Morton's The Steakhouse - Troy
Filet Mignon Trio
Made a reservation for 830 and didnt get in until after 930. Otherwise was fine.
We sat in the bar area this time and had exceptional as usual.
Tiki was kind enough to make me my favorite Morton’s passion martini.
Excellent dinner as well. Bartender was great!
Always a great meal at Morton’s and my server, Jonathan, was very accommodating and attentive! I sat in the bar area to celebrate my birthday early since we were shutting down at midnight...I needed to have my last supper out!!
Experience was consistent with what I expected from a high end restaurant, nothing more or less. The wine selection was almost non-existent with a handful of cabs listed but lined out as not available.
Great service, food and atmosphere. Try the wagyu meatballs!
Food was surprisingly average to mediocre. I was surprised at the vast difference in taste compared to other 'steak house chains'. Very good service and nice atmosphere.
we always look forward to our dinners there and it never disappoints. The menu is a bit limited but we totally understand. The staff/chef was accommodating so that was greatly appreciated. Chef even made us Oysters Rockefeller although it wasn't on the menu, so thank you. The staff always make our special occasions wonderful. Thanks and stay well. hope to see you inside again soon.
service was awful. had to ask for plates to be removed from the table after multiple visits from our waiter as he continued to leave plates at the end of the small table. our waiter was rude, short spoken, and inattentive
Our server Rebecca was excellent great suggestions service and she really made it a great night and meal thanks
Filet was awesome, cooked to perfection. The Morton’s salad was ok, I can make a fresher more tasty salid at home. Everyone seemed to enjoy their meals.
Service was very slow! We sat for 45 mins before our order was taken.. didn’t not have proper ingredients for our drinks. Waitress spilled a drink on my friend.
Delicious food! The best steak around! We go every chance we get for an elegant dinner.
Excellent Evening. The Staff at Morton's could not have been nicer. Wine, Food and Service were excellent! We will return soon.
My wife and I was celebrating our 31st anniversary. For the past 2 years we’ve spent our time there and this year wasn’t any different other we wasn’t given our celebration menu that’s offered. Other than that the food and service was great.
The menu meant a lot to my wife because she save them for keepsakes. Unfortunately we we will not have one big mistake.
Our last visit to Morton’s.
Outstanding food and service. Simply one of the best Morton's in the US. Strongly recommend.
Service was great, Tom I believe. Food was good, however the steaks weren’t as tender as expected, also I didn’t like the “auctioning” of food upon delivery.
Love it. First time ever & I enjoyed.
I'm sure in 1980 this was a top place to get a steak and it was deserved, however, its 40 years later and, without change or evolution - this is now and old-school, legacy, place that isn't anywhere worth the money.
We ordered 3 steaks - including 2 filet mignons - both ordered medium. Mine came out medium rare and my dads was medium well. The one thing they have going for them is their steaks and they got both wrong (prices of $47 to $56). We ate them as I know better than to send food back ;-).
Service was fine but nothing worth noting and the decor of the oval cream plates and diner-like tables covered in plain black tablecloths left little to be desired.
The ambience wasn't there for this level of a restaurant (or for where they are trying to maintain their status) and, while not the restaurants fault - there was a table of 4 with 2 children under 3 - and they really made the experience difficult to enjoy as the children screamed the whole meal. considering 3 people with one bottle of wine and 3 steaks with 2 sides - costs $300 - I would expect better ambiance, food and general experience.
this is such an old-school place and for the money we won't be revisiting.
this place is amazing the service is very amazing I really enjoyed my time.
Enjoyed the evening at Morton's Steakhouse. Our server was attentive and friendly, recommending the salmon and chicken Christopher. Both were exceptional choices. Will be back.
The waitress was awesome!!! The food was delicious.
Great food and ambience but disappointing service.
For a high end streak restaurant, high quality food, service, and ambience is expected. Anything short of that is very disappointing. Unfortunately, our service was just ok - the same you might find at an average restaurant like Outback.
