Motion Dining - Marriott Brisbane

We have eaten here many many times over the years and have always had a delightful experience. It was quite busy for a Tuesday night but not so that the waiters were run off their feet. Our drinks took forever and then we asked for some ice, which never arrived and we went to the bar ourselves. The food was lovely.

Seafood buffet was excellent. Oysters was fresh and creamy, smoked salmon, bugs and hot meals was tasty 😋

Great value lunch special menu, served in a dining room with a nice, classy ambience to celebrate my mothers birthday. Really appreciated the complementary aperitif and desert for the birthday girl.

I had originally booked ahead as I wanted to try out the seafood buffet on Friday Night. Received SMS on day of arrival that this Buffet was not available all of January,-a bit late notice for me to find alternative on a Friday night. At check-in I was told of 'Seafood Tower' was being offered as alternative. Cancelled Friday booking and tried Seafood Tower on Thursday night as had been looking forward to a seafood medley.
It was quite good. As we dined early (on NSW Time) the restaurant was quiet and uncrowded, as we like it.
The service was attentive. We had a trainee on our table which was fine, although we did have to ask for our used shell bowls to be replaced when full. Manager on duty was attentive and approachable.

Disappointing meal and unenthusiastic staff. Not what i expect from a 5 star hotel.
We order the crispy salmon...but it came out with absolutely no crispy skin...overcooked and 3 half brussel sprouts and a few carrots. There was zero wow...and for $38 was expecting more.

Excellent Food and a great variety and very fresh food

The food selections are not great and the taste are common nothing special.

The seafood buffet was ordinary to say the least. Barely any choice of sweets. i have stayed at Marriott in China, Bangkok and Pattaya they leave Brisbane for dead. I am also a Marrott rewards club member. When booking the Christmas Eve meal, I asked if I could redeem my points and I was told I could. When I mentioned this at the time of paying I was informed by an extremely rude staff member, Emily, that I could not. I was embarrassing! Not good enough Marriott Brisbane.

Worst meal was awful. Plus got charged public holiday fee it wasn’t a public holiday and have emailed The Marriott twice No answer ?

A great night's dining. The seating arrangement has been changed so you can now have private dining. A big plus for this.
Another advantage is they have a first seating at 5 pm so we could eat and make our way to South Bank to see the "Bee Gees" at 6 pm.

The staff are very welcoming and attentive, the is food excellent. The only negative was due to our large group meals were slow to come out.

We had a lovely evening with friends. The food was great, service was exceptional and lucky to have Minh Le as our waitress. Highly recommend.

The whole evening was lovely. We were celebrating my wife's birthday with family. We had the seafood buffet was really good. Some may say not as good as the Surfers Paradise Marriott but for the much smaller number of patrons you can't expect to have the same variety. The food was top rate. We had four grandchildren experiencing their first seafood buffet and now want to celebrate their birthdays there. The staff couldn't have been more friendly, especially our main waiter. We are Club Marriott members using one of our vouchers so that made the price very reasonable.The only downside was the clearing away of the used plates but that didn't detract from a great night out.

Seafood Buffet was disappointing. Fresh seafood was ok, but everything else was poor quality. Breaded calamari tasted like it was from Coles, desserts cakes were dry and cheap, roast beef was dry, flavoured 'naked' calamari was tasteless, Kilpatrick oyster sauce was basically tomato paste from a jar. When I was at the Gold Coast Marriott, the seafood buffet was 5 star. This was more like Sizzlers, and for $89 I expected more.

Overall, the food itself wasn't too bad, though for a buffet i think there could've been more choice in hot food section, more for kids (the ice cream flavours were only coconut and rum and raisin!), better prepared fruit options such as pre-cut fruit not just unprepared fruit, and more choice for desserts.
A positive was that due to being a birthday, we got a free glass a of sparkling wine which was nice.

I had a great experience at Motion Dining and experienced a high level of service from the team.

The food was okay considering that this is a Marriott. We have had the seafood buffet at the Marriott on the Gold Coast and it is much better. Also, service was slow - 20 minutes for two mojitos and two beers.

very overpriced for what you get.... menu is misleading and portions are really small...

It was a lovely dinner for family gathering. We would definitely going back again.

We have dined here many times and the food was very nice. Wait staff were extremely friendly and explained a few things on the menu . Would recommend eating here 👍

The staff, service, food and experience were all excellent.

Serving staff were the (only) highlight of our visit. they were pleasant, efficient and helpful.
We had to wait an hour for a very mediocre, near cold, meal even though there were only 3 tables occupied when we arrived, and less than 20% occupied when we left. The cooks seemed to just amble around, no hurry. We expected much better from a restaurant (cafe would be a more appropriate word) at Marriott. We haven't stayed at the Marriott since 2010, and this was a very disappointing stay mostly because of Motion Dining (not much motion or emotion from the cooks). We definitely will never again knowingly go to a Motion or Open Table cafe again. And we weren't the only ones disappointed in the meal & service. At least one other party were complaining. I wouldn't waste my time complaining on site, as the manager would certainly not pass on the complaints to whoever is the person responsible for management, if there is such a person.

