Great service, great cuisine
Great ambiance and excellent service from staff. Will be going back again.
Ask to sit in the atrium for brunch and order the glazed donut appetizer and split it with someone you love. Also order a spicy Bloody Mary or, for sweet cocktails, a Meringue Royal.
Beautiful setting and delicious food. Would come again.
New Year’s Day breakfast. Service was excellent. Atmosphere is always good there. Nice table. Quiet. Coffee and crash OJ were perfect. Breakfast a bit disappointing. Nice thick bacon appeared to be deep fried. English muffin was cold. Potato cake side a bit unoriginal and appeared deep fried as well. For the price point and Morrissey’s past experiences a bit disappointing. We were enjoying our morning so no need to start off the New Year with a complaint to staff. We will go back. Just a few comments to think about. Happy New Year!!
Great food! Good service.
Gets better every time I go!
Food tasted great, but very small portions for an expensive price. Ordered scallops and shrimp and received, two scallops, two pieces of shrimp, one baby potato, and 2 TINY florets of broccoli that werent even big enough for a toddler. Taste was great, but for $30, I would expect maybe a few more baby potatoes and an actual size floret of broccoli. It would be nice if this was listed in the description of how many pieces are included for $30.
Service was pretty terrible. We ordered appetizers and received appetizer from a runner but waited an additional 15 minutes to get plates from our server to even begin to eat our appetizer. Server did not check on us frequently. Although, he did answer our questions about our menu - he didn't even come by to refill drinks in a timely fashion. We got there at 5:30PM and left around 8PM, mainly because service was extremely slow and we had to wait a long time to receive plates for our appetizers, more drinks, and even put a dessert order in. Even after we finished dinner, we waited 20 more minutes for our plates to be cleared.
We had high expectations for this place but probably won't even come back due to portion sizes, prices, and slow service. However, food was tasty for the limited amount we got.
We have been eating at this restaurant for several years. We where disappointed in the size of the portions.
The amount of sauce for the lobster bisque was a joke, no more than 4/5 tablespoons.
Otherwise the food, staff and the interior design was fine.
Had Christmas Eve dinner they had special menu. 3 course excellent and plenty of choices. Great table right in front of Christmas tree. Waiter was excellent. Friendly and professional. Dinner was outstanding one of my best dining experiences
Morrissey’s has become a local favorite. We go often and will continue to do so. Christmas Eve was not quite up to their usual standards, but still a positive experience overall. We would have really appreciated knowing ahead of time that there was a special menu for the holidays. Although this is certainly a common practice, There was no mention of this on the website and we were disappointed that certain items we were really looking forward to were not available. We were also disappointed to be seated in a side room that had been converted to dining space for the evening and was severely lacking in ambience, especially relative to the lovely conservatory, which we had specifically requested, or even the cozy bar. Service was friendly but extremely slow and the food was hit or miss. Some dishes were excellent like the creative and umami-packed caramelized onion soup. Others were slightly underwhelming like the under seasoned and slightly dry prime rib in an unpleasantly earthy mushroom jus. The low point was the Bouche de noel dessert which was cold, dry and very dense. Not worth a second bite. Cocktails were outstanding as always. All in all, for only $75 per person, it was a great value and a nice way to spend Christmas Eve. We would return next year when hopefully more normal conditions will make things a little more manageable for the Adelphi’s outstanding culinary staff.
Miss Blue Hen. Conversion could have been great but no one out in any time. Feels like furniture in dining room was repossessed and they just threw in bar furniture. Severs are very nice but the whole thing just feels wrong. Not a welcoming place you want to stay in. Menu is definitely a step or two or three down. Food itself is lackluster. After being regulars at BH we won’t be going back. Shame this gem was lost.
Great, as always!
The steak fortes, steak salad and banana cream pie were all terrific. And the bartender made me a fabulous red sangria.
Morrissey's at the Adelphi is a very good restaurant - the brunch menu items were excellent and the vibe was great. I really enjoyed my time and would come back for sure.
Excellent food and service
Had breakfast here on Black Friday. The setting and Christmas decorations were magical, the food excellent and service good.
Beautiful restaurant. Loved, the ambiance, the food and the service. I would most definitely go there again!
Delicious birthday brunch at Morrissey's, in the glass atrium toward the back of the Adelphi. It felt like we were transported to another time and place. The Bacon & Eggs (clothesline bacon) was delicious as a shared appetizer. We loved the Shakshuka and burger. The tables were well spaced out and all staff and diners wore masks when not seated -- it felt very safe. I wish we could go more often!
