New Year's Eve Special Menus & Offers
Executive Chef, Marque Collins, will be preparing a five course experience that includes King Crab Fritters, locally raised NY Strip and wood-grilled Lobster Thermidor. A carefully curated wine pairing will also be available for those looking to indulge on the last night of 2020.
We tried this restaurant after noticing it while on a walk through downtown Des Moines. All four us really liked our entrees, which included squash lasagna (for the vegetarian) and chicken, beef and halibut dishes for the other three. We enjoyed the baked olives first course, but would have appreciated knowing that it was large enough to split. We took quite a few olives home. The service was friendly and knowledgeable, though a bit slow, and the noise level when we arrived was moderate. By the time we left, though, the lights went down and the music was cranked up. we left at the right moment. Overall, this was an excellent dining experience in a beautifully restored building that is now a hotel.

Server Taylor was great, but seating was on top of the food prep, and the pacing was horrible. We got our app and first course at the same time. Had to rush through the first course because the second was hot on its heels.
Food was decent but should get more inspired food at this price level.

No need for a loud DJ during dinner service. Hard to hear waiters who wear masks with loud house music. Took am hour and twenty minutes to get our first drink

Lot of money for the quality of the food. Spent $175 for 2 moscow mules, 2 glasses of wine, 1 salad, 1 appetizer, 1 Halibut and 1 steak dinner.

Unique and tastey!
The experience was fine. Food was hit or miss - macaroni and cheese was amazing. Shrimp cocktail not great. Brought salad and meal together vs one at a time (?). Service was exceptional. Table was super small and almost uncomfortable. Would try again.

The food was amazing. The serve was good, but my friend just found out on her credit card was over charged. And drinks and food did take time to come out, but then it was fresh and we were in no trouble. Busy for a Tuesday night and great space. Beautiful hotel it is connected to!

Service was incredibly slow, food took forever and tasted like smoke without saying on menu anything was smoked. Really disappointed

Service was fantastic and food was great. Tyler was our server and he was AWESOME! Only negative is that it is loud so a little hard for some of our party to hear each other.

I had high expectations coming here and was slightly disappointed upon leaving. The wine took 20 minutes to get, in a moderately busy room. The Riesling was unrecognizable and I was questioning if they used a different wine. The food came soon after. I couldn’t even swallow the Caesar salad it was so lemony. The saving grace of this meal was the brown butter cake. For the price of our meal, I expected better.
Service was slow.

Food was great. Service was okay, but the place is very loud. High ceilings and music blasting. You almost had to yell to have a conversation.

Go for the drinks (even the zero proof) and charcuterie. I have enjoyed the cocktails and boards every time we’ve been to Mulberry Street Tavern. Unfortunately, the entrees have fallen flat each time for us. I still highly recommend it as a drinks and apps spot with great service!

Enjoyed the venue. Smaller menu however it provides wide array of options and something for all foodie choices. The Oysters are delightful! Perfect size and taste. Blue cheese wedge salad - fresh. Half Chicken dinner plate very good. Staff are friendly. Andre is excellent. Knowledgeable about the menu and each dish sounded delightful. Good value for the meal.

The drinks were good, as were the French fries! The steak for two was served raw and not good at all! Very disappointing!

It could have been so good.. We had to wait about 10 minutes after our reservation time for our table which was not a big deal. Our server was prompt taking our drink orders but it was downhill from there. We waited at least 10 minutes for our drinks to be served and as it was later in the evening and not too busy it wasn't a backed up bar problem. Our server was talking with her back to the bar as our drinks were waiting and waiting and waiting. Now for the food -it could have been really good if it had been served at the correct temperature. Of the four entrees nothing was more than barely warm. The Mulberry seasonal pie had delicious flavor and should have been bubbling out of its crust as well as the macaroni and cheese in its cast iron skillet. The duck ragu pasta was very good as was the halibut but both were barely warm. The salad was forgotten and came with entrees when pointed out. The bar and restaurant and lobby of the hotel were very modern and nicely decorated with a great vibe. Maybe it was just a bad night for the kitchen and serving staff. It was just very disappointing. It could have been great and I would be giving them 5 stars.

The Butcher's Steak was the toughest steak I've ever had. The pork wings and shrimp were good. The portions were skimpy. We called ahead and said we had a toddler. "Of course children are welcome." (We're from out of town, so we wouldn't know.) One hostess was accommodating, while the individual who sat us had a sneer on her face and didn't speak to us. She went to our assigned table and veered off to the back by the even noisier kitchen area. We did not feel welcome, the food was mediocre and we do not plan on returning.

July 2 was our third visit and second time we invited friends to be our guests. I’ve had three different entrées and all were very good, compliments to the chef. The manager and wait staff even on the busiest night (our first visit) have been exceptional.

Food was spot on. Really enjoyed the Steak For 2. Apps and sides were excellent too. Service was a bit spotty but understandable on a Saturday night. Only real complaint was our first round of whiskey sours came in smelly glasses. Outta the dishwasher smelly glasses. Craft cocktail bars should do better. Great experience overall though and will definitely be back!

The appetizers were great but the steaks were very fatty and had a lot of gristle. I would order the halibut the next time.
