This place is very cute! Smaller tapas portions than I’ve seen but the food is excellent. The tables are very close together so be ready to know your neighbors!
Went with 2 friends that have never been to Movida and they truly enjoyed the dinner of paella and of course Sangria. I have been there in the past and feel the paella serving is getting a little scimpy.
Movida is a very fun place for family and friends to gather in a energetic atmosphere. I love to try a new dish at each visit because each shareable plate has its own combination of very distinctive flavors .
The atmosphere was great. The tables are little small for a party of 2, but overall food was great! I would definitely say make a reservation to avoid waiting!
New Year’s Eve dinner. We’ll be back!
Wonderful experience as per usual at Movida! Great idea to have all you can eat tapas for NYE! Server could have been a little more prompt but overall great night out
JP our server was amazing. And trying a bunch of different tapas was delicious and great for our group. First time there, will definitely have to come back
We were sat in the back. The tables were way too close together to the point that our waitress couldn't get to our table to serve our dessert or give us the bill. Don't know if this was a New Year's Eve thing to be able to get more people in, but we had to ask another table to move so we could leave. Great food and drink, but disheartened by the squeeze of tables.
Went with large group on NYE and do this might have affected experience. Tapas is really meant to be done with 4-6 to enjoy the conversation. Felt rushed. Service provided by a newbie. I’ll go again under different circumstances but this experience was not overly impressive.
Food is always great here and this time was no exception. Also can't beat the prices on the all night happy hour on Mondays where most items including drinks are half off.
Food and service were great again.
Great time with family before a show.
We went there the night of Christmas, as they were one of the few places open. Everything was delicious and well-presented. The Porron is fun and worth doing. The olive board, jamon, and soria were all excellent, as were the shrimp and flank steak dishes. It had been a while since we were there and we will definitely not wait that long again.
Food was delicious. All-you-can-eat-tapas was a great deal, especially on Christmas. Cocktails were a little on the strong side which is common for Milwaukee, but not always wanted/encouraged. This restaurant tends to be too dim - having to hold the paper menu right next to or above an oil lamp to read it isn't really the best experience.
So called Paella was a thin layer of ingredients barely enough to cover the bottom of the pan...and burned to the point of being tasteless except for the burned aftertaste...and this disaster cost $ 45.00 each for two separate Paella...Way overpriced...! Tapas medicore at best...again overpriced for quantity and quality. Bar did not have proper ingredients for requested drinks. Waiter accidentally poured water into one of the drinks but did not offer to replace the drink. Waiter never once stopped to asked how food was, and never asked if there was anything needed. A truly ruined Holiday family dinner...Never again. This restaurant kitchen staff needs to look at photos of what a true Paella really looks like...!
I enjoyed all the food I ordered but clearly one of my dishes were totally forgotten and had to ask. The hummus was supposed to come with cucumbers but they did have any left. We got there when it opened. Slow even to come back for water. But it was Christmas Day so maybe I have to take it into account. But really not a great experience
Always a fun dining experience for tapas and drinks
Our server JP was exceptional. He checked in and offered stellar recommendations. The octopus and the Movida paella are by far two of the best things I've ever eaten. Brava Movida!
Always good. Love the tapas and a very nice space.
Spanish tapas and paella. The tapas were delicious and flavorful. Our favorite dishes were the street noodles and the churros!
Service was fast and friendly.
The only downside was the crowded room set up. Heavy wooden tables with sharp corners placed too close to each other made it difficult for customers and servers to move about.
I love this place! We dine out frequently and this restaurant is my favorite!!!! Thank you all for always making our dining experience special! 😁
Great food and service!
An area for improvement: There are quaint little lanterns on each table which is a nice touch. The drawback is they run off of kerosene. The result is the whole place smells of kerosene (not pleasant) and the lights are so small we had to use our lights on our mobile phones to read the menu.
We enjoyed classic menu. They had one previously that have some food originally Mexican, and I feel didn’t represent Spain
Although pricey, we had a lovely meal (Spanish meatballs and the “blistered” peppers were especially nice) served by an attentive wait-person.
Fun experience, always something new to try, we love the Sangria and it's a great spot for people watching. Usually you are seating closely to the table next to you, which we don't mind. Always grab a reservation on the weekends as this place is popular, and for a good reason :)
It was fine
Hands down one of my favorite restaurants! Amazing service and outstanding food!
Great food, atmosphere and service! Highly recommend trying!!
The service and mood in the restaurant are exceptional. The food was clean and very tasty. I wanted to order everything on the menu but we decided to try the tapas and save the paella next visit.
The flank steak dish came to the table too rare (cold in the middle) and arrived in the exact same condition after being re-prepared.
Dip-style dishes came with a grossly inadequate quantity of crackers/bread and there were additional charges applied when more was requested.
The waiter was horrible. He looked like he couldn’t care less. Walked around like he was a rooster. Had noconcern for our table. I have been to movida over 30 times but the staff waiter might be the reason if we will never go back
If you don’t do something about him you will lose business. My wife and daughter both were very unhappy with him.
We had a great meal - everything was delicious. The only issue we had was we were sat about 40 minutes after our Open Table reservation. However - the staff took great care of us, and we will be back!
The tapas and sangria were great. It is a bit noisy
Music got a little loud for conversation towards the end but paella was delicious and our waiter was very considerate
Everything was good except the paella was undercooked
Really great space - cool vibe! The food was delicious. It was a little dark (very hard to read a menu) but would definitely recommend.
The Red Sangaria and food is so delicious. Can't wait to return.
Food was excellent, I will definitely return to eat at Movida
The service was quick and kind. The menu was appealing. The cheese platter was generously sized. Beyond that, the food was simply average. Usually in a tapas place, I expect to get some interesting flavors, but it was all just quite bland - even the spicy dishes. For the ambiance, we were so tightly packed together we had to get up and move mid-meal to allow another couple the space to get out. The tight space also made it hard for the servers to deliver the food - one plate would have landed on my lap if I hadn't caught it. But it was when I saw the servers resetting tables for the next customers without wiping them down first that I was totally put off. The drinks were the best part of our experience. Based on the other reviews, maybe it was an off night. But I really doubt we'll go back anytime soon to find out.
