Morimoto - MGM Grand Las Vegas
Excellent food and service.
The quality of the food was not great! My husband ordered a steak & it was way over cooked. Also the sushi rolls were not great! We had dinner at Catch at the aria the night before & the sushi was absolutely amazing there. Would not ever go back to Morimoto.
This place is AMAZING! So good! The food was the best! The service by our waiter, Prince, was spectacular!! So glad we came here!
We had the tasting menu with the wine pairing. Absolutely outstanding!
We tried a couple different appetizers, several different sushi and sashimi options, and a main course. All were excellent. Matt was our server and was also very knowledgeable on the numerous Sake options which also led to an excellent time.
We love Japanese food and Morimoto does everything right. They made my birthday delicious!
Our sever was amazing!
This was one of the best meals I have ever had! The food was excellent!!! We came in thinking we were just going to get sushi and our server told us all about who Morimoto was and what he is known for. He went over the menu extensively and we ordered a bunch of different dishes. Every dish we ordered was so good!!! The white fish carpaccio was our favorite!! We also ordered the oyster foie gras, crispy fish, sticky ribs and a pork belly rice dish that they make at the table! Everything was so good and I highly recommend trying this place if you get the opportunity!
Prince was awesome!
The hostess team was really great!!!
Service on point in all areas!!!
Food was excellent but we will not go back. We were first seating at 5:00pm and our food order wasn't taken for 36 minutes. All of our food came out at random times with my entree coming 10 minutes later than others at our table. Appetizers were brought out after our entrées. We were told they had no control over timing as food came from "different kitchens". I honestly don't understand that with a restaurant of this caliber. We enjoyed our food but the portions were way too small and were way overpriced.
My friends and I were disappointed at the quality of food and presentation for this Morimoto restaurant. We chose the $140 Omakase dinner. We started out excellently with the beef carpaccio with truffle shavings and the tuna tartare. These two were absolutely delicious and presentation was Morimoto-esque. The third course of a lobster bisque cioppini was nicely presented and tasted pretty good. Then came the 4th course which was a plate of 7 nigiri sushi - the rice was terrible, cold, clumpy, hardly seasoned; the fish was dry, not of good quality - as if it was in the refrigerated deli section of your local supermarket. The fifth and last dish was unacceptable. It was surf and turf lobster and steak. This definitely did not look Japanese and no where close to Morimoto's style. The small piece of steak was very well done (they never asked us how we wanted it done) , I could not identify the sauce on the bottom because it was crusted on to the plate, the half lobster tail was baked dry and super salty with the chili salt that covered it, and the two wilted pieces of Chinese broccoli were also very salty. The presentation was haphazard, and one of us did not get any oyster mushrooms on the plate like the others did ; inconsistent. It looked like what MGM would serve at a big banquet dinner where food would be less than sub-par when it's served for 1000 people all at once. This could not be something that Morimoto would have put on his menu.
Our waitress was super nice and was very understanding. She called out her general manager who was also apologetic and modified the price. I hope that Morimoto gets word of this so that he can fix this poor quality and prevent any further tarnishing of his name.
Appetizer delivery was poor, coming out in pieces, including one that came out after the entrees were delivered. The sushi did not appear to be made to order—-some of the rice was a bit hard on the edges, and none of it was warm as you have in high end sushi restaurants. Some of the sushi pieces were great, such as the toro, but others were average. At the price and reputation it should have been much better. If you want great Japanese in Vegas there are better choices.
OMG!! Probably the best meal I've had in my life!! Lisa was AMAZING!! Stick Rib appetizer set the tone. The Wagyu Filete Mignon was to die for. I had Lisa's suggestion of the Pork Chops. WOW, WOW, WOW!! NOTHING BAD TO SAY!!
Please bring a lot of cash or your credit card. It is pricey, but WORTH EVERY CENT!!!
Wonderful experience food and service terrific.
Exquisite. Our waiter was wonderful and suggested all the perfect items. One of the best meals I have ever had.
Celebrated my birthday I decided to dine here. I found the shashimi were very fresh but at the same time overpriced. My appetizer or oysters with sea urchin and seared froi gras were also expensive.
I didn’t taste anything that was screaming Morimoto. The martini was mediocre and pricy as well. Overall I’d give it a 3 but for the price it would be $$$$
Nice environment quick service! We ordered the oyster with uni. That’s really delicious. Our waiter Steve was excellent and very knowledgeable on the menu and sake. Excellent experience!
The staff is friendly, food is tasty, everything was great!
Very expensive and food is good but not great. Wouldn’t go back but had a good time
Server was excellent
The food and atmosphere were amazing! Eddie made great recommendations for dining options, especially the Cheesecake dessert. The sushi was delicious, the highlight of the meal was Ishi Yaki Chashu Bop, pork and tableside made rice dish, it was to die for. We shall return!
Amazing food, amazing service, a must visit if you’re at the MGM!
Food was amazing! One of my new fav’s
Great food -- cooked and raw items. Very creative options as well as classic sushi/sashimi selections.
One of my favorite Japanese restaurants on the strip you got to do the sizzling yellowtail that they prepare tableside. The pork belly salad is so bomb. Wasn’t crazy about their Japanese mule but overall it’s a great spot and a perfect date spot.
It was so good
Great experience once more. A few errors on the order but corrected immediately
Great food & service! Would come here again. Tried the Philadelphia location years ago and this one is just as great!
We came around 5pm. Waited 5 minutes with reservations. Large classy restaurant. Nice modern decor. Our waitress was nice but seems quiet and shy. Ordered 3 appetizers and they were very good. The oysters uni foie gras was out of this world delicious. Ordered another of it. For the main, we shared a sushi combo. That was just ok. Not good. Should’ve just ordered something off their main entree list. It was very pricey that we chose not to order anything else. Altogether we paid $220 with tip for 4 appetizers and a sushi combo. Not worth it. Only thing worth to try are the appetizers. That’s it.
I booked this reservation because a friend of mine was getting married in Las Vegas, and really wanted to dine at Morimoto while we were in town. I told her I would take care of the reservation and the details, and the whole experience was effortless and very rewarding. The bride-to be was very happy, and we all had a great time. The staff was extremely helpful and knew the menu and wine list very well. The food was excellent, and I really appreciated the presentation as well as the taste. I would definitely recommend the restaurant to friends who are planning a trip to Las Vegas, and I'm looking forward to trying out more of the menu on my next visit.
Always one of the best dining experiences
Over all a great
The food was honestly subpar. Worse sushi I’ve had in years. Rice had no flavor and was hard and tasted a bit old. The fish wasn’t fresh and slightly dry. I couldn’t eat it anymore, had it removed from the table. Surf and turf was okay but the steak want memorable. The thick sauce was gross. Morimotos sashimi was also old tasting fish and gave me a bit of nausea in the end. The place had good reviews on Yelp but in reality, it’s more of a 3/5 stars.
Our dinner at Morimoto was one of the highlights of our Las Vegas vacation. It was the best meal we had, and it was a lot more affordable than we had anticipated for four people (2 adults and 2 children).
Very good overall. Great menu. Typical high Vegas prices, but well worth it when compared.
Just amazing Japanese. Excellent starters and sushi, sashimi. I've been going every year for at least 5. Flavours are bursting.
Very pleasant dining experience, diverse food and wine menu, knowledgeable servers.
Some of the best food I’ve ever had. Wavy beef appetizer, grilled shrimp, steak and more. Fantastic and Michael was a fabulous chef/host!
I’ll definitely be back.
