Morton's The Steakhouse - Rochester
Brandon (our waiter) did a wonderful job and going above and beyond the call of duty. Thank you Katie (Assistant Mgr) as well!
The food is very tasty and the service was superb. My husband and I both ordered medium rare steaks though and they were definitely different (his pink, mine more cooked) and they put the sauce on top of the steak (I prefer to dip) hence my rating.
Excellent service from Brandon, well-executed dishes from the chef. Could NLT not ask for a better steakhouse dining experience.
Great food but extremely expensive for what it is. Probably a good place to eat once or twice a year.
Also one thing that surprised is how calorific the food is. 1200 calories for 8oz steak with a tiny bit of lobster and 2 asparagus? 1400 calories tiny cheesecake? Everything must be cooked with tons of butter. They should completely reevaluate their menu. Most things can be cooked with half the calories easily. So yeh most things not worth the calories. I mean don’t get me wrong things are tasty but they totally not worth the calories in our opinion.
Great scallop special and mouth watering filet
Excellent dinner and excellent service--The new Manager Gabe was outstanding--coming by tables checking on things and pitching in to help wherever needed==would definitely recommend this place
Loved every minute there...
The food was not at the level I would expect for a high end steak house. We had two fillets that were decent but The Prime Bone-In Ribeye was terrible and very tough.
Service is pretty good. It’s a fantastic dating experience!
Excellent food if you're willing to spend a good amount of money.
We went for my husbands birthday and it was just amazing. The food was great and our server went above and beyond to make sure my husband was made to feel special for his birthday :) and needless to say we left full and satisfied!
Food is very good but expensive. Service was a little slow but expected on a holiday
Looks like the restaurant was not equipped to host a large party. Food was good but I would say overpriced. Slow service, loud environment as we were seated in front of the open kitchen.
Food very good
The steaks were tender and very flavorful
The chocolate lava cake was unbelievable!
Are server was great
Not the best sound deading which makes it hard to hear and have some conversation
The service was VERY slow, our steaks were extremely undercooked and by the time the server checked to see how the steaks were, everyone was halfway done with dinner. The steak quality was decent, but for the price we were expecting MUCH better.
Reservation for 730. Didn’t seat till 750
Did not receive menus when sat at table
Service was slow and waitress not easy to flag down.
Ambiance excellent. Food very good.
All in all a good experience. Food was wonderful, service was good. The dining room felt like it was about 50° we were all freezing. But as everyone says this place is ridiculously overpriced and I have to agree
Expected more from an expensive steakhouse. Food was....OK. Service was....OK. Ambiance was....OK
Staff was extremely attentive and the food was delicious and cooked perfectly to order
Alexis was exceptional...very attentive, friendly and patient. The food was great and the only reason I would give less than 5 stars is that our sides were delayed coming out, not until we were halfway done eating our steaks. (To no fault of the wait staff).
Brian, Brett, Lauren and the staff made me feel very special on my 50th birthday. Always a great experience here. Food was fantastic, service great! Thank you!!!!
Service is always great
Very nice end of the week date night. Service was top notch. We had drinks and an appetizer in the bar area, then moved to the dining room when they started serving at 5. Only complaint was that, seated by the window, there was a cold draft. Still, some coffee and hot food cured that. It’s nice to see familiar faces. The young gentleman at the front of the house, a fellow Yankees fan, was there to commiserate about recent disappointments. Then we had a nice chat with Brandon about his upcoming trip to Spain. We chatted about the impending miserable weather with the gentleman who pours the water and does other important tasks. It’s small things that make the experience of dining personal and fun for us. It makes the experience so much less stiff and formal. It takes a personable staff to offer that, but it’s worth it.
Exceptional as usual
Service was great- very attentive. The grilled asparagus with balsamic was delicious. My medium rare bone in ribeye was quite a bit more rare than I would have liked. Expectations were high and not quite met. Same reaction from others we were with. Good meal and atmosphere, but not Wow.
Our experience at Morton's was terrible. The food was good but not great, although very expensive. The service was worse than poor! Even though there were only three other tables dining, we waited endlessly for service and this continued all evening. The wait staff was far from attentive to say the least. We have dined at Morton's in Phoenix numerous times, always experiencing a wonderful evening. It is sad that we will not be able to do this here in Rochester......
Food was delicious! Everyone enjoyed their meal. Drinks were a bit slow to arrive hence only 4 stars for service. Definitely recommend.
Our server, Brandon was excellent. He assisted with the gluten free needs of one of my guests. She has a medical condition that requires her to be very strict with any foods containing or cooked with gluten-containing foods. She was able to enjoy a wonderful meal.