We went to Morrisey's after a very disappointing appetizer at Salt & Char. Waitress was attentive and informative. The food was very fresh. I would highly recommend this restaurant.
Amazing food and drinks. We are from Manhattan and if this place was in the city, would go to it once a month.
Nice menu and wine list. We sat outside on the patio which was lovely.
Been there 3 times recently - 2 times outside with overhead heaters and once inside.
All 3 times everything was very good and we're pleased to recommend the restaurant.
The food was delicious. It is a cold room they are using and, during these cold winter months, they would do well to "warm" the room up with heavy curtains over the floor to ceiling windows and perhaps a rug on the cold tile floor. It would also help with noise. Service was fine - nothing special.
There to celebrate our wedding/my husbands birthday with his twin brother and his wife.
Coming from two managers in the service industry, the service was beyond poor.
After spending the evening at the Adelphi the night before and then coming downstairs to Morrissey’s for brunch (needless to say money was spent) the wait staff was so awful at the restaurant.
We get it, it’s Covid. But if there’s specific protocols (i.e. certain amount of time to stay at the restaurant, etc.) let your customers know instead of rudely hand you the check when they think you’re done. If we only were able to spend a little bit of time there, of course we would be watching the clock on a respectful level and leave when we were supposed to.
Then when we’d like to get more drinks (aka spend more money at the establishment) we were rudely told we need to “reopen our check” and “buy more food” after we just spent $200+ on brunch.
No problem. We “reopened our check” and bought some more food to get more drinks in addition to the brunch we just paid for.
My husband was handing his brother the bucket of fries and accidentally spilled his $31 drink he didn’t even sip.
We obviously apologized and obviously asked for another drink.
The waitress brought us a new drink AND a new check.... when I asked what the new check was for she replied with “YOU spilled the drink.”
I was a General Manager on Broadway in Saratoga at one point and so help me god if I were to ever treat a paying customer or just anyone in general with such disrespect after just spending almost $1,000 in one day at the establishment.
No manager or anyone checked on us to see what the problem was or anything. We were extremely disappointed by how poorly the waitstaff treated us. Definitely never going back.
Nice. Great sushi.
We dined outdoors during COVID and it was lovely. All safety guidelines were followed perfectly. The patio had a few heaters so it was nice. I had the crispy duck with bean threads which was amazing. My husband had the salmon which he said was delicious. Would definitely return.
Outdoor seating was well managed; heaters work well, tables comfortable. Service was fine but not outstanding, we had some long waits and not much guidance on the menu. Food was mixed. Lobster dumplings were great. Short rib croquets good. "Roasted beets" were actually an endive salad with little beet cubes in it. Fine, but not special, and not primarily beets. Mussels were a real disappointment. Made in pizza oven, so shells very brittle and sauce didn't flavor most of them at all - they just tasted of smoke. Also tiny. Crostini and sauce were excellent - we wished the mussels hadn't been in the way. Quite expensive for what it was.
The Adelphi Salad was amazing, as was my glass of Chardonnay. We shared the Red Mussels and it could not have been more appetizing.
I ate here for dinner and was lucky enough to sit outside. The food was delicious. I had the crab cakes and the steak for dinner. I do wish the crab cake were bigger, but only because they were so delicious. The waitress was also kind enough to suggest a great red wine to go with the steak.
Good food, pleasant seating, comfortable evening.
We chose to eat outside because of COVID so it’s hard to complain about the noise from the cars on the street. However it was noisy and took away the ambiance for a special night out. That being said, food and drinks were excellent. And service superb.
Excellent menu and better service
Brunch menu from sister restaurant. Good individual pizzas. Great outdoor patio.
Everything was perfect! The food was excellent and our server; Brooke, was Exceptional - we will definitely return.
The appetizer, main meal and dessert were excellent as was the service.
Bartender made an excellent cocktail, food was delicious, service excellent. Very attractive space and pleasant atmosphere. Very enjoyable experience.
On a windy Sunday afternoon, we opted to sit at a booth in the bar rather than on the front porch. Our view was nearly as nice! Mike B was our energetic and attentive server. The advertised Mussels brought us in, and we added the Scottish salmon and the Pretzel crusted crab cake balls appetizer to our table. All food items were well-prepared and quite delicious. The bar atmosphere is comfortable if not fancy. A fine and cozy spot on busy Broadway.
