Another great dinner with Musashi
Firstly - Musashi always does great sushi. And it still does!
However Musashi used to be one of my favourite sushi places in Dublin and I’m sad to say it has gone down in quality somewhat in recent months.
Portion sizes have decreased while prices remain on the higher end of sushi fare in Dublin.
Green tea is no longer provided when seated which was always a nice touch other restaurants didn’t have.
The quality of cooked ingredients (meat, vegetables) is now quite poor - the food used to be so fresh!
The sushi is still fantastic, but I really can’t find a reason to come here over somewhere like EatTokyo which has superior food and friendlier service at a much lower price.
I usually go to Musashi in Capel St and in Parnell, but this time I wanted to try this one in IFSC and I was blown away with the quality of the desserts! The sushi is great and dumplings are amazing, but the dessert was to die for! Stuff was very nice and friendly, way bigger restaurant (you don't feel like your neighbour is breathing into your plate like in the other 2 restaurants) and food was amazing! Thanks again
Good food, if somewhat standard. Duck Gyoza was lovely. Be aware that you cannot do an open table reservation for same day; we ran into difficulty there.
Some of the nicest Sushi I’ve had in a while. Staff very attentive and always with a smile.
When we arrived, the restaurant denied knowledge of our booking and turned us away. Very disappointing as we have enjoyed the restaurant in the past.
The food is good enough but the service is amateur. Filling the glasses of wine up to the top at once just to take the empty bottle sway immediately isn't what you expect.Prices are fare.
I booked a table (via OpenTable) for 18.30 and received an email confirming the reservation. When I arrived I mentioned to the staff that I had a booking. I was informed that they had not yet opened the email concerning my booking and, in view of the fact that I had only booked recently (45 minutes previous) I would have to wait at least 20 minutes for a table notwithstanding the confirmed booking. We had to go elsewhere. Very unsatisfactory.
Great sushi. The restaurant itself was very cold. All the customers were wearing their jackets.
Going for pre theatre dinner at 6.15pm on a Saturday the place wasn't busy. Drinks arrived promptly, food was impossibly slow. We exited at 7.55pm having had to repeatedly ask where our food was. Their reason was the chef was in on his own. Pity, other branches are great usually.
Favourite place to have sushi in Dublin
Gorgeous food as always. My only complaint is that I often find the tables very close together and as a result the tables either side can hear everything you’re saying and vice versa. Food is amazing and fresh as always.
Service is good although a bit slow. Food is excellent. Only issue is that we booked through open table but when we arrived we were told that they had asked for open table to stop bookings that afternoon so there was no table available. Only got a table because we persisted otherwise they seemed happy to let us leave blaming open table.
I felt like We were being looked after by untrained staff on their first night. Ordered a gin and tonic but was told they didn’t have any tonic. Anyone with a bit of initiative would have popped across the toad to get some in the near by shop. Not here. Service very hit and miss and over all poor. Food was average.
The food was very nice. The menu is the usual sushi fare. The area was quite the night we went but might be busier during the day .
Dined with my wife for our wedding anniversary and last night in Dublin with our two little children. Staff were great with our boys. Food was mostly very good; curry sauce with chicken katsu was a bit thin and not like we’ve had in Japan or at home but otherwise very happy.
Excellent restaurant, one of my favourites in Dublin
Went for pre-theatre meal and was very happy with all aspects of the visit. Friendly and efficient service, a good choice of dishes and a thumbs up from my gust, who is a frequent diner at other Japanese restaurants.
Excellent food and service
One word amazing the food is just outstanding and the service
We loved the food and the service was very good! Would definitely return.
Food & service was good. Tables are extremely close together.
Amazing food as usual. wonderful service and an all round fantastic experience
I adore Musashi! Food is great, service is great and the price is pretty good too! Can't recommend it enough
Was really looking forward to this, have eaten in the sandy ford musashi for lunch and loved it. Unfortunately the service was really bad, I don’t like leaving negative reviews but it did effect the experience we had. Also the menu wasn’t as good as the lunch menu
Musashi is just the best place in Dublin for Japanese food
Went here with a friend after work on a Friday. it wasn't too busy so although we had reserved a table we cold have walked in just as easily. Service was excellent and even after we had long finished our dinner they did not push us out and we stayed for quite a while chatting. We didn't try any of the noodle dishes but all of the sushi platters we got were very good and reasonably priced. The wine (Pinot Grigio - chosen by my friend) was one of the nicest I had had in a while too.
Waiting staff were excellent and friendly. Sushi was fantastic. Very reasonable. Not in the most cosy place but that's more to do with the buildings in the IFSC that the place itself. Asahi beer was nice. Very good overall experience.
very nice place and food.
my favourite here in Dublin : )
Always lovely food and the service is better here than at the one near Jervis!
Thoroughly enjoyed our meal. The teenagers had sushi and dessert and the adults had starters and main courses . Food was lovely. Service fast and friendly and surprisingly good value for money.
Everyone I eat here, we're happy. I love Musashi!
Musashi is like a home for us. We just love it here, and we try to eat here at least once a month. I'm vegan, and my wife is vegetarian, and we have so many options to have here, all of it is just delicious. We love the lunch deals, especially the Bento box. These guys know how to make tofu. If you ever had bad ideas about tofu, here is a place to revisit and find what you missed out.
I booked a table online with Opentable.ie last Thursday when I went to Dublin for the day from Wexford with my Mother. I walked all over town shopping before going to Musashi IFSC to have dinner knowing I had a table booked only to find that it was closed. I was absolutely disgusted that it was closed after my booking was taken online. I was extremely upset and disappointed!!!!!!
