and enjoy. Will most assuredly visit agin next time in the city and send others to them as well. Simply perfect meals.

    Fabulous food—really delicious. We had a big meat eaters, seafood lovers, and a vegetarian in our group, and everyone loved their food! There is a main dish that’s vegetarian, but the vegetarian had onion soup, an endive salad, and a side of yummy Swiss chard made with hazelnuts. Plenty filling and scrumptious. The restaurant is on the pricey side, but it’s worth it. Portions are good and food is well prepared. Atmosphere is cozy and service is very good.

    Even though we live in the neighborhood we hadn’t been to Montmartre in many years. On a previous occasion their scornful refusal to cobble together a vegetarian entree for one in our party left a bad taste in our mouth (she made do with a soup and salad), but sheesh! Nevertheless we are aware of all the rave reviews that the restaurant garners, so my husband and I decided to give it another try for Valentine’s Day. I have to say we were delighted. Lovely hand-crafted cocktails to start. They offered a three-course prix fixe meal that was spectacular: chestnut soup and duck breast for my husband, salad and Arctic char for me. My husband marveled at how tender and flavorful the duck breast was. He had a beautiful raspberry mousse-cake for dessert, and Grand Mariner creme brûlée for me. They have a fabulous wine list, and we shared a bottle of a white Chateau-Neuf-du-pape which is a rare find. I couldn’t help noticing that the prix fixe menu actually included one vegetarian option! Good for you Montmartre. This is a neighborhood gem appropriate for a special occasion, with fabulous food, good service, and elegant ambiance. We will be back.

    Eating at Montmartre makes one wonder what is wrong with the Washingtonian Magazine's food critics, who have never given this marvelous place the number of stars it deserves. For a recent meal, a European guest and I had (1) the best calves liver I have ever eaten and (2) the best seafood stew he had ever eaten. Plus, the wines were being sold at half price and we had a lovely bottle of St. Joseph's. Couldn't have been better or more welcoming.

    Consistently great! We have never been disappointed at Montmartre over the 20 plus years we have been dining here. The wait service folks are friendly, professional and highly knowledgeable. The menu offers their specialties like cassoulet and rabbit and a constant variety of fresh seafood. It is the best restaurant on Capitol Hill.

    I’ve been coming to Montmartre for more than 15 years. The level of the food offered there is phenomenal. The preparation is always incredible with a great atmosphere. They deserve a Michelin Star. Their lunch, dinner and brunch are spectacular. We’ve come to know the staff and truly cherish their passion for Montmartre.