There was three of us who dined at the high top table in the lounge. I arrived late so there was only two place settings (understandable). We placed our order and the salads arrived and I had to ask for a fork. Perhaps the wait staff was going to get it, but I didn’t get the sense that they noticed that a place setting was missing.
Later, the entrees arrived but not the side dishes. We thought it would arrive momentarily as side dishes sometimes do. But it never did. Additionally, there was a half eaten plate of salad that was never removed and it crowded our table. Lastly, my wife ordered a second glass of wine just before the entrees arrived. We had finished our entrees and told the waiter to cancel our side dishes and the second glass of wine.
The waiter was nice but did not apologize for whatever the cause of the mixup nor offer to make things better for us. This is the type of service I would not be surprised to see come from a lower priced restaurant, but for a higher end steak restaurant is very disappointing.
Anniversary and great time.
I offered to buy a bday patron a drink a manager stated the person doesn’t drink but the restaurant still charged me $18 for the drink anyway
Underwhelming... certainly no where near the standard you expect from Morton’s. We have eaten at this restaurant many times before, and this was the worst experience. I certainly understand COVID changed many things; including a slimmed down menu; but the quality of food and service should never suffer.
Food was simply ok, not as hot or as flavorful as normal. The lobster Mac and cheese was dry. The highlight of the meal was the desert; that was spot on.
From a service perspective; waited too long for drinks, never asked if we wanted another. Timing was way off. There is simply too much competition in town for a miss like this.
First from the start it was Horrible I will never go there again. The Manger was at the door and she was rude , clearly on this app it says they only give you a 15 min grace period my reservation was at 8:30 .It was 8:32and everyone for my party wasn't there yet . I ask it we can be seated until I party arrives ,she abruptly said ,it be be only for 2 and we will lock the doors at 9 we seat our last table at 8:30.My husband said you can't seat at the table we reserved for 5 ,he left to see how long it will before they get there .Her attitude was despicable, like we was in the way. She kept saying we will lock the doors at 9 and the kitchen will close, will you be ordering for them and you have to pay for it if they show or not. First of all the last reservation you can get was for 9 so how they work that out who knows. The rest of my party gets there before 8:45 no one come to our table until 8:50 we sit there for another 15mins they bring our water and bread when watier gets there we are already unhappy , are table is wobbly and un even, it's past 9 we hurry and order, it's my husband Birthday he just came for the crab legs. We order it took the another 15 20 mins to come back and say we out of crab legs. Now I can not say I know regular restaurant protocol but come on ,it has to be checks and balances. Morton's from the start didn't want us there that's how it felt .She came to our table in a very abrasive tone to explain what happened ask if we like anything else, damage was done already we just got up an left. We went down to Eddie V's we were the last table the accommodated us perfectly . We told them it was my husband Birthday and had Birthday confetti on the table took car of us right away. Plus they had crab legs which were excellent, Eddie V's saved the night.
Great service ! They made my 14 year old feel special for his 14th birthday.
It was an amazing experience.
This review is based on my visit to this establishment on the evening of Oct 2, 2020. Our appointment was at 8:15 and we did not get seated until 8:50. Even when seated, the waiter did not immediately greet us (until 5-7 minutes later). After we ordered our drinks and salads, we had to flag down our waiter and ask for bread for the table, which is something that is customarily brought out for every customer (but of course not us). We ordered a couple of sides and two steaks prepared the same way. After 45 minutes, the sides and entrees finally came out. One steak was perfectly cooked, while the other was like warm and not prepared at all how we ordered it. This was mentioned to the waiter and only an apology was provided. The saving grace for the meal was the dessert, the molten lava cake (can’t remember the name), was delicious. If not for that, this would have been a 1 star review. We were expecting the manager to stop by our table, as we saw him stop by every other table and check on how the meal was going, but of course that did not happen. I understand that they are doing the best they can during this difficult time, but maybe start by not severely overbooking your dine in reservations. There were 3 families behind us that waited 45 minutes + even though they had reservations. That really puts a damper on any celebration. Even if there is a wait, the rest of the experience and food should make up for that - which sadly it did not. Overall, what was supposed to be a celebratory anniversary dinner turned into an a major disappointment. The quickest part of the service was when I asked for the bill. Even then, nothing was taken off for our troubles. What should have been a 90 minute dinner, turned into a 3 hour ordeal. I will not be returning to this establishment.
