Moxie's Grill & Bar - Barrie

Arrival was smooth and seamless! We were walked to our table and settled in nicely. Our Bartender knows their menu well and was able to guide us and suggest items and even modifications for my Vegetarian friend! Great atmosphere and we're glad we came back a second time (first visit was great too!).

We've already booked for December!

Really attentive staff

Read the reviews, noted the negatives, was buoyed by the positive ones. Decided to book through OpenTable and give it a try. We were 15 minutes early, seated immediately. Service was prompt, had our beverage order in front of us and food ordered within 15 minutes. Food was delivered in a reasonable time frame, hot and quite good. Had another beverage with dinner, our waitress was attentive but not overbearing. She seemed to know when to check in, and when to leave us alone.
Simply nodded to get the check, delivered in about 5 minutes. Paid. Finished. One hour, but not rushed.
Noise level is high, my only complaint, possibly due to their chosen decor; a lot of hard surfaces for sound to bounce around and off of...
Will gladly do it again.

Restaurant was cold, felt rushed by waitress...although our food took a long time. When it arrived it was cold and under cooked. Very small portions and over priced apps.

Great service and meals.

The food was fine, as expected. The initial service was fine, but it was difficult to get follow up service to freshen our drinks, and we were never asked how the food was. We ended up being a group of 7, but all on one bill. Oddly, when it was time to pay, the server was all over it.

Lunch with the girlfriends, good food and atmosphere, server was a little slow and in attentive, but it was fairly busy.

It started out great. Then our server lost interest. They brought our 2 orders and left the other 2 until we asked for them. 15 minutes later. Then we were ignored from then on. We waited 15 minutes if not for our bill. We actually stood up to let them know we wanted it. Our other couple had left the building by the time our bill arrived. They did take off our one appetizer for forgetting the other 2 orders but this is why we had stopped going there over 2 years ago. Food was very good.

The service was some of the best I’ve ever experienced at any restaurant. Great food, and a clean atmosphere.

Everything was excellent. Last minute changes to resrevation time and number of diners were accommodated without difficulty and, as always, the service and food were first rate. We'll done!

Appreciated the gluten free menu and the manager dropping by the table to go over the gluten free items we had ordered. Food was delicious.

We had a delightful evening at Moxies. The best was the fantastic friendly service. Food was tasty and well presented.

The experience overall was good. My mom had the ribs which was good. I had the fish tacos which I think could use a little lore flavor but overall great. It’s nice for a simple dinner or date night out.

7 colleagues had a nice dinner there Sunday night. Our server was exceptional, and looked after all our needs including an allergy concern, and always a smile on her face. The food was delicious as always!! I’m sure we’ll be back.

Party of six with a reservation a week in advance. Moxie’s was not very busy on the Saturday evening but they tried to seat us in a both that would really no fit 6 adults having dinner. After our request, they did move tables together and that mad it much more suitable as they had plenty of room. The server was very friendly and accommodating to our requests. The menu could be reviewed. No seafood as a choice, only shrimp that could be added to a main dish. Why not as an appetizer or main on it’s own?

Excellent ambience e delicious food. My friends and I are there at least once a month. Their salmon is divine. I highly recommend.

We really enjoy dining at Moxies in Barrie. Great food, atmosphere and service!!

Waitress had no idea what she was doing. Mains got there 20 minutes after we started and we’re still on our app. Place was dead, why rush us out?

For dinner had spareribs- vegetables were soggy and potatoes were very very salty

Dessert was ice cream that was brought to the table very late as waitress was over worked....ice cream was half melted and I refused it and asked for fresh.

My experiences have previously been very good with Moxies. I think I will take a break and look elsewhere.

We have gone to Moxies for our anniversary for the last three years and on other occasions when in the area. The service is excellent and professional, thank you Jade. The manager always double checks to see is all is well. Food is always served hot unlike other places we frequent. We have no reason not to go back. Go and enjoy.

Service was excellent, Food was Ok, Wine was a bit warm nothing ice couldn't solve.
My steak was overcooked, they offered to cook another one, but I figure it would take too long so just had the over cooked one.

We have gone to Moxie's at this time of year for probably about 4 years now. We like to have a low key celebration and have chosen Moxie's for several reasons.

The service has been outstanding each time we have dined there. We like to have friendly staff who are attentive, but not too clingy. Our servers were exactly what we hoped for.

The food was very enjoyable. We ordered a starter which we felt might not be enough for 4 people, but it was generous.

Food presentation is something I enjoy and look for when dining out. We don't dine out often, but when we do we like it to be better than ordinary. Moxie's is that.

Finally, we always order the same wine and we never regret it. It's a bonus that they re-cork the leftover wine which allows us to take it home safely. Do not hesitate to choose Moxie's for a pleasant dinner experience.

Greeting at the door was pleasant, with all servers and maitre 'd. Although we were early we were taken to a table. We ordered a martini. It arrived without olives. The steak I ordered was rare. I ordered medium rare. We also had a bottle of wine. The server should really be trained to pour when needed. Three visits to the table to ask how are meal was ( yes while we were chewing food) and did not top up our glasses.
I think that when you hire low paid staff, like college or university students, you should at least take the time to train them properly.
Not greatly impressed with the experience.

Went there for mother's Day. Awesome food as always. Gave all the woman in the restaurant full potted plants which was extremely thoughtful.

Very slow service. Only two tables of people in the entire restaurant and had to wait for drinks for 30 mins. Waited for the bill for over 30 mins.

My steak was great and my husband's was a bit tough . Service was great and price was great too

I didn’t mention anything when we were there as I didn’t want to be a bother to our server (alex) because he was great and also looked fairly busy. But I was very excited to go out for a nice meal and unfortunately didn’t get it ... we ordered the sushi cones which were good, but my fish tacos were not well made (no cabbage on one and a heaping amount on the other) and there was only fish on the taco with no cabbage ? My boyfriends burger was very well done and dry , but only on the one side .. when we looked at it we noticed it just hadn’t been flipped so one side was charred and the other was hardly cooked... love the ambience and again , nothing wrong with the service but I probably won’t return simply because of our food.

Great atmosphere; service was excellent and food was good! We were there for almost three hours and they didn’t rush us on at all, told us to enjoy and take our time.

The server was sarcastic and not friendly.
Our food came to us cold.
A manager was kind enough to comp a glass of wine and our appetizer though.