I am sorry to say but the brunch deql is not worth $49 per person. We were a party of 4 and every one of us were disappointed with the variety of food, or should I say lack of. The were about 8/10 warm dishes. Mainly meat, hardly any vegetarian options. The spice curry was Inedible. The cheese in the cold section must of been a wax figure because I couldn't cut it. The dessert looked like it had been brought from Coles. I literally left hungry. Not worth the money.

I regularly take friends to eat off the menu but this is first time we had been for brunch. It was hectic and appeared understaffed. Two last minute additions to our table were accommodated but I have never been so disappointed in the food or service. Choice of food was very limited and slow to come out though was cold when it did. Hollandaise eggs were so cold it appeared they had come from refrigeration. Bacon was slow to arrive but went quickly. Server is badly set up so there is poor access for staff who fight their way through waiting customers in the line for food, with fresh food or later with dirty plates. Plates were not cleared. Water was filled once and initial drinks but no offer was made after that. Coffee was not included nor offered. It was not value for money. Had I not been using a discount voucher I would be fuming. I have changed my next booking to avoid brunch, and hopefully more disappointment.

Seafood was very fresh, good selection of hot and cold. Staff gave great service.

Disappointed with the quality of food. Prawns and crab were tasteless. Hotdishes were cold. The environment was too noisy. Definitely overpriced and overated on the seafood buffet

The food was ok & presented well, but it lacked imagination and ‘wow’ factor. We were hoping for something special and it certainly wasn’t that. It was ok. Not bad. But just meeting expectations and not much beyond that.

Biggest issue I had was it was overpriced and I couldn't get a valet park when told it would be no problem. Car park was full. Food good if it was breakfast. Eggs benedict needed to have hot eggs and more variety of salads. Seafood curry was quite good along with roast beef.

I took my kids and husband here to celebrate our anniversary and my birthday and was a let down from the start . We went to the early seating at 5pm , no huge variety of food in buffet from breads only being white bread rolls or slice your own sourdough, yes seafood basic crab prawns and oysters and very basic salads hot food beef , veggies , salmon or chicken and fried chips and calamari was kids option
Desserts basic slices and banana ice cream too bad if you don’t like bananas!

for the money totally not worth it!!!
I can go to the local club and have the same buffet!

A huge diss appointment

We enjoyed our night out during the first sitting of the evening buffet.

We booked for a 6pm sitting not knowing it was a buffet with 2 sittings. Coming in at that time which as we now know was in the middle of the first sitting and most of the hot food was cold. I also had a piece of roast chicken that was not cooked through. We were not that impressed with the food at all.

Delicious food and great service! Good place to catch up with friends!

the menu was a little light on choice, lots of meals with bread,coffe cappachino cup to small only a mouthful, ill try again and hope for improvement

Overall a good dining experience! The only criticism we have is both soups were very watery, both needed some substance.

Seafood buffet but seafood options and buffet choices were limited.
Crayfish was unavailable within first hour and one of us haven't tried any.
Oysters were fresh and prawns great. Would have preferred more seafood choices.

The staff were so attentive and very helpful, and even more so as I cut my finger on a crab, the quality of the seafood was very fresh and of high standards, you may want to tell people when your seating them that there's food in the back fridges behind the seafood, as we didn't notice it until we were half way through our meal and then we were not interested in eating any of it, also I found there was not enough choices of hot foods that interested me, I did like that the staff came out singing happy birthday to me and bought me out a cake, that was very kind and thoughtful, even for the other 2 people who were celebrating their birthdays there. My overall experience was good, a bit pricey for what we ate and I would tell friends to go there for the seafood.

Very overpriced for the poor selection of food.
This is the first time I was ever disappointed at a buffet in my whole life.
The only 'seafood' I can recall were the oysters, cooked prawns and crab which weren't so fresh.
There were only about 10 choices of hot food, and only about 2 of them were sea food, rest were potatoes, veges, and noodles. Seafood chowder was a joke, it was rather a cream soup with a 'hint' of seafood.
Again, poor range of deserts which were in the fridge that I had to open with one had holding the plate.
Never again going back..

The food was excellent and the restaurant had a good vibe .
Most impressive waa the service the staff were very polite and anything we requested was fast with a friendly manor.
I will definitely go back and recommend to family and friends.
Best buffet for price and service and good quality of food ..
my wife ordered pina colada best she has ever had ...