Earlier this week I was in Rochester for a yearly business conference and had the opportunity to host a business dinner for 8 people. I had never been to the Rochester Morton’s before, but chose it because I have had good experiences at other Morton locations and wanted to impress my guests.
Unfortunately, that did not happen. First, the dinner started with only 5 menus that we had to pass around because and I quote; “we do not have enough menus to go around.” The restaurant was barely thirty percent full, but we were told there was giant party in the back that had all the menus. That could have been understandable except it was a lie, there was maybe a party of 10 back there. We also had 2-3 different waiters throughout the night because they were very under staffed and all had to run around. It took an unreasonable amount of time, over 30 minutes, to get cocktails and order appetizers. With that being said, the oysters and scallops that we had for appetizers were very good.
Moving on to Dinner; our entire party ordered steak entrees. Three guests commented their steaks were delicious. The others were not impressed, including my steak which was overdone. One guest’s steak was raw, so he sent it back. It returned a little warmer but still rare at best. He could not eat it. Dessert menus were brought while two people were still eating their steaks. We did not order dessert and we were still there for three hours… which is a very long time.
As I said, I have visited other locations before. This Rochester Morton’s is not up par with the rest. When I pay over $1,000 for dinner, I expect it to be perfect. It was embarrassing for me and Morton’s should also be embarrassed.
Another great meal at Morton's! This was our first time at the one in Rochester, and it did not disappoint. I had the cajun seasoned ribeye which was delicious as always, along with a wonderful Caesar salad. My wife had a $64 special 3 course meal which she loved...lobster bisque, 6 oz. filet mignon with lobster tail, shared side of Brussels sprouts, and white chocolate pecan bread pudding. Also, the (complimentary) fresh baked loaf of onion bread with freshly made butter was amazing! Our server, Adam, was wonderful.
Very nice. Our waiter, Brandon, was great, as usual. Great service makes the dining experience. The food was good, if pricy. I thought the seafood platter for two was a little small for 58.00, but the other parts of the meal were decently priced for a high end restaurant. We’ll definitely be back.
My wife and I went to Morton’s for our 5th anniversary...I’ve been to them all, from CA to NYC!! What set Morton’s apart was their COMPLETE attention to detail w/ a great local flair. I’ve had 5 star food many places but this was a very special feel. Michael is a total pro and their staff highly trained. There are fantastic restaurants in this area but the experience was unbeatable because of the pristine, personal & professional service. For an occasion...It’s a must!!
PS...Even the menus presented had “Happy 5th Anniversary”...Just got better from there!!
Wonderful service, quality food with no detail left unattended. This place is becoming my favorite steak house in the Greater Rochester area. I guess we qualify as regulars even though we only come in when there’s a deal. That said, to get an amazing 3 course meal for <100.00 is irresistible, but the service, food, and ambience seal the deal. Music could be a little softer. I should have said something and they would have fixed it. It’s really nice to talk to the host about the Yankees. Sometime we also start in the bar for “Power Hour” discount drinks and snacks. Nice dinner!
Good business meal, shrimp were great, the wrapped Mitzi cheese very good.
Mixed on the food - some great but other steaks not so great. Very expensive for them to miss on anything.
We were so impressed with the staff’s attention to detail. I booked our reservation online and included a note indicating we would be celebrating a graduation.
Wow, were we surprised to see that each of our dinner menus included a message that said “Congratulations on your University of Rochester Nursing School Graduation!”
Our waiter Jim was wonderful as he happily answered questions and offered great recommendations. After placing our order, the friendly gentleman who welcomed us at the door offered to take a group photo and presented it to the graduate in a lovely Morton’s Steakhouse folder with a hand written note. What a nice way to remember such a great evening.
The food arrived quickly and everything was delicious.
The chopped salad was amazing and the bread was to die for, freshly baked, still warm, and pleasantly different from your ordinary bread basket.
The steaks and sides came out piping hot and did not disappoint.
My only criticism is regarding the survey. When asked to evaluate value, I think of sales and special offers. We didn’t choose Morton’s because we were looking for a bargain. We chose it because we wanted a memorable experience with great food.
That’s exactly what we got, and it was worth every cent.
Great place with great food ! A little pricey for the area. Slam dunk in dining!
Valet was backed up/not experienced & we had to park own car... told them we had a show to get to.. had 2hrs but too long of a wait for food to come out that we were rushed & had to pack it up to go
LOYAL CLIENT,WENT LAST YEAR FOR MY SON JORDAN BIRTHDAY AND THEY HAD MENU'S PRINTED IN HIS NAME,THIS YEAR ON HIS BIRTHDAY AND HE IS HEADED OFF TO COLLEGE THEY ACKNOWLEDGED THAT. MORE THAN FRIENDLY THEY ARE GENUINE
Spectacular food. Service exception and very professional.