We had a very enjoyable dinner with great service. Our waitress Marissa and the Manager Matthew were extremely attentive. Steaks were prepared perfectly. This was a second chance visit because we were unhappy with our first visit and we were not disappointed. Totally opposite experience this time. Would definitely go back
We had a great birthday celebration dinner. Our waiter was excellent. Only drawback is we had to wait about 15 minutes to be seated even with a reservation. Several couples went ahead of us and we were the last to be seated.
Food and selection not great, just okay. For the price you would expect much better presented and prepared.
Service w attitude
Won’t be returning soon
Expensive but well worth the price! The experience and ambience of the restaurant transports you away from the rest of world. As jazz plays in the background your table is Ivorians with padded tables and white linen. A flickering candle sets the mood in the center of your table.
The food is superb from the fresh baked onion rolls with the choice of whipped butters then the appetizers until the last bite of the entree. Our waiter was very attentive and informative regarding the meal and menu.
Can’t wait to return to try something new on the menu to experience the Morton’s version of well known dishes.
Clearly not the normal top shelf experience I'm accustomed to having at Morton's. Not sure if it was the Covid thing or the fact that I got the steak and lobster special on a crowded night. Waited for a table even though I had a reservation. Dinner was somewhat rushed. Steak quality not as high as usual. Side dishes arrived several minutes after entrée. Ramekin of barely warm butter instead of traditional heated butter. Server was fine but the overall experience was just not up to par.
Always a great meal and service. Our server, Faith, was perfectly attentive and the General Manager, Matt, does a great job on making sure everything is going well!
Food was excellent, service was slow, waitress was always missing, atmosphere was not as expected
It was my husbands birthday and I thought we would check out Morton’s as we haven’t been in years ( had bad experience in the past so we’ve been going elsewhere). When we.checked in, the waitress wished my husband a happy bday and it was on our menus. Very nice!
Things seemed to go downhill when I asked for the restaurant week menu. I’m going to assume we were stereotyped as not having money or something along those lines. The fact of the matter is that if I can get 3 courses for the price of just a normal steak, why wouldn’t I do that? And the stereotype was wrong as we eat out often & tip well when
treated well. Anyway, it was a long night of waiting for everything. Granted she was busy (we sat in the bar) but I can tell you we definitely felt like the very last priority as she chatted with other guests and found other things to do. It took an enormous amount of time just to get a carry out box.
Food was fine. I didn’t know the house salad came with anchovies as there was no description on menu. That was 2 bites and done. My husbands Caesar was good. We were given each other’s steaks, but we figured it out and swapped. My steak was a bit over seasoned but not terrible. Mashed potatoes were good. Creamed spinach just average. We asked for dessert to go as I honestly couldn’t stand to have to wait any longer for the last portion of our meal as well as the bill.
There are so many great steak places to go that we will never be back. This is our second bad experience and that’s enough for me.
We made a reservation at the Troy MI location during restaurant week. Social distancing was very good.
Our server Ted did a great job and our meals were delicious.
Restaurant week prix fixe menu. Excellent value. Waiter, Chris, was very attentive and knowledgeable.
My 2 dining companions and I decided we'd each order a different item for each course so we could share and try them all.
Surprisingly the pork chop was the overall favorite, crispy on the outside, melt in your mouth on the inside.
Key lime pie was the dessert winner.
Can't wait to go back again.
